Etude transcriptionnelle et post-transcriptionnelle de la région IR L/TR L du virus de la maladie de Marek / Transcriptionnal and post-transcriptionnal regulation of IRL/TRL regions of Marek's disease virus

Coupeau, Damien 09 June 2011 (has links)
Gallid Herpesvirus 2 (GaHV-2) is a herpesvirus inducing T-lymphoma in chickens. Its genome encodes 25mature miRNAs splitted in two clusters localized in IRL/TRL and IRS/TRS repeated regions. In this work, wefirst analyzed the functionality of the two strands of mdv1-pre-miR-M4 on two viral targets named UL-28 andUL-32. As one strand of this miRNA was identified as an ortholog of cellular miRNA-155, their effects wereassessed on six cellular targets and on the UL-28 viral target. As a differential expression of miRNAs wasobserved during GaHV-2 infection, we found numerous IRL/TRL transcripts responsible for the intronic orexonic transcription of viral miRNAs. Moreover, we identified a latency promoter controlling at the same timetranscription of all IRL/TRL miRNAs, the oncogenic meq gene and the Meq/v-IL8 transcript.

Reconfigurabilidade dinâmica e remota de FPGAs. / Dynamic and remote reconfiguration of FPGAs.

Ribeiro, Alexandre Alves de Lima 22 August 2002 (has links)
In this work it was studied several architectures of FPGAs devices available in the market, seeking the use of this technology in architectures of reconfigurable computing. It was specifically researched resources and techniques of dynamic reconfiguration of these devices. The Governance Style of Irl Allison, Sr., as Evidenced in Documentation of the Development of the National Guild of Piano Teachers, 1929-1963

Hatch, Sarah J. 08 1900 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to examine the governance style of Irl Allison, Sr., as evidenced in documentation of the development of the NGPT. The questions guiding the study were to find: (1) how Dr. Allison involved others in the early development of the Guild; (2) whether he resolved issues of importance to the development of the Guild in consultation with others or by himself, and (3) how issues of concern to the membership were resolved.

Context-awareness for adaptive information retrieval systems

Agbele, Kehinde Kayode January 2014 (has links)
Philosophiae Doctor - PhD / This research study investigates optimization of IRS to individual information needs in order of relevance. The research addressed development of algorithms that optimize the ranking of documents retrieved from IRS. In this thesis, we present two aspects of context-awareness in IR. Firstly, the design of context of information. The context of a query determines retrieved information relevance. Thus, executing the same query in diverse contexts often leads to diverse result rankings. Secondly, the relevant context aspects should be incorporated in a way that supports the knowledge domain representing users’ interests. In this thesis, the use of evolutionary algorithms is incorporated to improve the effectiveness of IRS. A context-based information retrieval system is developed whose retrieval effectiveness is evaluated using precision and recall metrics. The results demonstrate how to use attributes from user interaction behaviour to improve the IR effectiveness

In Real Life (Or Elsewhere) : om kreativa processer och parallella verkligheter i dokumentärfilm

Nevanti, Kirsi January 2017 (has links)
Reality isn’t what it appears to be. Contexts are not always clear and visible. People don’t always say what they really mean. And they don’t always mean what they say. When life is your stage manager, anything can happen. I often say, life is hard, my head is harder. Making documentaries is not for the faint-hearted.This PhD project explores creative processes and parallel realities in documentary film, and discusses and conceptualizes the artistic practice of documentary filmmaking. The project consists in part of artistic works and essays that are critical reflections on the creative process and how that process can be conceptualized. The cinematic centerpiece of the thesis is entitled Images and the Worlds of Being (2011–2016). Previous subprojects are A Shift Between Worlds (2013–2015) and an essay book entitled In Real Life (or Elsewhere) (2013). Between 2013 and 2017, more essays were written, some of them translated to English. All the Swedish essays are available in PDF format. All of the works in the PhD project explore creative processes and parallel realities in two different ways: A Shift Between Worlds (2013–2015) explores identity and parallel realities in the gendered world. These works are based on two workshops led by Diane Torr, “Man for a Day” and “Woman for a Day.” They resulted in several component works, including two video essays, two audio works and two large-format photographic works, the latter in collaboration with photographer Johan Bergmark, as well as a short commentary film entitled Diane Speaks Out (2016). Images and the Worlds of Being (2011–2016) – a VR Classic Style film – explores what happens when documentary images are shown on four screens forming the walls of a room. This work also focuses on the view through the camera lens through which the filmmaker meets the world, in a hypnotic tapestry of parallel realities in a tenderly portrayed, runaway present. A sort of logical reasoning about the illogic of our era, in search of elusive reality (to paraphrase Jean Baudrillard) – the presence in the act of seeing. An experiment in the forms of visual knowledge, outside the traditional display windows. Shooting location: The World.
