This research aims to study, through an object of culture, Brazil's transition, this is to say the country in the 1970s that was no longer a rural to become definitively urban. To execute this purpose we intend to understand country music in this period, especially represented by Leo Canhoto and Robertinho. With the introduction of electric guitar, music and lyrics based in westerns, scenic elements in the shows, hippie-style clothes, among other things, they were considered a major contributor to modernize the Brazilian music of rural origin. In this case, Leo Canhoto and Robertinho had operated a mixing procedure among the factors taken as archaic and modern in our society. The path, therefore, was to analyze aspects of their trajectory in the period from 1969 to1978 trying to understand what they portray about the country in those years. In this sense, this research finds that the poetry of the songs tells us something significant about their social time

_________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / The present thesis analyzes At Swim-Two-Birds, the first novel of the Irish author Flann O´Brien (1911-1966). From today’s perspective, the novel may be seen as an early attempt at implementing the poetics of self-conscious fiction and metafiction in Western literature. Published on the eve of the Second World War, the book had sunk into oblivion until it was republished in 1960. From then on At Swim-Two-Birds has gained a critical interest and a cult following among readers. With the aid of André Gide’s concept of mise en abyme, this study seeks to map the texts appropriated by O’Brien’s novel, and reflected in the distorted mirrors of its own narrative. Those texts range from mythical and historical narratives, medieval poetry, to the early 20th-century literature.

Merg, Camila Ventura January 2007 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2013-08-07T18:59:39Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 000415436-Texto+Completo-0.pdf: 3351595 bytes, checksum: fa64f562823b7396a57d129fe944ad88 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2007 / The present dissertation aims to analyse the integralist spiritualism of the Popular Representation Party (PRP), composing a political-religious discourse. The temporal outline covered the years of the formation and the consolidation of the party, 1945 to 1950, the period in which the integralist doctrine was readapted in the context of the Brazilian return to democracy. The spiritualism was one of the elements used as a way to legitimate the party, flitting by its political conception and creating a specific form of communication. This work was guided by three basic questions: the definition of spiritualism; its relation to the organized religions; and the penetration of the religious discourse into the political formulation. The spiritualism was intrinsically connected to the concepts of integralism, which gave its philosophical foundations, and materialism, its antithesis. It was understood as the principle that postulated the belief in God, a supreme and intervening being, and the human soul, giver of liberty and responsability. The integralism divulged the existence of a supernatural order, to which the material plane was submitted; because of that, the human activities should aim the promotion of the values of the spirit, above all the material contingences. These values were identified as being Christian, with priority to Catholicism. The integralism doctrine resembled the Catholic doctrine and its partisans sought to emphasize this resemblance. The religious bias was explored in the PRP’s discourse not only as a way to attract the faithful, but also because it gave a meaning to its proposals, acting as a justification of its conservative, and sometimes authoritarian, project. This bias had na enormous influence on the PRP’s conceptions of democracy, nationalism and anticommunism. The spiritualism wasn’t just a simple part of the party’s program; it was one of its doctrinaire cornerstones, which worked as a mean of identification and as a theoretical support for the intervention of the Integralism in the post-war era.

Meyerhold‟s play shows a vast material of research about the subject and engenders, not only transformations in the theatrical play, but it also influences various groups and artists from that age. Finally, in the third chapter, The “cirquization” of the theater: Mystery-Bouffe (1918 and 1921), of Meyerhold-Mayakovsky, it was attempted to analyze the acrobatic body condition in the play and staging. There are in the plays principles and procedures already experimented by Meyerhold during the pre-Revolutionary years, as well as the ownership and usage of circus elements. This work reveals that in Russia, the majority of artists and the intelligentsia were focused on the circus activities in the beginning of the 20th century, since in that moment there was the desire of a “new man”, the harmonic and ... Images arisen from plastic arts and expressions from poetry and chats are used in this study with a double purpose: to find a picture of the cosmovision of each historical moviment and, basically, analyze the subversive force that burst of them. The clipping has been made from the 17th and 18th centuries, when the focus of science was the rationalism, as an iluminism closed system, and the belief that could be possible the apprehension of whole reality. The catastrophic facts occured beetwen the early 19th century and the half of 20th century have reached the human ideas in a such way that provoked a crisis of meaning, representation, and the question about what should be understood as science (epistemologic crisis). This question have started the argue about the mutilation maden in only considering scientific the knowledge gotten through the reason and on the violence of this totalitarian rationalism. The study follows the present time, with its inherent changes of world (interstitial relations, acceleration, complexity), to considering, eventually, the knowledge idea as product of solidarity between the reason and sensitivity, the emotion, the instinct, or either, an opened, self-critic and creative rationality, as way of thinking more clearly on true possibilities of a more conscientious science of itself and because of this catalyst of the human coexistence.
