Telefonkataloghantering för mobila enheter

Svensson, Per-Erik, Skoglund, Sebastian January 2007 (has links)
The PhonePages of Sweden is a company that develops software for mobile units, especially cell phones. This thesis treats the development of, and contingencies for, a mobile phone directory, using the limited resources found in a mobile unit. The project was implemented and executed at The PhonePages with the intention of creating a product to sell to a third party. By studying different solutions, their benefits and drawbacks, an abstract picture of the product was constructed. Problems covered include compatibility problems caused by todays platform diversity as well as problems with saving, organizing and presenting data. The main goal was to create a phone directory which does not make external information retrievals. The service should contain both company and personal information, with name and phonenumber. Complete address information should also be available. The application should also manage different priorities and logotypes for the company information. The application, that emerged as a result of our work at The PhonePages, works independently, without making connections to the Internet and is completely implemented in J2ME, all according to the requirement specification. In other words, the analysis of the different solutions led to a working application.

Utveckling av protokoll för bearbetning av / Protocol development to access databases using

Hjälmgården, David, van der Lieth, Jens January 2007 (has links)
This assignment has been performed at location and commissioned by Attendit AB in Jönköping. The task has been to develop a client/server system to access data stored in SQL databases where the client application is developed to run on regular cellular telephones. The importance has been to develop as reliable mobile communication as possible. The functionality that is demanded upon the mobile communication is: • Secured for future versions • Interoperability • Data should not be bugged, modified or disappear unnoticed • Resource efficient We have achieved these demands by developing our own protocol that is on top of the TCP protocol. The difficulty with the development has been to take in mind the limited resources of the mobile phones regarding storage, memory and CPU. The result of this task is a working system with a belonging database which has stable mobile communication as foundation. Server and client is well structure so the system easy can be extended with new different calls to the database. In hence of confidentiality the real system is not presented in this report. Instead we will describe fictitious scenario to exemplify the resolutions to the problems that we have identified.

Interactive and Augmented Information Spaces to Support Learning and Dynamic Decision-Making

Robison, David J., Earnshaw, Rae A., McClory, P. January 2009 (has links)
No / The rise of mainstream virtual learning environments has facilitated the operation of information spaces to support display, simulation, and interactive modelling. As well as disseminating information and knowledge, they can also be used to accumulate learning as each user is also a potential contributor. This paper examines the use of information environments to support mobile learning and dynamic decision making and the extent to which physical or social space can support the application. Such applications are not limited to the traditional data analysis and modelling functions but can be extended to include storytelling, theatre, and other aspects of the arts and the entertainment industry.

CyborGlogger: A Computational Framework for Real-time CyborGlogging

Lo, Raymond Chun Hing 27 July 2010 (has links)
CyborGlogs are lifelong log files of personal experiences that are captured without conscious thought or effort. By creating cyborglogs on a continuous basis, we can enable various novel applications where the lifelong records are used as memory aids or for personal safety. This thesis presents the development of a mobile application that provides the tools to instantly capture, archive, recall, and share our personal experiences on widely available cameraphones. To achieve this goal, a client-server computational framework is designed and implemented to support real-time interaction among the users. Three fully functional prototypes supporting three major mobile platforms (J2ME, Symbian, and iPhone) are presented to show the feasibility and flexibility of this framework. Finally, this thesis shows an early prototype which demonstrates the idea of mediated reality on cameraphones using various integrated sensors. This prototype explores the possibilities of developing truly intelligent wearable applications on mobile devices in the future.

Developing Jxta Applications For Mobile Devices And Invoking Web Services Deployed In Jxta Platform From Mobile Devices

Bahadir, Mesut 01 December 2004 (has links) (PDF)
Today, Peer-to-peer (P2P) computing and Web Services play an important role in networking and computing. P2P computing, that aims addressing all the resources in a network and sharing them, is an old paradigm that gains importance nowadays with the advent of popular file sharing and instant messaging applications. On the other hand, a Web service is a software system that has an interface allowing applications to interact with other applications through Internet or intranet. Providing methods for publishing and discovering Web services from which mobile devices can facilitate in a P2P environment enables exploitation of P2P and Web service technologies efficiently by mobile devices. This also extends the range of devices that facilitate P2P and Web services technologies from servers and desktop computers to personal digital assistants (PDAs) and mobile phones. In this thesis, an architecture that enables publishing and discovering Web services for mobile clients that are inter-connected in a P2P environment is introduced. Key issues in this architecture are allowing mobile devices to join in a P2P network group, publishing Web services and discovering these services in P2P network. Invoking Web services that are published and discovered is another key issue in this architecture. The architecture introduced exploits P2P and Web services standards using various tools for mobile devices. For the purpose of organizing a P2P environment, JXTA protocols and services are used. WSDL is used for describing Web services. JXTA advertisements help in publication and discovery of Web services / and BPEL enables composition, deployment and execution of Web services. The architecture introduced within the scope of this thesis combines all these standards with tools that enable use of these standards on mobile devices. The work done in this thesis is realized as a part of Artemis, a project funded by European Commission for providing interoperability of medical information systems.

Κατανεμημένο σύστημα παρακολούθησης τιμών καταναλωτή με χρήση υπηρεσιών διαδικτύου και κινητών συσκευών

Σοκορέλη, Ιωάννα 20 October 2010 (has links)
The purpose of this diploma thesis is the development of an application designed for mobile phones, based on a J2ME platform. This application enables the users to use their phones in order to compare the prices of books among stores of a specific area. The development of this application includes a distributed system, which consists of two components: the client application, namely the users and the server application that contains a data base. This data base gets updated by the end users. The communication between the server and the client is based on Web Services. The users’ location is determined by the phone’s embedded GPS receiver. Finally, the Static Maps API is used for mapping the results.
