Handdesinfektion- hinder och följsamhet

Bothin, Lucas, Brudefors, Rebecca January 2014 (has links)
Background: Several previous studies show that compliance with hand disinfection is low among medical staff. Aim: This study, therefore, aims to investigate what factors make it difficult for registered nurses and certified nursing assistants to comply with use of hand disinfection.    Methods: A survey was carried out at three randomly selected wards at a hospital in Sweden in March 2014. A questionnaire was developed and answered by registered nurses and certified nursing assistants. Results: The study received 70 replies out of the 110 questionnaires distributed – a response rate of 64%. The results show that it was more common to disinfect after than before contact with a patient. The main reasons for not disinfecting their hands were lack of time and availability of hand disinfection agents. The results also show that it was more prevalent among the registered nurses than the certified nursing assistants to skip the disinfection if the hand disinfection agent was not available. Furthermore the results showed that the senior staff, which had more than 14.3 years of practise, were better at disinfecting their hands than their less experienced colleagues. Conclusions: Medical staff report that it is more common to disinfect their hands after than before patient contact. The lack of time and availability of hand disinfection are obvious factors that influence compliance. This study highlights the need for awareness and may encourage future studies aiming at identifying other possible factors, since there is variation between wards. Interventions with the purpose to increase compliance with hand disinfection need to be adapted to these specific circumstances.

Accuracy In Body Composition Assessment With Three Different Methods Compared To Dexa

Duz, Serkan 01 January 2003 (has links) (PDF)
The purpose of this study was to investigate differences among the percent body fat (%BF) values of Turkish sedentary male and female university students measured by dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA), skinfold (SKF), ultrasound (US) and hand to hand bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA). Two hundred eight Turkish university students (one hundred four males and one hundred four females) aged between 18 to 26 years old participants participated in this study voluntarily. %BF assessment was performed by the SKF, US, BIA and DEXA methods. Differences among DEXA, SKF, US and BIA were examined by applying a series of paired-t test. Multiple regression analyses were conducted to developed regression equations to predict %BF from SKF and US measurements. Results demonstrated that there were significant differences between DEXA and SKF, US, and BIA measurements for males and females. The mean %BF derived from DEXA was significantly (p&lt / .001) greater than those of SKF, US and BIA for males and females. Multiple regression analyses showed that SKF and US measurement of subcutaneous fat at three-sites gave the best prediction to %BF for male and female separately. The multiple correlations using three sites simultaneously for men and women were r=0.92, SEE=2.4 and r=0.91, SEE=2.8 for SKF and r=0.93, SEE=2.3 and r=0.90, SEE=3.0 for US, respectively. In summary, with the new regression equation US appears to be a reliable, portable, and non-invasive tool which can be used by any field investigator on obese or thin individuals. Finally, new regression equations developed do not seem to be superior to those reported using calipers.

Integração de atributos morfométricos e geotécnicos para definição de zonas sujeitas à inundação na Bacia do Ribeirão Bocaina (MG) / Integration of morphometric attributes and geotechnical for definition of areas subject to flood in the basin of Ribeirão Bocaina (MG)

Ana Cláudia Pereira Carvalho 05 May 2017 (has links)
The study area was the basin of Ribeirão Bocaina covering the entire urban area of Passos (MG) that has long been suffering with flood problems. The work had as main objective to determine and analyze the potential for flooding of the watershed and of the urban area, integrating morphometric attributes and geotechnical. To that adopted two working scales, 1:50.000 for the watershed and 1:10.000 for the urban area. It should be noted that for the implementation of the methodological procedures was necessary the use of ArcGIS10® software and TerraHidroView 0.4.5® and also basic maps and data provided by Projeto Grande Minas. In this work the following interpretative documents were prepared: the Runoff Potential Map to the Physical and Anthropic Environment, developed through weighting of attributes with the AHP technique (Analytical Hierarchy Process); the Morphometric Susceptibility to Flood Map classified the sub-basins of the Ribeirão Bocaina based on morphometric parameters five; the Vertical Distance of the nearest Drainage Map, obtained with the aid of HAND model (Height Above the Nearest Drainage) and the Topographical Predisposition to the flood Map for the watershed and for the urban area, obtained from the correlation among the morphometric susceptibility to flood and the HAND model. In addition to these interpretative cartographic products, a detailed analysis of the flood potential considering the urban watersheds has been made, identifying the critical points of convergence that demand greater care and those places that have a strong tendency to urban growth and that may increase the waterproofing rate upstream of the urban area and increase flooding. The interpretive products developed will serve as a contribution for managers and planners in their decision-making, aimed at attenuating at the mitigation of the impacts against the occurrence of the process.

