Medical Imaging Field of Magnetic Resonance Imaging: Identification of Specialities Within the Field

Grey, Michael L. 01 December 2009 (has links)
This study was conducted to determine if specialty areas are emerging in the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) profession due to advancements made in the medical sciences, imaging technology, and clinical applications used in MRI that would require new developments in education/training programs and national registry examinations. In this exploratory study, statistical analysis incorporated the use of factor analysis and chi square. Factor analysis was used to group tasks performed by MRI technologists into factors to better identify emerging specialty areas within the MRI profession. Chi square was used to analyze the association between the tasks performed in (a) the employment setting, and (b) hospital size. Factor analysis identified four meaningful factors. The four named factors were: (a) Routine Imaging non-Central Nervous System Imaging; (b) Advanced Imaging; (c) Routine Imaging with Central Nervous System Imaging; and (d) Musculoskeletal and Spine Imaging. From the four named factors, three emerging specialty areas were identified: (a) central nervous system imaging; (b) vascular/cardiovascular imaging; and (c) musculoskeletal imaging. Chi square analysis identified 47 of the 78 tasks as being significant when finding an association between the employment setting and the frequency of tasks performed. Cramer's V was used to measure the strength of their association. The more complicated the procedure the more likely this procedure is performed in either a university or private hospital. Further, chi square analysis identified 42 of the 78 tasks as being significant when finding the association between the hospital size and the frequency of tasks performed. Gamma was used to measure the strength of their association. This means the larger the hospital, the more frequent the tasks were performed.

Analýza fyzické zátěže učitele TV 2. st. ZŠ ve vyučovací jednotce TV a v rámci denního režimu školy / Analysis of the physical burden of physical education teacher at 2nd in elementary school teaching unit of physical education and within the school system

ŠMAJCL, Filip January 2018 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to analyse the physical strain of a PE teacher at the second stage of the primary education during the PE lessons and within the everyday school life. In the theoretical part of the thesis key concepts pedagogy, pedeutology and a brief history of teaching are explained. Furthermore, the profession of a teacher, their duties, personality traits, role and teaching styles are described, as well as the job-analysis of a PE teacher. The most important part is the description and analysis of the physical strain, stress, noise and workload of a PE teacher and the influence of the physical strain on their heart rate. In the practical part of the thesis we deal with eight days of surveying in which we describe in detail the PE lessons. Afterwards we collect the data obtained by using a sport tester within these 30 PE lessons and its parts and we can find out what the energy output of the PE teacher is. From the data obtained according to general physiology we can put the demandingness of the profession of a PE teacher into the corresponding category of work load.

The content validation of a virtual assessment centre

Müller, Klaus-Peter 18 July 2013 (has links)
M. Phil. (Industrial Psychology) / Orientation: Assessment centres (ACs) are a popular method of assessment, as they offer a direct, practical link to the required job, which link is not inferred but observed through candidate behaviour. Given the popularity of ACs in South Africa and how content is often borrowed from the USA, research in the applicability of US content in South Africa is justified. Research purpose: The main purpose of this study was to determine whether the selected US-developed virtual assessment centre (VAC) appeared to measure what it claimed to, and to determine whether the content found within the VAC is suitable for South Africa. Motivation for the study: A solid pre-statistical foundation of content forms the backbone of assessing validity. Content validation analysis is well-suited to analysing the relevance of AC simulations in a specific cultural context. The case exists that too often content validation is either implied, or that no more than a paragraph is deemed sufficient to explain content validation efforts. Research design: A content evaluation schedule was developed that covered seven content validation dimensions and consisted of 50 items. 13 Subject matter experts (SMEs) and 9 experienced middle level managers, who were considered functional experts (FEs), were tasked to assess an imported VAC using the developed evaluation schedule. Main findings: This study indicated that the VAC appears to measure what it purports to, and that the content found within the VAC is suitable for use in the South African context. Practical/Managerial implications: Content created in the USA can be assessed for relevance and applicability for use in South Africa through content validation. Contribution and value add: This study contributes to AC literature and assessment methodology by demonstrating the importance and utility of content validation. Importers and developers of AC content may use this study’s techniques to validate content so as to meet legislative requirements and ensure domain relevance of content.

Analyse du socle de compétences d’un nouveau métier : le cas des Opérateurs de Systèmes de Drones (OSD) / Analysis of the core abilities of a new job : the case of Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) Operators.

Duvillard-Monternier, Solange 15 December 2014 (has links)
The development of this new technology causes the creation of RPA operator's jobs and the mergence of new and specific abilities. The main objective of the thesis is thus to allow a selection to be proposed. We ran job analysis 1) to identify the optimal profile for success with twice job analysis's methods, 2 ) to assess the real profile of the current RPA operators, 3) to compare the RPA operators profile with a profile of a cadet population, and then 4) we proposed directions for future researches and perspectives needed for RPA operators. Our explorational approach had be adapted using ground material data collected in the unique MALE RPA's squadron of French Air France. We adapted the Fleishman Job Analysis Survey and then we defined the optimal profile in terms of crucial and main abilities. The real profile in terms of crucial abilities was assessed with visuospatial tests and personality inventory. Results showed that the optimal profile required high level of attentional resources's abilitities in the visuospatial field, and also in interactive-social sdomain. From a scientific perspective, this thesis focuses on the specificities of new jobs for which they are few studies towards the qualitative requirements for recruitment and training, both in the civilian and the military domain. Il will offer a better understanding of the skills required to perform the tasks of RPAs operator, and the methodology we used, could be applied on other job's in aeronautics. By exemple, fighter and airlift pilots could be the next studied populations.
