1./1 Courtly Love in the context of ludic elements of courtly culture (Cantigas de Santa Maria and the troubadour chansonnier R) Matouš Jaluška Abstract Dissertation Courtly Love in the context of ludic elements of courtly culture (Cantigas de Santa Maria and the troubadour chansonnier R) strives to refine on the common notion that the me- dieval courtly poetry is a kind of game. It is based in the tradition of thinking about playing, which is based on the essay Homo ludens of Johan Huizinga and continues through works of Roger Cailloise, Jacques Henriot and Eugen Fink to the current trend of Game Studies. Close reading of the authorities in the introductory chapter shows that each of them assigns an im- portant role to the notion of discontinuity or rupture that enables them to establish the game as a non-binding and safe world. The concept of troubadour poetic creation as a safe activity is explored in the second chapter based on the works of the two founding figures of the trouba- dour tradition, Guilhem de Peitieu ("the Count of Poitiers") and Marcabru. The comparison shows that the safety of troubadour poetry is closely connected with the idea of binding or non-binding language. Binding speech is strongly linked to the image of female power and the ability of women to breed offspring and thus to keep...

Výstavba fikčního světa fantasy ságy Píseň ledu a ohně / The construction of fictional world of fantasy saga A Song of Ice and FireKollárová, Veronika January 2018 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the fantasy saga A Song of Ice and Fire written by American author G. R. R. Martin and the analysis of its fictional world. It explores saga's genre classification and focuses on elements that depart from its genre and which enrich it. Through the narratological analysis of the work, it focuses on the main principles of the construction of the fictional world and its specific characteristics. The basic theoretical framework for the analysis of the saga consists of contemporary fictional worlds that are not called fictional in the sense that they would form a fictional narrative but create a new narrative universe. It is designed to help construct further sequels or narrative turns. The diploma thesis also refers to the phenomenon of transmediality, thanks to which the narrative universe continues to expand and the fictional world becomes more realistic.

Norská politika spolupráce v oblasti vzdělávání a výzkumu jako nástroj měkké moci norské zahraniční politiky / The Norwegian policy of cooperation in Education and Research as a soft-power tool for Norway's foreign policyPajerová, Anna January 2019 (has links)
This diploma thesis examines the Norwegian policy of cooperation in Education and Research as a soft-power tool for Norway's foreign policy. Within a European context, three levels of Norway's participation in Education and Research programmes will be analyzed. The first level is Norway's cooperation policy toward the EU, though as a weaker actor. The second is Norway's value of cooperation as an equal partner, which is typical in the Nordic region. And the third is cooperation via EEA Grants and Norway Grants, in which Norway is a dominant player. This thesis combines a theory of international cooperation and Robert Keohane and Joseph Nye's theory of soft-power, complex interdependence and asymmetry of relations between the participants. In the research, a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods are used. This thesis reveals that Norway decreases the financial spending to the areas where it has more influence and can utilize more of its soft power, while it also invests into areas where it plays the role of substandard actor. An explanation is found in the theory of international cooperation and the game of Chicken, where the longstanding and successful corporation strives to achieve a compromise rather than a win, i.e. to moderate any power fluctuation and strive for an equilibrium state.

Proměna sociokulturní funkce karnevalu a šarivari v historické perspektivě / The Changes of the Sociocultural Role of Carnival and Charivari in the Historical PerspectiveHillebrandová, Olga January 2013 (has links)
The thesis discusses the changes of the sociocultural role of Carnival and Charivari in the Western culture from the Late Middle Agges to the end of the early modern period. The thesis is graunded in the analysis of secondary literature about the carnival and charivari , which is considered to be paradigmatic in history. The analysis follows the thesis of theoretical concepts of N. Elias and M. Foucault. Both of these authors deal with establishing specific individuality of modern man based on the necessary self-control a courtesy codified by social consensus. Carnival and charivari are examples of ritualized collective transgression, which helps create the values and norms of society. Carnival is primarily an expression of popular culture, which includes ritual, play and festivities. It celebrates human nature; the bodily pleasure food, drink, sex and violence, everything that should be civilized by culture. The goal of the thesis is to examine the process of civilizing or disciplining carnival , to determine the initiators and agents of this change. Following the previous then to check whether originally spontaneous carnival festivities, games and rituals in the historical development, which is characterized by a loss of spontaneity, commercialization and professionalization, completely lost their...

The diploma project Move is a simple 3D digital game in the genre typology of platform games, specifically of an atmospheric-meditative nature, with elements of a walking simulator from a third-person perspective shooter (TPS). Its interactive content is based on topics such as portraits, wandering, meditation, painting and personal mythology. Through the author's stylization of the theme and graphic processing, my goal is to create a playable prototype of a digital game containing interactive elements, with a controllable character named Mo and the atmospheric environment of the levels through which the player passes. Using the medium of digital games, I would like to point out the possibilities of communication means, that it offers within the art world.

Szenarien Buch Václava Tháma (Pština 1805 - 1806). Edice textu a analýza dramaturgie / Szenarien Buch of Václav Thám (Pszczyna 1805 - 1806). Critical edition of the manuscriptHanoušek, Martin January 2022 (has links)
The topic of this dissertation thesis is editing the first extant part of the manuscript theatralia titled Scenarien-Buch des Hochfürstlichen Anhalt-Köthen Pleßschen Hoftheaters, written by Václav Thám (1765-1816?), a Czech actor, dramatist, dramaturge and a translator. This manuscript was written in the historical Kurrent script (Kurrentschrift), and originated between 1805 and 1806, during the period when Thám's life still has not been explored very much. Those days Thám had a theatre engagement in the service of the Prince Ferdinand Friedrich of Anhalt-Köthen in the town of Pless situated in the region of the Prussian enclave of Silesia, today's Poland. Thám recorded in the manuscript theatre approaches to dramatic and musical dramatic pieces which the Prince's ensemble played on the castle theatre stage in Pless and during its travel through the towns of Prussian Silesia. By comparing the manuscript and period printed editions of recorded theatre titles, the edition is attempting to bring closer how the performances presented by the Prince's ensemble could look like and whether they involved considerable or small dramaturgic deviations, and what kind. It is also trying to examine whether Thám used only one printed edition with one version of the dramatic text or libretto, or whether he used...

Angažované drama všedního dne (Francouzské sociálně angažované drama přelomu 19. a 20. století) / Engaged Drama of Everyday Life (Socially Engaged French Drama of the late 19th and 20th Century)Vokáč, Tomáš January 2012 (has links)
Mgr. Tomáš Vokáč Engaged Drama of Everyday Life (Socially Engaged French Drama of the late 19th and 20th Century) Abstract This thesis describes the fundamental ontological change in the character of the French drama of the 19th and 20th century which became the basis for the modern French drama of the 20th century. The thesis is based on the analysis of the selected plays with the focus on socially engaged and socio-critical themes. This thesis defines the basic line of development of the socially engaged drama that begins with the work of naturalistic writers Émile Zola and the Goncourt brothers, continues in the form of Henry Becque's playwrights and the authors grouped around Andre Antoine's Théâtre Libre, especially Jean Jullien and his theory of "live theatre", and results in the definition of Eugène Brieux's, François de Curel's and partly Octava Mirbeaua's drama. The opposite character of French theatre and drama at the turn of the 19th and 20th century is described as the counterpart to this line. The thesis provides comparison with the contemporary influences of commercial and subsidized theatres, refers to the symbolist theatre and to the work of late Parnassians. It also closely describes Neo- Romanticism Drama in verse represented by the works of Edmond Rostand, Jean Richepina and, partially,...
