Multinational corporations (MNCs) encounter intricate challenges as they expand their global presence, which demands strategic decision-making. The selection of an entry mode significantly impacts various aspects of a firm's operations, stakeholder relationships and long-term performance. This thesis focuses on Swedish companies entering the US market to investigate how Internal Factors and Host Country Conditions shape entry mode strategies. The primary objective is to deepen the understanding of interactions between internal firm demands and external conditions when evaluating entry mode choices. The study considers Internal Factors such as dissemination risk, control, and resource commitment, as well as Host Country Conditions including culture, market attractiveness, legal environment, and uncertainty. The key findings highlight a discrepancy between the recommended entry modes in each category, emphasizing the importance for firms to assess the relative significance of each category and prioritize one over the other. This approach enables firms to gain a clearer understanding of how to effectively enter the market.

Modellen har funnits i cirka 50 år och nått stor spridning. Vad har forskningen om swot-modellen hittills kommit fram till? Hur ser små- och medelstora företag i Gävleregionen på modellen i sina praktiker?   Syfte:                                  Syftet med uppsatsen är att göra en state-of-the-art genomgång av forskningen om swot-modellen samt visa hur en grupp regionala små- och medelstora företag använder modellen samt kritiskt testa Framför-databasens potential som empiriskt material. Avsikten är att lägga en grund samt skapa en utgångspunkt för fortsatt forskning om modellen som verktyg för företagsutveckling i den regionala miljön.                                             Metod:                                Studien bygger på en genomgång av ett stort antal forskningsartiklar om swot-modellen. De flesta artiklar analyserar enskilda aspekter av modellen, medan några visar sig ge en översikt över olika modellstudier. Eftersom det visar sig att ytterst få studier redovisar empiriska data om modellens användning och fortsatta empiriska studier behövs, har en genomgång också gjorts av swot-kommentarer i en databas för regionala företag – det så kallade Framför-projektet som drivs av bland annat Svenskt Näringsliv, Aktiv Revision och kommunerna i Gästrikland. I databasen finns registrerade data för små- och medelstora företag, åren 2002-2012. Databasen bygger på standardiserade intervjuer där svar registrerats om swot-data. Baserade på dessa har en sekundäranalys gjorts och den empiriska genomgången har behandlats som en pilotstudie om företags beskrivning av interna faktorer.   Resultat & slutsatser:       Studien ger en analys av forskningen om swot-modellen. Den visar att antalet teoretiska studier om swot-modellen ökat, medan få empiriska studier gjorts. Den empiriska delen visar att företagen i regel är väl förtrogna med modellen, men inte alltid har aktuella värden för dess huvudkategorier. The model has existed approximately 50 years and has attained a big spread. What has the present research on swot concluded? How do small- and medium sized firms in the region of Gävle treat the model in their practices?   Aim:                                    The aim of the thesis is to do a state-of-the-art review on the research concerning the swot-model, and to show how a group of regional small- and medium sized firms use the model as well as to conduct a critical examination of the Framför-databases potential as empirical substance. The intention is to form a basis and starting point for future research, regarding to the model as a tool for business development in the regional environment.   Method:                             The study is founded on a review of a big number of research papers about the swot-model. Most of them analyze certain aspects of the model, while others seem to give a summary over different model studies. Since there has been shown to be exceedingly few studies who account for empirical data about the models use and further empirical studies is needed, a review of a database containing swot-comments – the so called Framför-project which is run by the Federation of Swedish Enterprise, Aktiv Revision and the municipalities in Gästrikland, has also been carried out. In the database there are registered data for small- and medium sized firms between the years 2002-2012. The database builds on standardized interviews of which swot-data have been registered. Based on this, secondary analysis has been carried out and the empirical review has been attended as a pilot study about firms’ descriptions of their internal factors.   Result & Conclusions:      The study provides an analyze on research concering the swot-model. It shows that the number of theoretical studies about the swot-model has increased, while few empirical studies have been carried out. The empirical part of the study shows that the firms generally are well familiar with the model, but that they don’t always have current values for its main categories. The current database needs to be strengthened and the model given a better connection to active realization.   Suggestions for future research:                 Future research is needed about the firms strategic decision situations with the swot-model as an evaluation tool as starting point, and possibly other complementing theories/models.   Contribution of the thesis:                          The thesis provides an overview over the research up until now concerning the swot-model, its use and usefulness for different organizations. Notre recherche a pour but d’étudier la culture e-learning et l’acceptation de l’intégration des technologies de la communication dans les pratiques pédagogiques des enseignants du français langue étrangère première, dans le contexte d’une activité de formation continue au Liban. Sur le plan théorique, elle s’est basée sur le modèle IntersTICES plus particulièrement la dimension culture e-learning. Nous avons adapté l’activité IntersTICES Type aux besoins et contextes spécifiques de ces enseignants puis nous l’avons mis à l’essai et avons évalué ses impacts sur leur culture e-learning. L’adaptation de l’activité IntersTICES Type a été basée sur le référentiel des compétences des enseignants publié par le centre de recherche et de développement pédagogique du Liban. La problématique de cette recherche s’est articulée autour de l’activité IntersTICES Type et de son utilisation dans le contexte libanais en vue de favoriser l’acceptation de l’utilisation des technologies de l’information et de la communication par les enseignants du français langue étrangère première. La méthodologie adoptée est celle d’une recherche de type action-formation qui nous a amené à collecter des données à plusieurs sources afin de pouvoir étudier à la fois le