The investigation aimed to verify whether there has been any relation between the account manager profile, as to his or her technology and internet knowledge and ability, and the level of adoption of the Internet Banking by clients under his or her orientation. For this investigation it was adopted a qualitative approach which consisted of internal data analysis, interviews, and questionnaire sent to a group of account managers. The results (1) suggest that even in the high earnings segment there have been other variables as age and the credit of salary in current account that affect the level of use of Internet Banking by clients; and that the manager profiles differ in terms of level of involvement with new technologies, which includes the internet; and (2) signalize that account managers whose profile is more technologically advanced make use of the internet more naturally and present stronger power of convincement over clients under his or her orientation as to Internet Banking adoption.

Metodología ágil Scrum y su relación con la satisfacción del cliente de aplicativos móviles de las principales entidades bancarias declaradas transformadoras digitales en la sección de banca minorista en Lima Metropolitana, 2019 / Relationship between Scrum methodology and Customer satisfaction of mobile applications of the main banking entities declared digital transformers in the retail banking section in Metropolitan Lima, 2019

Munguia Matos, Ayrton César, Vargas Vega, Arón Andrés 10 February 2021 (has links)
This thesis has a non-experimental quantitative approach of correlational design whose general objective is to determine if the Scrum methodology is related to customer satisfaction of mobile applications of the main banking entities declared digital transformers in the retail banking section in Metropolitan Lima in 2019. The Scrum methodology and customer satisfaction are high-impact topics, which are constantly being developed in various industries around the world finding unexplored areas regarding the knowledge of the relationship of both variables. Consequently, they could improve work methodologies in the world of work, as well as the client or end user experience. The research was conducted on a population of 2,371,542 people, represented by a sample of 383 people; this information was collected through a survey composed of two sections, the first one focuses on the Scrum methodology variable, it was composed of 17 questions and was adapted from the article “The Impact of Scrum on Costumer Satisfaction An Empirical Study”; regarding the second section, it focused on the client satisfaction variable, composed of 27 questions and adapted, mainly, from SERVQUAL. In this way, both sections of the survey were taken to the context of the financial sector and validated by expert judges, finally obtaining a total of 44 Likert-type questions. The application of non-parametric statistics was used for the relationship between variables making use of the Chi-square statistic and the Spearman's Rho statistical test. The results show r = 0.68 verifying that there is a directly proportional relationship between the variables. Also, the results show that for a level of significance α = 0.05, it is p = 0.000 (<0.05) lower than the significance level was obtained demonstrating the significant existence of an average relationship between the Scrum methodology and customer satisfaction, suggesting to the key actors of the related scenarios take into account that the modifications of mobile applications developed with the Scrum methodology impact the user experience. / Tesis

Adoption of e-banking amongst small, micro and medium enterprises in the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality

Manala, Maseribe Maureen 01 1900 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to examine the level of adoption, usage and factors that influence the adoption of electronic banking (e-banking) by small, micro and medium enterprises (SMMEs) listed in the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality (CTMM). Despite efforts by commercial banks to promote e-banking (internet and cell phone banking) to its customers, the adoption rate for internet and cell phone banking appears to be low. Based on the literature reviewed, the SMME sector has been widely excluded from the formal banking services. It is also observed that e-banking can enable SMMEs to grow and enter international markets. Technology acceptance model (TAM) integrated with perceived risk theory (PRT) was used to investigate factors that influence adoption and usage of e-banking. The study followed a quantitative research approach. Respondents were selected using simple random sampling technique. A structured survey questionnaire was used to collect the data. The survey was conducted on 160 SMMEs in the CTMM with the assistance of fieldworkers. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), Pearson’s bivariate correlation, and multiple regression. The results revealed that perceived ease of use had a significant positive influence on the attitude towards e-banking. Perceived usefulness had a positive but insignificant influence on the attitude towards e-banking. Security risk was the only perceived risk dimension that had a significant negative influence on attitude towards e-banking. However, financial risk, privacy risk, performance risk and social risk had a positive and insignificant influence on attitude towards e-banking. It was envisaged that this study will enable banks to develop strategies that are aimed at increasing their SMME market share. / Finance, Risk management and Banking / M. Com. (Finance)

Towards an ICT artefact for financial inclusion in Ghana: a critical realist perspective

Agyepong, Stephen 02 1900 (has links)
Financial exclusion is a major developmental problem. Perception has it that financial exclusion emanates from the lack of access to banking and financial services, and the general understanding is that ICT-based access to such services is the solution. In this research, which was undertaken in Ghana, Critical Realism (CR) revealed deeper causes (generative mechanisms) that underlie financial exclusion. The research followed a mixed-method approach. The CR approach guided the research to create an initial model from which hypotheses were deduced and tested; the design science approach, guided the research to create the design theory and an instantiation of an application that uses the design theory; and the quantitative method, was used to evaluate the hypotheses. CR revealed how, in a credit economy, people have a need for credit to pursue business or education opportunities. The generative mechanisms identified have revealed how the credit market for the unbanked includes the reality that a wellfunctioning credit market is self-sustaining with two mechanisms: signalling and adoption. The signalling mechanism facilitates users’ access to credit, which they in turn are able to spend on more services. On the other hand, the adoption mechanism enables the development of more services making the market more valuable, thus attracting more users in a self-feeding loop. The key findings suggest that being banked does not necessarily lead to financial inclusion and financial wellbeing. Transactional banking only serves as an "enrichment agenda for the banks", with minimal benefit to the people. There are also other non-financial technologies such as sharing and social technologies that have an effect on the provision of credit; in addition to their main purpose of saving and/or earning income, for the unbanked, by sharing resources. In Ghana, despite having bank accounts, most of the banked do not use them, because of cost and inappropriate services. This research reveals that the unexamined notion of being banked as a fundamental requirement for financial inclusion may require further investigation. The research has found that the unbanked keeping to themselves and the use of cash creates anonymity and makes them invisible to formal financial institutions, who prefer identity over anonymity, thus contributing to their financial exclusion. The following design needs were identified: inexpensive credit and value-added services such as saving groups, financial accounting services, service to report delinquent customers and education. The research offers a conceptualization of a financial inclusion ICT artefact to draw attention to the multifaceted and complex environment financial inclusion effort is immersed. This calls for an integrated approach since the issues with financial exclusion extend beyond financials and have an effect on the broader society. The research, therefore, proposes a substantive framework for improving the design and development of financial inclusive systems, which helps build trust using obligation transactions. It offers an approach to computing an individual’s financial inclusiveness, which also helps safeguard his/her financial wellbeing. The thesis makes a contribution to Information Systems theory in proposing a framework on financial inclusion using ICT. The contribution to practice is the design of an ICT artefact. / School of Computing / Ph. D. (Computer Science)
