The TeamSoft case is based on the transformational leadership embodied in its founder Alberto
Olaechea, who makes strategic decisions and implements each one of them, measuring the risks for its
growth. TeamSoft is a Peruvian company that offers products and services initiated based on the training
of the Manager who manages to develop an organization backed by a professional and competent
multidisciplinary team generating a high productivity that positions it in an exclusive market segment of
software development companies. These to assist entities with high demand for product quality and high
barrier to entry due to being served by transnational companies with certified internal processes and
extensive experience in product development.
The case allows the student to identify the type of leadership that is applied when developing a
company in turn in the supply chain that allows the delivery of an intangible product.
Through the case we are witnesses that our country has a local company that articulates its operational
processes in order to deliver a quality product or service. A local company that was able to respond to the
needs of the software development market as and continues to grow.
An alternative to raise this growth at a higher speed is perhaps the great challenge of the company but
as it manifested it had right decisions when taking risks before non-consistent business opportunities in
the medium term.
This case is designed to be used in a class as part of the graduate or MBA leadership course. The case is
a good way to analyze how a leader transcends beyond a brand, resulting in loyal customers but
personified in the work team. These customers request more products and services regardless of the global
company that was initially responsible for serving them.
Alberto Olaechea from 2003 to date has seen how his organization has grown in time since when he
started with four people, who had worked with him in the Softtek Company. His first office was located
in the second block of Javier Prado San Isidro Avenue (Office of dimensions 4m x 4m). And they began to
grow supported on the basis of two customers who had committed to them from the beginning.
Throughout the years that it has been operating, the company has had 280 consultants working on Projects
of large corporations in the middle doing software development.
After the sixteen years since the founding of the company TeamSoft, a scenario of high regional
competitiveness is presented before the entry of transnational companies, minor sales margins of software
products, the need for highly qualified foreign professionals, a high turnover of the resource local human
rights and the growing need to delegate the command of the company to an independent person.
Alberto Olaechea, founder of TeamSoft, poses the dilemma of correcting the strategic rhythm through
a self-assessment, adapting the strategic plans of the company and defining if it is convenient to continue
with his transformational leadership style or replace it with an innovative and updated version, as well as
specify the skills that must be acquired so that TeamSoft stays current and attractive in the market for a
long time.

This is a descriptive research and qualitative approach, which was developed using
the methodology of case analysis, through in-depth interviews in three banks. This was
achieved the main objective that was defined as identifying good corporate social
responsibility practices in the Peruvian financial sector. This led to an extensive review of the
literature, through which different aspects of CSR were defined, such as the involvement of
stakeholders or interest groups, the integration between CSR and business strategy, or the
participation of the board of directors and of senior management, among others. After
interviewing senior officials from three banks, who work directly in the area of social
responsibility, we proceeded to find similarities and differences in their responses.
Based on the results of the interviews, it was concluded that CSR practices are
developed in banks, which obey a comprehensive program and, therefore, are not isolated
activities, although in most cases they are not integrated with the general strategy of the
company. The good corporate social responsibility practices that have been identified in the
research are: (a) knowledge of the stakeholders, (b) prioritization of CSR programs or
projects related to the environment and the community, (c) integration of CSR with the
business strategy, (d) involvement of the head management, (e) allocation of budget to CSR
activities, (f) establishment of alliances with institutions, (g) approval with suppliers and (h)
establishment of indicators in order to measure the impact.
It was also known that CSR practices collaborate with workers from different areas of
the banks, and also alliances are made with external entities. For banks, CSR practices have a
positive effect on the perception that clients and the market in general have of the institution,
but do not know if there is a direct effect on profitability, since this is not measured.