processus d’adaptation de l’activité, son développement, sa mise à l’essai et ses impacts. Un journal de bord a permis de garder trace et de témoigner du processus et des principales adaptations et de sa mise en place dans une activité de formation continue. Des questionnaires pré et post-intervention ont été utilisés afin d’analyser les impacts sur la culture e-learning et la satisfaction des participants. Une entrevue semi-structurée, post intervention a été réalisée afin d’enrichir nos données et notre analyse. Notre recherche a permis d’avoir un regard inédit sur l'effet de l'intervention-formation sur l’acceptation de l’utilisation des TIC par un groupe d’enseignants de langue française libanais et son intégration dans leurs activités pédagogiques après la formation. Aussi, elle nous a permis de mieux saisir leur intention de continuer à utiliser les TIC dans leur enseignement. Nous avons aussi recueilli et tenu compte des modifications et des suggestions des participants pour améliorer les outils et l’intervention-formation. Les principaux résultats de cette recherche sur la culture e-learning se résument comme suit. Au niveau des représentations, nous avons notamment relevé les rôles prépondérants que joue la confiance en soi, la variété des outils technologiques utilisés et la richesse pédagogique des supports sur l’acceptation de l’intégration des TIC dans l’enseignement du français. Au niveau des attitudes, nous avons constaté que, suite à l’intervention-formation, un meilleur sentiment d’auto efficacité s’est développé. Quant aux habiletés avec les TIC, elles se sont développées au fil de l’activité. Finalement, grâce à l’accompagnement situé mis en place durant l’intervention-formation, les pratiques d’intégration des TIC par les enseignants, et par leurs élèves, ont été bonifiées. Au sujet de l’acceptation de l’utilisation des TIC, nous avons pu identifier des obstacles externes comme le manque de formation adéquate et l’absence d’un « techno-pédagogue » dans leur milieu. Quant aux obstacles internes, nous avons identifié certaines caractéristiques individuelles des enseignants comme l’anxiété technologique, le rejet d’utilisation des TIC dans l’enseignement et de la tension dans les relations avec les collègues. Les conditions facilitatrices les plus importantes soulignées par les participants sont essentiellement des conditions liées aux ressources matérielles, à une formation pédagogique adéquate et aux caractéristiques individuelles des enseignants comme la confiance en soi et l’intention d’utilisation des TIC. L’engagement personnel des enseignants et leur ouverture au changement se sont avérés aussi des conditions facilitatrices de l’acceptation. L’intervention-formation suivant le modèle IntersTICES et la recherche-action qui l’a accompagnée a fourni à tous les participants une occasion de réflexion et de sensibilisation aux divers aspects de leur culture e-learning. Une activité de formation basée sur le modèle IntersTICES s’est avérée une valeur ajoutée intéressante sur l’intégration des TIC par les enseignants du français langue étrangère première au Liban. / Our research aimed at studying the acceptance of the integration of communication technologies into the pedagogical practices of teachers of French as a first foreign language, as part of continuing education in Lebanon. On the theoretical level, it was based on the IntersTICES model and particularly its e-learning dimension. We adapted the IntersTICES Type activity to the specific needs and contexts of these teachers, and then we tested it and evaluated its impact of the training activity on their e-learning culture. The adaptation of the IntersTICES Type activity was also based on the teacher competency framework published by the Center for Educational Research and Development of Lebanon. The problem of this research was thus articulated around the IntersTICES Type activity and its use in the Lebanese context with a view to promoting the acceptance of the use of information and communication technologies by teachers of French as a foreign language. The adopted methodology was an action-training research that allowed us to collect data through pre- and post-intervention questionnaires developed for this purpose and the semi-structured interview. It allowed us to have an unprecedented look at the effect of the training intervention on the acceptance of the use of information and communication technologies by teachers and its implementation in their educational activities integrating ICT. Also, it allowed us to better understand their intention to continue to use ICT in their teaching. We identified the changes needed for integration and the participant’s suggestions for improving the ICT tools and the training intervention. The main results of this research on e-learning culture can be summarized as follows. At the level of representations, we notably noted the preponderant roles played by self-confidence, the variety of technological tools used and the educational richness of the supports on the acceptance of the integration of ICT in the teaching of French. At the level of attitudes, we found that, following the intervention-training, a better feeling of self-efficacy developed. As for ICT skills, they have developed over the course of the activity. Finally, thanks to the local support put in place during the intervention-training, the ICT integration practices by teachers and their students were improved. On the acceptance of the use of ICT, we identified external barriers such as lack of adequate training and lack of a “techno-pedagogue”. In terms of internal barriers, we identified barriers related to individual teacher characteristics such as technological anxiety, rejection of use ICT in education, disruption of classroom teacher behavior, and tension in relationships with colleagues. The most important enabling conditions identified by the respondents in our study are essentially conditions related to material resources, teacher training and the individual characteristics of teachers. The personal commitment of teachers and their openness to change have also turned out to be individual characteristics that constitute enabling conditions for acceptance. The intention of use and the will emerge as important internal factors contributing to the acceptance of the use of a technology. Self-confidence is a key element in accepting the use of ICTs in education. The decision to adopt or reject the technology essentially depends on these two internal factors. The training intervention following the IntersTICES model and the accompanying action research provided all participants with an opportunity to reflect and raise awareness of various aspects of their e-learning culture. A training activity based on the IntersTICES model proved to be an interesting added value on the integration of ICT by teachers of French as a first language in Lebanon.

