Using IBIS Model for Signal Integrity and EMI Analysis in FDTD Method SimulationLin, Yu-Chen 23 July 2003 (has links)
Recently clock rates in digital system reach in GHz range, and therefore EMC problems were occurred. Based on the FDTD modeling approach, signal integrity (SI) and electromagnetic radiation (EMI) for high-speed digital circuits to get accurate results ,including the active IC into FDTD method is the key issue on the printed circuit boards (PCB) are investigated.
IBIS (I/O buffer information specification) model is one of the good choices to show the behavior of digital devices. In this paper we propose the way of linking IBIS model of the active IC into FDTD to study about EMC problem in high-speed PCB. Several examples are demonstrated for checking the accuracy of the approach. By combining with experimental results, the combining method show good accuracy both in SI and EMI.

Poetry of Maledictions: A Commentary on the Ibis of OvidGordon, Carol Jean 09 1900 (has links)
The Ibis of Ovid, an enigmatic poem written during the poet's exile at Tomis, contains a series of violent and allusive imprecations drawn from history and mythology. The purpose of this dissertation is to provide a detailed study of the poem, to aid readers in their understanding and appreciation of the historiae caecae and ambages in which Ovid takes such delight; accordingly, an introductory chapter attempts to outline the historical and literary background to the poem, with particular attention devoted to placing the poem more firmly within the sphere of imprecatory writing in the ancient world. Following this is an explanatory commentary which covers models, parallels for topoi, and explanations of references, meanings, and allusions in the Ibis. Inevitably, this commentary is indebted to the efforts of previous commentators; however, I have endeavor throughout to suggest additional lines of inquiry and to provide a fresh perspective on a challenging work. / Thesis / Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Úprava mezinárodní příslušnosti soudů v nařízení Brusel Ibis / Regulation of international jurisdiction of courts in Brussels lbis regulationPosltová, Michaela January 2022 (has links)
1 Abstract: Regulation of international jurisdiction of courts in Brussels Ibis Regulation The master thesis deals with the regulation of international jurisdiction of courts regulated by Brussels Ibis Regulation. The main aim of the master thesis is to analyse the topic of prorogation, in particular the general definition of the prorogation agreement and the regulation of prorogation in the Brussels Ibis Regulation, including prorogation agreements concluded with weaker contracting party. The thesis is divided into 4 chapters, which are further divided into subchapters. The first chapter introduces the Brussels Ibis Regulation and defines its substantive, temporal, personal and territorial scope of application. The presence of an international element is also required for the application of Brussels Ibis Regulation. The thesis deals with the rules of general, alternative, special, exclusive, agreed international jurisdiction and of submission to international jurisdiction. It also describes the hierarchy of these rules. The second chapter focuses on the topic of prorogation, which is essential for the thesis. It clarifies the concept of the prorogation agreement, explains its importance and character. It deals with the effects of the prorogation agreement and divides prorogation agreements into exclusive...

VALIDAÇÃO DO MODELO Agro-IBIS PARA UM SÍTIO EXPERIMENTAL DE SOJA NO RIO GRANDE DO SUL / Agro-IBIS MODEL VALIDATION AT A SOYBEAN EXPERIMENTAL SITE IN RIO GRANDE DO SULWebler, Geovane 24 March 2011 (has links)
Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The Agro-IBIS model is validated for a soybean experimental site in the state of Rio Grande
do Sul. This experiment is conducted in order to evaluate the impact of different soil
management systems on different areas of science. In the site, we obtained
micrometeorological measures of energy, mass and water exchanges between the soybean
ecosystem and the environment during the 2009/2010 soybean growing season. We used two
management systems: (1) no-tillage system (NT) and (2) conventional tillage system (CT).
The model was forced with meteorological data from the Brazilian National Institute of
Meteorology (INMET). The results of the model were compared with the observed data in
order to evaluate the capacity of the model in simulating the interaction of the soybean
ecosystem with environment and also to verify the effects of surface coverage by crop
residues in NT. Since the model does not have the representation of crop residues, i.e., of NT,
its effects are not expected in the simulation results. The results indicate that the model
simulates the radiative balance and flows of energy in a satisfactory way. Besides this, soil
moisture in the 0-20 cm and 20-50 cm layers and the 0-50 cm integration as well as soil
temperature at 2 cm are simulated in a suitable way. For soil moisture, the simulated results
represent better the observed data in CT, indicating that the effect of soil coverage by crop
residues is not simulated. In the variables related to CO2, the model has problems concerning
the simulation of the ecosystem respiration, which is strongly underestimated. This leads to an
inconsistency in the simulation of the others variable related to CO2, mainly of those which
consider the night-time data, since at night the net CO2 exchange of the ecosystem (NEE) is
the respiration. For the daytime CO2 the model shows good performance, except in the period
of leaf senescence, when the model indicates CO2 uptake by the ecosystem and the
experimental data indicate emission. / O modelo Agro-IBIS é validado para um sítio experimental com o cultivo de soja no
estado do Rio Grande do Sul.