The World Bank´s Doing Business project seeks to obtain a real measurement of the
norms that regulate the business activity in different economies around the world, as well as
at regional and subnational level. Doing Business stimulates competition among the
economies analyzed, provides relevant information for investors and entrepreneurs who wish
to start a business in a specific economy, and provides information to governments, helping
them to identify improvement opportunities in the internal procedures that facilitate the start
of a business and promote investment.
The present study, "Doing Business – Lima Sur", was done under the Doing Business
methodology, through non-experimental, descriptive and quantitative research. The
information were collected based on interviews with predefined questionnaires; as well as
consulting existing laws, rules and regulations at the national, regional and local levels
(clerical work). The surveys were conducted between October and November 2016 to
professionals with experience in the five pillars included in the methodology: Starting a
business, dealing with construction permits, getting electricity, registering property and
enforcing contracts. The information is resulted from a study focused on the number of
procedures required in each topic, as well as the duration and cost of each procedure. For the
analysis of the results obtained and calculation of the distance to frontier (DTF), a
comparison was made between Lima Sur, Lima and the subnational results of Spain and
Colombia. As conclusion, it is evident that it is easier to do business in Lima Sur than in
Lima, nevertheless both occupy the last places when being compared with cities of Spain and
Colombia.
Finally, improvement opportunities can be identified that will lead us to imitate good
practices in other cities, optimizing resources, improving conditions and providing facilities
to do business in Lima Sur to all entrepreneurs and investors

requisitos normativos y operacionales / The quality of the service provided by the electric power transmission companies in Peru can
reduce or limit the possibility of achieving a better performance of the energy sector; as a
consequence the availability or supply of energy could be reduced, the cost of production
would tend to increase and the national productive matrix would be affected. The study,
which assumes a qualitative strategy of inductive and descriptive nature; on information
collected through semi-structured depth surveys, sought to describe the perception of these
companies regarding the reasons, success factors and barriers to the implementation of the
quality management system and the integrated management system; and how these have
influenced the development of each organization and compliance with regulatory and
operational requirements

Location-allocation problem for banking correspondent services : the colombian urban market caseCardona Prada, Juan Carlos 02 March 2017 (has links)
Banking correspondents are a channel through which third parties operate on behalf of a bank, under a contract authorising the provision of some banking services. This model has been implemented extensively in developing countries, as a channel to increase financial inclusion by bringing financial products and services closer to marginalised populations. However, there is a lack of studies on the criteria employed by banks when selecting retailers to turn into banking correspondents (BC), in turn preventing the channel from offering a service portfolio adequate to the capacities of the retailers providing this kind of services, affecting the profitability and sustainability of the channel. The current research parted from the agency theory, which allowed to understand the relationship between the parties involved in the delivery of BC services, seeking to boost financial inclusion in Colombia through the development of the BC channel by solving the problem of location and portfolio allocation for retailers acting as banking correspondents in Colombian urban zones. It parted from the case of Bogota, where improvements were achieved in the selection of retailers and portfolio allocation, thus enhancing the relationship between agents, allowing banks to select banking correspondents and allocating them a particular service portfolio, while transaction volumes and channel profits are maximised. This was done through the development of a methodology comprising five stages, namely: (a) the development of a taxonomy on network integration models and financial services; (b) the development of a taxonomy on the strategies of small and medium retailers that could be selected as banking correspondents; (c) the validation of both taxonomies through cluster analyses; (d) validation of the resulting classifications through an ANOVA and a Kruskal-Wallis H test; and (e) the elaboration of a chance-constrained programming model that uses the elements built and validated in the formers stages. A classification of retailers was obtained from factors related to their operational and business strategies, as well as a classification of banking correspondents based on their
service portfolios. It was also noted there is a significant relationship between the groups from both classifications, which led to the chance-constrained programming model being run on a sample of retailers in Bogotá, located at the borough of Suba. The model enabled to select those retailers best suited to become banking correspondents, determining the number of transactions according to their constraints in terms of retailer capabilities, banks and the environment, while estimating the expected income from these banking correspondent operations

The purpose of the present research is the evaluation of the ease that Peru offers to
do business; this research focuses on the city of Tambopata at the region Madre de Dios.
The methodology used was the qualitative methodology, where the data collection is done
through structured interviews and observations according to the Doing Business
methodology of the World Bank. The study evaluated 20 organizations, between public
and private companies, municipalities, regional governments, regulatory agencies,
notaries and other sources of primary information related to the issues for evaluation.
The results prove that the most worrying issue is obtaining electricity service, due
to the lack of knowledge of many procedures, as well as the informality during the
implementation of the electrical systems at companies and other infrastructures of the
Business. Other problems happen in the process of the opening companies, due to the lack
of information on the procedures and the costs required by the current regulations. Also, at
the process of construction permits, the weakness is the informality of the construction
sector, despite of having good trained professionals; they do not obey the deathliness of
the companies. As far as a property register was observed the lack of territorial planning,
as well as the low incidence of the population that own a title of property and that they
conform with to having a certificate of possession. Finally, in the fulfillment of contracts,
the population ignores rules and other tools that have implemented by the Judicial Branch
that helps a quick solution by reducing the documentary process. The present research is
important because the due of be a world-wide study and that serves as evaluation tool
between the participating countries, in order to be a reference to the situation in different
markets