The thesis concerns the causes why do graduates of the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen perform better on the labour market than their colleagues at the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts at the University of Pardubice. The thesis tries to find out what factors it is caused by. It wants to contribute to identify the appropriate measures to improve the employability of the humanities graduates. We distinguish between external and internal factors. The selection of all factors is explained and justified in detail. External factors are labour market segmentation and regional labour market situation. Internal factors are prestige of the college, professional experience while studying, extent of emphasis on soft skills in teaching and range of career counselling. The thesis is two case studies and its goal is to offer a profound and comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon being researched. Structured interviews with employees of career centres of the University of Pardubice and the University of West Bohemia were utilised. However, the basis of the thesis is the study duties analysis of the students at these faculties. Náklady vlastního kapitálu, jež jsou ovlivňovány řadou interních a externích činitelů, významným faktorem ovlivňujícím rozhodovací procesy v podnikové sféře. Cílem této disertační práce je na základě primárních a sekundárních dat formulovat původní metodiku řízení nákladů vlastního kapitálu. Zdrojem sekundárních dat je rozsáhlá literární rešerše zahrnující zahraniční a tuzemské vědecké studie a databáze. Primární data, na základě nichž byl zkoumán vztah mezi teoretickými přístupy řízení nákladů vlastního kapitálu a podnikovou praxí, byla získána formou dotazníkového šetření od finančních manažerů působících v podnicích se sídlem na území ČR. Data byla zpracována s využitím statistických metod. Výsledky disertační práce přispívají k hlubšímu porozumění vztahu mezi náklady vlastního kapitálu a jejich determinantů a odhalují rozdíly mezi teorií a manažerskou praxí. Navrhovaná metodika řízení nákladů vlastního kapitálu je určená k použití v podnikové praxi a lze předpokládat její další rozvíjení v rámci navazujících výzkumných aktivit.

Управление организацией розничной торговли невозможно без постановки эффективной системы бухгалтерского учета, основанной на соблюдении правил ведения бухгалтерского учета, связанных с товарно-материальными операциями и установленных законодательными и нормативными актами. Особенности учета доходов и расходов в сфере розничной торговли, заключаются в применении кассового метода, что вызывает необходимость усиления контроля за движением денежных средств. Предложенные меры совершенствования учетной политики по мониторингу движения денежных средств и за финансовыми результатами с помощью онлайн-касс позволят повысить эффективность учетно-аналитической деятельности в области бухгалтерского и налогового учета. Проведен анализ значимости влияния внешних и внутренних факторов на стратегическое планирование торговых организаций, в результате которого выявлено, что наиболее существенное воздействие оказывает совокупность внешних факторов федерального и регионального уровня. На основании исследования предложен алгоритм оценки факторов внешней среды организации розничной торговли для целей стратегического планирования. Овладение современными методами и средствами стратегического анализа позволит вести эффективный торговый бизнес. / Management of the organization of retail trade is impossible without the establishment of an effective accounting system based on compliance with the rules of accounting related to commodity and material operations and established by legislative and regulatory acts. Features of accounting for income and expenses in the retail sector, are the use of the cash method, which necessitates greater control over the movement of funds. The proposed measures to improve the accounting policy for monitoring cash flows and financial results with the help of online cash registers will improve the efficiency of accounting and analytical activities in the field of accounting and tax accounting. The analysis of the importance of the influence of external and internal factors on the strategic planning of trade organizations, which revealed that the most significant impact has a set of external factors at the Federal and regional levels. Based on the study, an algorithm for assessing the factors of the external environment of the retail trade organization for the purposes of strategic planning is proposed. Mastering modern methods and means of strategic analysis will allow you to conduct an effective trading business.
