Vertimo technologijos konceptualus modelis ir jo taikymas kompiuterizuoto vertimo sistemose / Conceptual Model of Translation-Memory-Technology and Use in the Computerized Systems of TranslationsKovaliov, Ivan 18 January 2006 (has links)
„A translation memory is a multilingual text archive containing (segmented, aligned, parsed and classified) multilingual texts, allowing storage and retrieval of aligned multilingual text segments against various search conditions.” TRANSMEM offers modern technologies for conducting and updatings of databases of the executed translations. Keeping work performed by the translator, TRANSMEM provides high efficiency and real profit in the future projects. The database of the executed translations releases the translator from repeated, taking away it is a lot of operating time, the translator keeps the full control over the maintenance and quality of the text. One of attractive features of system “Transmem” - the translator can work with a familiar word-processor – Open.Office.org. TRANSMEM compiles a linguistic database (TM) on the second plan while translators work in Open.Office.org. TM keeps the initial text and its corresponding translation. When there is a new segment (a phrase or the offer) the system immediately compares it with kept in TM segments. If identical or similar initial the segment is, it is displayed together with translation. Words and phrases which differ from the kept text, are highlighted by system. The translator makes a decision: to edit, reject or accept translation. Each change or new translation are kept in ТМ. As a result, the same offer should be never translated manually twice.

Trijų padavimo linijų automatinė plovimo stotis pienvežių talpoms plauti / Three feed lines CIP (clean-in-place) station for cleaning of milk-float's tanksKiguolis, Donatas 04 January 2007 (has links)
Qualitative cleaning of the equipment is very important for the food industry, especially dairy sector, and for ensuring the quality of the product. Very high hygiene requirements make the manufacturers take care of the cleanliness of the equipment they use. It is essential for the dirt not to get into food produce or its germs to increase. The aim of this work is to design an automatic three-feed-line washing station for cleaning milk-float tanks. First, the environment of the system that is being designed was analyzed. Then, a principled scheme of the cleaning station was made and the requirements for the software were set. To put this project into practice the software and equipment of the "Siemens" company were chosen as its production occupies the biggest part of the market of Lithuania. The usage of the "Siemens" software and equipment enables to extend and network the system. The requirements raised for the functioning of the cleaning station have been formed considering the requirements for the cleaning stations used in the world as well as taking into account the practical advantages and disadvantages of the familiar cleaning stations. With reference to these requirements better software for the cleaning station was created. Having the system implemented, the cleaning process would be faster, more qualitative and economical. The current service staff of the cleaning station would be optimized.

Duomenų srautų ir skaičiavimo resursų paskirstymas didelio gabarito video ekranuose / Data flow and computing resourses in large scale LED screens calculation and analysisBrazys, Nerijus 30 May 2005 (has links)
Data flow and computing resourses in large scale LED screens calculation and analysis is presented. It has been proved that due to specifics of LED screen control large data flows are born which for a reduction. Also, there is a demand for LED screen control hardware price reduction. By application of distributed computing by means of screen processors implementation in comes possible to reduce the data flow load on main processing unit. Thanks to this personal computer can be implemented for screen control as main processing unit. Due to above mentioned modifications PC becomes responsible only for data format unification. Main data processing is implemented in distributed network of screen processors. This further allows to use standard ethernet transmission and distribution equipment, leaving space for system future development.

Using Primo for undergraduate research: a usability studyKliewer, Greta, Monroe-Gulick, Amalia, Gamble, Stephanie, Radio, Erik 21 November 2016 (has links)
Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to observe how undergraduate students approach open-ended searching for a research assignment, specifically as it affected their use of the discovery interface Primo. Design/methodology/approach - In total, 30 undergraduate students were provided with a sample research assignment and instructed to find resources for it using web tools of their choice, followed by the Primo discovery tool. Students were observed for 30 minutes. A survey was provided at the end to solicit additional feedback. Sources students found were evaluated for relevance and utility. Findings - Students expressed a high level of satisfaction with Primo despite some difficulty navigating through more complicated tasks. Despite their interest in the tool and previous exposure to it, it was usually not the first discovery tool students used when given the research assignment. Students approached the open-ended search environment much like they would with a commercial search engine. Originality/value - This paper focused on an open-ended search environment as opposed to a known- item scenario in order to assess students' preferences for web search tools and how a library discovery layer such as Primo was a part of that situation. Evaluation of the resources students found relevant were also analyzed to determine to what degree the students understood the level of quality they exhibited and from which tool they were obtained.

Information technologies, e-skills and job performanceOmrani, Nessrine 24 September 2012 (has links)
This thesis is devoted to analyzing the impact of Information Technologies (IT) on workers’performance in the labor market. It aims to measure the impacts of e-skills’ acquisition on workers’performance in order to discover the most suitable strategies to adopt by policy-makers and firms’management. In order to do this, the approach consists of two complementary layers of e-skills’acquisition needed in the labor market: On one hand, lifelong learning in the workplace qualified asshort-term strategies of e-skills’ acquisition. On the other hand, trainings acquired during schoollearning and mainly at university qualified as long-term strategies. Consequently, two complementaryinvestigations have been elaborated. The first one has contributed to provide original results regardingshort-term strategies. In the French and European context, the contributions of e-skills to animprovement in workers’ contextual performance have been shown. The second investigation, whichconcerns long-term strategies, focused on how students acquire e-skills in France and theircontribution to academic performance.Four chapters are the backbone of this work. The first chapter concerns the impact of IT use on workers’ contextual performance in Europe. Results show the positive impact of such use on workers’ contextual performance. Without e-skillsindicators, this use is confused with the ability to use IT.Recognizing the limitations of this approach, despite its wide coverage, a deeper analysis isprovided in the second chapter. The second chapter focuses on the role of e-skills on workers’contextual performance in the French context. On one hand, results show a positive effect of e-skills’level on workers’ contextual performance. On the other hand, they show differentiated impacts whenlooking into each component of contextual performance separately. These results do not challenge therole of e-skills in improving workers’ performance and particularly their contextual ones, but theystress the need to focus on the strategies to acquire and maintain the e-skills’ level needed for efficientuse of IT.The last two chapters are devoted to defining the strategies that facilitate e-skills’ acquisition. The third chapter allows the short-term strategies acquired within the firm to be identified. Results of this chapter show the positive impact of IT use and trainings on workers’ e-skills. Thus,short-term strategies focus on the need of IT access at work and at home, encouraging professionaland personal IT use, providing IT training for workers and encouraging them to try collaborative workin different tasks. The fourth chapter focuses on the long-term strategies of e-skills’ acquisition acquired atuniversity. The chapter reveals the primordial role of students’ involvement, the diversity of learningmethods and collaborative work on students’ (future workers) e-skills. Our results highlight theimportance of establishing an educational system based on collaborative learning where theknowledge is built with students and not just delivered by the teacher.