lujo. / This thesis presents an investigation on what good practices in financing and cash
management can be found in real estate developer companies of departaments in Peru. The
analysis was based on consulting with various experts in the sector, all senior officials in
various types of real estate groups. Likewise, the emblematic case of the bankruptcy of what
was at the time the largest real estate company in the country, seeking to understand the main
reasons for its collapse was analyzed.
The methodology used was the qualitative and phenomenological approach since by
means of an inductive logic, researchers search through the exploration and description of the
phenomenon, generate ideas to answer the question posed by the research.
Among the contributions of the research was the existence of good common practices
that allow generating better economic results in the real estate projects of departments,
indistinctly if they were oriented to social housing or luxury markets.

Risk Management and Perception of Coffee GrowersMonroy, Gildardo 02 May 2018 (has links)
The current research studied the relationship between risk management by the
institutions underlying the Colombian coffee sector and risk perceptions held by Colombian
coffee growers from a neo-institutional approach, in order to explain the risk perceptions
and individual behaviors of coffee growers and establishing the effect of institutions on risk
perception and management of Colombian coffee growers. The research was performed
through an explanatory study with a sequential mixed approach, formed by two phases: (a)
a qualitative phase characterized by elaboration of taxonomies on the risks Colombian
coffee growers are vulnerable to, and on risk management instruments offered by
institutions, creating a coffee grower’s profile, sociodemographic features and exploitation
scale; and (b) a quantitative stage that developed a Structural Equation Model (SEM),
through which the existing relationship between risk management offered by Colombian
coffee sector institutions and risk perceptions of Colombian coffee growers was empirically
evaluated, by studying risk perceptions from past experiences and the way coffee growers
deal with the risk associated to situations they must face, risk attitudes and management
strategies.
The study concluded that the set of risk management instruments offered by the
institutions underlying the coffee sector lower risk exposure of Colombian coffee growers,
and also determine their risk management strategies. In addition, the current study showed
that adjusting the extended model proposed by Sitkin and Pablo (1992) showed its capacity
to capture the relationships observed in the context of the Colombian coffee grower.
Finally, the institutions underlying the coffee sectors affect risk perceptions of opportunity
or threat situations faced by coffee growers; it is also validated through the existing
relationship between the constructs.

The main purpose of the present research is to identify the predominant leadership style of female entrepreneurs in Metropolitan Lima in Peru throughout qualitative descriptive of their demographic characteristics; education levels, family and work background; the types of businesses they manage; their managerial skills; their motivations to become entrepreneurs and their interpersonal relations. The study uses the qualitative paradigm that is based on a case study of 18 female entrepreneurs who live and work in Metropolitan Lima and who have been running companies for more than three years and a half.
Female entrepreneurs tend to show characteristics associated to the transformational leadership style and tend to be motivated by necessity, mainly because they want to achieve independence and have more available time. It is commonly believed that female entrepreneurs who are highly educated mainly start business by opportunity, however results show that they are motivated by need and have a strong tendency to transformational style. In addition, it is concluded that transformational leadership is developed naturally in female entrepreneurs who are motivated by opportunity. The personal characteristics of female entrepreneurs, depend on the context and their experiences; however, the following outstand: (a) the ability to learn, (b) good interpersonal relationships, (c) good level of communication, (d) responsibility, (e) positive attitude and (f) character.
The main contribution of this study lies in the analysis of female entrepreneurs in Metropolitan Lima in Peru, the region with the highest entrepreneurial activity in the country, and adds further empirical evidence that supports that the transformational leadership style is predominant for female entrepreneurs in a different context
