Rönkkö, Katja January 2013 (has links)
The significance of local and international non-governmental organizations in society has beenincreasing quite rapidly. Nevertheless, the research concerning international NGOs internalactivities has not evolved in phase with the growing roles of NGOs’. The internal communicationand organizational culture have significant role on how NGOs works externally. The aim of thisstudy is to gain knowledge on WWF’s (World Wide Fund for Nature) internal communication andorganizational culture. This is achieved by researching the communicational processes aroundWWF’s global “Engaging hundreds of millions” -objective and reflecting the findings on theapproaches and theories among organizational culture and sensemaking. WWF is one of the world’slargest environmental international NGO with over 5,000 employees worldwide. The study bases onthe experiences of WWF’s managing communicators, and it reveals that a majority of them feel thatthe internal communication in the Network does not work as effectively as they hope. According tothe results, many people feel that the internal communication and participation to differentprocesses is unsatisfactory mainly because clear practices and opportunities to participate arelacking. However, the study also reveals that there is a substantial enthusiasm and will to improvethe practices together within the WWF Network.

Enjeux et perceptions liés à la mise en place d'une démarche participative dans un contexte marketing interne : la RATP comme étude de cas / Issues and perceptions related to the establishment of a participatory approach in an internal marketing context : RATP as a case study

Ranchoux-Soulat, Charlotte 20 November 2015 (has links)
Anchored in the field of internal marketing, this work investigates the phenomenon of employee participation in decision-making. Inside an interpretivist paradigm, it adopts a qualitative and comprehensive approach, based on a case study method. We choose the case of the initiative "Vision 2020", set up with RATP employees in order to create the 2013 to 2020 business plan. Addressed in a systemic and interactional perspective, specific to the communication approach of Palo Alto, the findings result from an abductive reasoning and are built using an iterative process that goes back and forth between theory, collection and analysis of empirical data. The analysis and interpretation of data collected by triangulation thus allow us to address the notion of participation from three angles, adopting the point of view of employees: the conceptualization of the phenomenon of participation, the objectives and effects of this type of initiative and the elements influencing the attitude of employees towards it. This work highlights major challenges inherent in employee participation, such as the monitoring of participatory action, the importance of media, changing the attitude of employees during the implementation of this type action, or the special role of the manager in this type of initiative. It proposes a theorization of existing management practices.

Sustainability Report : A fine facade or the clothing industry's path to legitimacy?

Söderberg, Cecilia, Zbib, Wafaa January 2011 (has links)

Therefor couldn’t the organizational identity be defined and described. The study showed that a majority of the employees have a negative perspective on the organization which goes hand in hand with the organization’s image. Internal Strategies for Assessing Organizational Communication Channel Effectiveness

Murphy, Melvin Murphy 01 January 2017 (has links)
Evolving communication technology, the increased volume of information needed by businesses, and the intensified competitive environment have made internal company communication more critical to business success. The purpose of this multiple case study was to explore strategies used by managers and leaders of 3 law firms in the Commonwealth of Virginia for assessing the effectiveness of their organization's internal communication channels. The participating firms were recognized by their peers as being exceptionally well-managed. Data from interviews and company documents were analyzed through the conceptual lens of the channel expansion theory and the use of software coding to identify patterns and themes. Three important themes emerged: informal assessment strategies, indirect assessment strategies, and efficient versus timely assessments. The first theme suggested the effectiveness of an informal assessment strategy, depending on the size and complexity of the organization. The second theme reflected the effectiveness of an indirect assessment for organizations that lack the resources to support a more direct and specific assessment process. The third theme reflected the participants' perceptions of informal and indirect assessments may be more efficient, the feedback from the assessments are often less timely. Managers may consider these themes in formulating communication policies. The findings of this case study may have implications for positive social and economic change. Small professional service firms, such as legal firms, provide important services to individuals, families, and businesses in their community.

Blinke, Emmy, Nilsson, Anna January 2014 (has links)
Aim: The purpose of this study is to create an understanding of how management in service companies work practically with the internal communication of the company's core values, vision and culture of the entire organization. Method: Empirical data were collected through interviews and therefore subject to the qualitative approach. Semi-structured interviews have been conducted on four different real estate brokerage firms. The collected data is then analyzed by an abductive method of analysis inspired by A well grounded theory. Result & Conclusions: The results from this study shows that it’s mainly about getting the organization to live the corporate identity in the everyday life. In order to succeed with this, companies is using different communication channels, training programs and inspirational activities, thus lectures and competitions. It is also important that the management appears admirably, and that the message of the brand is imbued in all corporate activities. Suggestions for future research: We suggest that future studies can be dedicated to how corporate brands monitoring its internal branding. Another proposal is to study the effects of internal brand building based on employees' perspective, as previous research indicates that employees may perceive the brand in different ways.Contribution of the thesis: Since there is no empirical studies related to internal branding, we believe that our contribution of this study is that we have created an understanding of how management in service companies communicates corporate identity internally within the organization. We have neither found any previous study that focused on the internal branding work exclusively in the real estate brokerage firm, and therefore believe that we have contributed knowledge to this industry.