En föränderlig butik : optimering av butikslayout för second hand / A changing store : optimization of store layout for second hand

Burman, Madelene, Thorell, Madeleine January 2017 (has links)
The purpose of this paper is to research how second hand stores can optimize their store layout. The delimitations have been restricted to the exterior, interior, layout and display variables within the design of layout design. Second hand is an increasingly growing industry that a lot of people have different opinions about. Attitudes and motives from consumers regarding second hand create a wide customer group and reasons as to why they shop in second hand stores. There are few that studies second hand from a retail perspective and how second hand stores can work to create an attractive store design. Strategies to build a satisfying store layout are mostly intended for traditional retail stores. In what way are these strategies used in second hand today and are there any other factors that play in to part? Two second hand chains with different concepts and one vintage chain have been investigated. Through observations of five physical store within the chains and interviews with three of them, the result indicates that second hand stores today begin to approach a traditional method in designing their stores layout. The customers’ attitudes and motive have proven to be a significant aspect to the layout design process. The thesis is written in swedish.

Chinese young consumers' buying behavior of online second-hand clothing

Ma, Jialin, Li, Shumei January 2018 (has links)
Recent years have witnessed the increasing popularity of second-hand clothing (SHC) worldwide. In the developed countries, consumers show more willingness to accept SHC and the SHC market is relatively mature. In China, consumers’ attitudes towards SHC is always somewhat negative for many reasons. However, nowadays more Chinese young consumers have intentions to buy SHC partly because they want to follow the global fashion trend or to sustain the environment. To recycle and reuse waste textiles, some regulations have been issued by the Chinese government, but restrictions are still put on trading SHC and it is far from enough to formulate a perfect SHC market. The emergence of online platforms such as Idle Fish and Zhuan Zhuan stimulate the potential market and provide a new channel for trading SHC.As reducing clothing production and waste is one of the solutions to alleviate environmental burden in China, it is necessary to improve Chinese consumers’ buying behavior of SHC. This investigation is concentrated on Chinese young consumers, to gain an insight of how they think of SHC and what factors will influence their purchase behavior. A mixed method was applied in this investigation, which included the semi-structured interview and the self-completion questionnaire. Respondents are mostly from Shanghai and Shandong province, aged between 18 to 24 years old. Factors affecting Chinese young consumers’ buying behavior were assessed in three dimensions: perceived concerns, perceived values and subjective norm. When analyzing the data, comparisons between genders or districts were made. It could be observed that three words ‘unsanitary’, ‘cheap’ and ‘eco-friendly’ are used most by Chinese young consumers to express their views on SHC. Among all the factors, hygiene and safety problem is the biggest concern to a majority of Chinese young consumers. Although SHC is not prevailing in China now, it is likely for them to buy it in the future if platforms can be improved and trading SHC can be supported by the government. Since possible ways of improving buying behavior are only given through Chinese young consumers’ perspective, they should be examined from platform operators’ and government’s point of view in the future research.

A quasi-experimental pilot study examining the effects of occupation-based hand therapy on clients with hand injuries in occupational therapy practice in the Eastern Cape, South Africa

Nero, Kayla January 2021 (has links)
Magister Scientiae (Occupational Therapy) - MSc(OT) / Occupation-based hand therapy (OBHT) is an approach to practice that integrates multiple frames of reference while remaining rooted in an occupational therapy perspective. Hand function is important for participation in daily occupations. The current focus in assessment and treatment of clients in occupational therapy remains on body structure and function which is also true in South Africa. The gap in the literature about the effects of OBHT indicates that there is a need for a study in a South African context. This research was conducted to examine the influences of an OBHT among clients with hand injuries within occupational therapy practice in a South African context.
