Teisinis priesaikos institutas ir jo socialinis vaidmuo / Juridical oath institution and its social significanceSkaistys, Audrius 13 June 2011 (has links)
Tyrimo objektas ir problemos aktualumas
Tyrimo objektas.
The subject matter. In the present paper one of the inter-branch law institutes namely – the oath is being under discussion. The treatment of the problem embraces the development of law from time honored stages up to the present state. Within the period the law terms has changed considerately and the process is still in progress, especially in the sphere of the implementation of its functions. In the given paper the objects of research are the historical and native Lithuanian sources; i.e. the norms of national, international legal acts and the acts of other states in which the oath institution is called upon, as well as the Lithuanian law doctrine dealing with this problem.
The general approach to the research of the juridical Oath Institution and its social significance has a long standing tradition in Lithuania. The cognition of the concept of the oath is an organic element of the law doctrine, as an integral formation, however has never yet received a deeper research either in legal norms or in theory. The given paper is an attempt to reveal the juridical and social essence of the oath, its evolution and transformation into a really meaningful juridical regulation of values and its fitting functions. It ought to be a concentration of the fundamental values stated in the Constitution and at the same time – an instrument of the assurance of their implementation. Rephrasing prof. A. Vaišvila „when explaining law (in this... [to full text]

Product development of a handguard : For AK4 weapon system/Heckler & Koch G3Moreno Atienza, Troy, Keskitalo, Jesper January 2023 (has links)
The AK4 rifle serves as the primary weapon for the Home Guard, an integral part of the Swedish Armed Forces. Introduced in 1964, the AK4 is the Swedish version of the Heckler & Koch G3 and functions as a fully automatic assault rifle. Among its components, the handguard holds significant importance, providing stability, improving accuracy and control, and protecting the user from heat generated by the barrel. Recognizing the need for optimization, an employee from the ALTEN Group, possessing military experience and expertise in the AK4, launched a project to enhance the ergonomics and versatility of the handguard in a cost-effective manner. This initiative stems from the excessively high cost of commercially available handguards, making them financially unviable for replacing the original handguard of every AK4 used by the Home Guard personnel. This project aims to design and develop a next-generation handguard for the AK4 rifle that addresses the current limitations of the existing handguard. The primary focus is improving the shooter’s performance by establishing a comfortable shape of the handguard, reducing the weight, and enhancing its compatibility with accessories. Additionally, the aim is to ensure the handguard is cost-effective for mass production and meets the requirements set by the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration. To achieve the aims, interviews and a comprehensive user testing study was conducted, collecting quantitative data in the form of participant ratings and rankings for different design concept while also gathering qualitative data through participant feedback that highlighted specific design features contributing to comfort. Additionally, a systematic material selection process was performed, involving the analysis and ranking of various materials based on properties such as weight, price, and specific mechanical properties. Furthermore, the manufacturing analysis relied mainly on conversations with industry experts possessing expertise in the field of plastic manufacturing. Upon conducting a detailed analysis, it has been determined that the ideal configuration for the final product is an octagonal shape. After careful evaluation, Polyamide 6 reinforced with 30% glass fibers has emerged as the most suitable material choice for the handguard. This material had the optimal balance between mechanical properties, thermal performance, durability, cost-effectiveness, and environmental impact. To produce 50,000 handguard units, the recommended manufacturing method was injection molding due to its compatibility with mass production and the advice received from industry experts. Considering the design and selected material, a substantial number of the requirements outlined by FMV could be fulfilled by conducting both theoretical analyses and practical experiments.

Lönen är allt...eller? : Kampen om den kompetente och motiverade officerenLindqvist, Niclas, Gjersvold, Jonas January 2024 (has links)
The Swedish Armed Forces are in the middle of a crisis when 30% of professional officers retire in the next few years. It is difficult to recruit and retain personnel with the required skills and experience for Military Region Groups within the Home Guard Combat Force. The study is based on a hermeneutic paradigm with an inductive approach and qualitative method. The method included four workshops with personell within and outside military regions and four interviews with representatives from the HR function in the Armed Forces. The result is reported as Grounded Theory. The results revealed four themes: instrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation, the conditions of the organization and the mission, and working relationships that highlight what attracts and retain professional officers in a military region group. The study describes four conclusions: Professional officers fromn all three generations in the study are attracted to meaningful work tasks. Certain nuances between the generations´motivational factors occur and need to be taken into account in recrutiment, Professional officers from all three generations in the study cite both internal and external motivational factors as reasons for staying. Intrinsic motivation inludes geographical location and family siutation, extrinsic motivation inludes relevant salary development, The Home Guard Combat Force lacks a functioning personell supply system and cannot ensure that the vacancies within each military region are filled to a sufficient extent, The Home Guard Combat Force needs to work more activelu with internal marketing within the Swedish Armed Forces.