Integrated circuits miniaturization, high operating frequencies, lower supply voltages, high-density integration make digital signals propagating on interconnects highly vulnerable to degradation. Assessing EMC and signal integrity in the early stages of the design flow requires accurate interconnect models allowing for efficient time-domain simulations. In this context, our work addressed the issue of behavioral modeling of transmission line buffers, and particularly that of drivers. The main result is an original modeling approach partially based on Volterra-Laguerre series. The black box models we developed have a fairly simple implementation in SPICE thus allowing a very good portability. They are easy to identify and have a parametric complexity allowing a large gain in simulation time with respect to transistor driver models. In addition, the developed methods allow a more accurate output port nonlinear dynamics modeling, and a more general management of inputs. A very good reproduction of driver behaviour in overclocking conditions provides a significant advantage over standard IBIS models.

Looking Back to Go Forward: Student Evaluations of Experiences in African-Centered Educational InstitutionsVassall, Ivan N, III 07 May 2016 (has links)
In educational research, a prevalent topic of discussion is African-centered pedagogy. This phenomenological study records the unique perspectives of adults who specifically grew up in African-centered learning environments from a young age. The sample includes 10 African American adults, aged 18-45, from various cities in the United States. Mixed methods are applied in this study: group concept mapping strategies are implemented to yield both qualitative and quantitative results for analysis. Data is further supplemented with one-on-one interviews, and a review of themes from interview transcripts using multiple coding processes. Findings from this particular demographic can add another dimension to the current literature on the relevancy and need for culturally relevant pedagogical practice for African-American children. The ultimate goal of this generative study is to serve as a resource for educators, parents and students – which includes documented practices and methods for further consideration and application.

Quantifying wading bird resource selection and nesting effort: a tool for the restoration of pulsed ecosystemsUnknown Date (has links)
Understanding the link between indicator species and their environment is imperative to managing and conserving anthropogenically-altered ecosystems. Seasonally-pulsed wetlands are uniquely complex ecosystem where water-level fluctuations shape trophic interactions. Anthropogenic manipulation of water-level fluctuation threatens the integrity of these systems worldwide. Wading birds, a group of species sensitive to landuse changes and fluctuating habitat conditions, serve as important indicators for wetland health. I used wading birds in the Everglades, as a model system to address the challenges of environmental restoration within an ecosystem heavily impacted by anthropogenic activities. Specifically, I 1) identified the nesting response of Great Egret (Ardea alba), White Ibis (Eudocimus albus), and Wood Stork (Mycteria americana) to hydrologically-mediated changes in food availability and 2) quantified spatiotemporal foraging-habitat selection of Great Egrets, White Ibis, and Wood Storks to fluctuating hydrologic conditions. Collectively, model selection results suggest food availability, generated through dynamic hydrological conditions, is a strong predictor of the abundance of nesting birds in a given year. Great egret and white ibis produce the highest nests numbers in years when the frequency of days of rising water is low. Wood stork nest numbers are the highest in years with high prey production coupled with continuous prey availability. My study of resource selection indicated wading birds select foraging sites based on similar hydrologic parameters, but the response varies by species. Wood storks are more likely to forage in shallow cells (< 10 cm) drying with high recession rates (0.5-1.5 cm/day), and long time since last drydown (600 days). White ibises selected foraging cells with relatively shallow water depths (0-15 cm), intermediate recession rates (0.5-1.0 cm/day), and long time since drydown (600 days). Great egrets selected foraging cells with a wider range of water depths (0-20 cm) where recession rates were lower (0.5 cm/day). All species are more likely to forage in cells where water has not increased by more than 3 cm in the previous two weeks. These differences in resource selections correspond to morphological and behavioral differences in the species, whereby wood storks were more constrained hydrologically and would be more affected by water-level manipulation. / Includes bibliography. / Dissertation (Ph.D.)--Florida Atlantic University, 2017. / FAU Electronic Theses and Dissertations Collection
