En feministisk studie av karaktärsrepresentationerna i

Holm, Filip January 2006 (has links)

[en] STUDY OF SIGNAL DISTORTION IN ANALOGICAL OPTICAL SYSTEMS: FOR COMBINED EFFECTS OF POLARIZATION MODE DISPERSION AND POLARIZATION DEPENDENT LOSS / [pt] ESTUDO DA DISTORÇÃO DE SINAIS EM SISTEMAS ÓPTICOS ANALÓGICOS: POR EFEITOS COMBINADOS DA DISPERSÃO DOS MODOS DE POLARIZAÇÃO COM AS PERDAS DEPENDENTES DA POLARIZAÇÃO

LUIS CARLOS BLANCO LINARES 03 November 2005 (has links)
[en] In this work is presented a study of mathematical formalism to polarization of light thory, of polarization mode dispersion and polarization dependent loss and of this effects combined. Experimental measurements to characterize the devices of experimental set-up are presented, and the measure technique are mentioned here. A new theorical model to combined effects of polarization mode dispersion and polarization dependent loss is presented. Theorical and experimental curves of hamonic distortion in function of many parameters involved in theorical model prove the interferometric nature of phenomenon. Experimental measurement demonstrate a perfect agreement with modeling developed and prove differences of 5 dB with modeling presented in [6].

Crystal Clear: A Performance Guide and Electronic Accompaniment of Mario Lavista's Marsias for Oboe and Crystal Glasses

Thompson, Jonathan (Oboist) 08 1900 (has links)
Mario Lavista (b. 1943) is a dominant figure in Mexican classical music. In the second half of the twentieth century, he promoted the use of contemporary techniques, leading to a series of collaborations with expert instrumentalists to explore extended techniques. Marsias for Oboe and Crystal Glasses is one of those pieces. Due to the nature of contemporary techniques, different oboes and reed styles produce different effects with the same fingerings. This document analyzes the contemporary fingerings in the two published editions of the work in consideration of the long-scrape reed style and oboes commonly used in the United States. The contemporary techniques were played on twelve professional oboe models as a way to collect data on how the printed fingerings work. The data is the foundation for the performance guide, which details every contemporary technique in the work. The performance guide also provides comprehensive information about the crystal glass logistics. The document also presents an electronic accompaniment created with Max/MSP in the event that the crystal glasses or crystal glass players are unavailable.

[en] REAL-TIME 3D ANIMATION WITH HARMONIC AND MODAL ANALYSES / [pt] ANIMAÇÃO 3D EM TEMPO REAL COM ANÁLISES HARMÔNICAS E MODAL

CLARISSA CODA DOS SANTOS CAVALCANTI MARQUES 07 August 2013 (has links)
[en] Animation of three-dimensional characters is still a mostly manual process. Applications such as computer games and motion capture for special effects in movies require continuous intervention from the artist, who needs to guide the movement almost step by step. In such examples the available tools provide controls mainly over local details, either in space or in time. This thesis uses two analytical frameworks to deal with the process of animation: harmonic and modal analyses, allowing the description of movements with a reduced set of controls. A GPU implementation of the resulting animations allows for real-time rendering of those. In particular, it allows applications such as interactive control tuning through design galleries animated in real-time or three-dimensional music visualization. Particularly, it allows the choice of control parameters through the use of animated galleries in realtime and the use of music frequencies to guide the animation.
