Literární kritik F. V. Krejčí a revue Rozhledy / Literary Critic F. V. Krejčí in Rozhledy Review

Pečenková, Aneta January 2015 (has links)
The topic of this master thesis is F. V. Krejci's literary criticism. It analyses not only his approach to literary criticism as presented in his major as well as minor texts, but also his own output in the Rozhledy revue, presumably the best representative of modern literary-critical tendencies of the 1890s. The Rozhledy revue and F. V. Krejci's literary- critical output (including his monographs) both help us understand the literature of the second half of 19th century with its diversities as well as the way how the young generation of literary critics used to form their methodological aspects. The body of this master thesis is created by the complete and annotated bibliography of F. V. Krejci's texts published in Rozhledy. The research was based on both - the detailed study and analysis of the main sources and the author bibliography provided by the Institute of Czech Literature AS CR. In Rozhledy, F. V. Krejci published various political and literary articles. He also reviewed a few books. In his reviews, he usually wrote a non-detailed foreword and introduction. After that, he commented on a few aspects of the particular book. There are four topics he was interested about the reviewed masterpiece and that is its plot, message, overall meaning and its social impact. He also published some...

Hvězdy, body, procenta: vliv hodnocení filmů v médiích na návštěvnost českých kin / Stars, points, percentage: the influence of critics reviews on the Czech cinema attendance

Karlíčková, Iva January 2019 (has links)
Diploma thesis Stars, points, percentage: the influence of critics reviews on the Czech cinema attendance aims to verify whether reviews and critics in printed and electronic media affect how many viewers see the movie in the cinema. Besides this main question, this study is also focused on other hypotheses associated with the general notion that a professional film critic, as an expert, has higher demands on audiovisual works, and therefore films rated in professional journals have a lower rating than when they are evaluated in the media intended for the general public. The theoretical framework of the thesis briefly deals with the definition and historical development of criticism at first in general and then with the critics and reviews of film. It also outlines the evolution of cinematography and film as media and art. In addition, some other factors that may affect cinema attendance are mentioned. The last passage summarizes the current foreign and domestic studies and works dealing with similar topics. In the research part, all the films that premiered in our country from 2006 to 2015 were analyzed by the quantitative method. There were almost 2,300 films, which were reviewed in Cinepur and Cinema magazines, on iDNES.cz and aktualne.cz news servers and Moviezone.cz, Kinobox.cz and ČSFD web portals....

Francouzská bulvární komedie na českých divadlech a hledání překladatelských strategií / French boulevard comedy on Czech stage and searching of the translation strategy

Töröková, Sára January 2019 (has links)
The thesis is divided into two parts, one theoretical and one empirical. The first one presents origin and different perception of the boulevard comedy genre in France, Czech Republic, Germany, United Kingdom and USA. Afterwards, a brief characteristic of the boulevard comedy is presented in terms of content and subject matter. Four kinds of comedy are presented - comedy of manners, comedy of situation, comedy of intrigue and interactive comedy. The translatological analysis of the Czech translation of the French humorist Laurent Baffie's contemporary play Toc toc by the director and translator Jaromír Janeček constitutes the second main part of the thesis. The analysis is based on the theoretical studies of Jiří Levý and Jan Mukařovský, which are dealing with the translation of drama, and also on the theory of so-called Manipulation school of André Lefevere. Several problems have arised from the detailed analysis of the original text. The comparison of the translation and the original text is made on the ground of these problems. Subsequently, there is an evaluation of the translation. In some cases, a different solution is proposed. The work is supplemented by insights into the translation practice, which are drawn from personal interviews with translators and experts on drama.

Gadamerio ir Habermaso diskusija / Gadamer versus habermas

Svigaris, Žilvinas 23 June 2014 (has links)
2. Centrinis Habermas epistemologijos klausimas yra pamatinių kalbinio ir istorinio pažinimo principų universalumas, kuris įvardinamas komunikacinio veiksmo, gyvenimiško pasaulio ir idealios kalbinės dialektikos sampratomis. Habermas... [toliau žr. visą tekstą] / Problems of language, history and understanding have been approached in discussion between Gadamer and Habermas, in the context social sciences and tradition. The participants have philosophically analysed problems of particularity and historicity of understanding. Philosophical hermeneutics, as universal theory of human reason, and social critical theory, as a discipline which emancipate society from violence, contra positioned their positions on understanding limits and universality. This contraposition of main concepts of hermeneutical philosophy and social critical theory were highlighted in this research. There is a question of universality of human reason in epicentre of discussion between Gadamer and Habermas. Basis of the discussion consist of contraposition of six categories: three of Gadamer – dialogue, tradition and fusion of horizons and three of Habermas – communicative action, living world and ideal speech situation. 1. Universality of linguistic and historic understanding are the main questions of Gadamer philosophical hermeneutics. This universality is treated as dialectic of dialogue, tradition and fusion of horizon. Gadamer systematically inquired dependence of object and subject to the history and developed possibilities for universal, linguistically mediated, historical understanding. 2. Main question of Habermas epistemology is the question of universality of linguistic and historic principles. This problem is expressed in conceptions of communicative... [to full text]

Juráková, Karolina January 2018 (has links)
This thesis Issues of translation of the novel Chronos of Taras Antypovych focuses on the indication and analysis of various difficult lexical phenomena in the science-fiction novel of contemporary Ukrainian writer Taras Antypovych. Among the specific features of his novel we could name such as almost complete absence of facts, plenty of neologisms, a lot of self-described names, and frequent mixing of different functional styles. The first part of work deals with the characteristic and detailed analysis of the novel Chronos, the second part is both theoretical and practical one that could be considered as the central part of the work. Such phenomena as neologisms, slang and argot, language games, vulgarisms, own names, "surzhik", phraseological units, interjections, and the words derived from them are considered here as one that may appear problematic in the translation from Ukrainian into Czech. The theoretical explanation is accompanied by examples from the text of the novel which I translated into Czech and supported with comments. The main aim of the work was to clarify the translation process and to present one or more solutions to the problems indicated above. Key words: Taras Antypovych, Chronos, Ukrainian literature, translation, translation theory

Šťastná, Zuzana January 2016 (has links)
The PhD thesis studies the translations and the overall reception of John Donneʼs poetry in the Czech literary culture. Its introduction explains the choice of the topic, outlines the structure of the text and the main question to be answered: to what extent Donne has become a significant presence in the Czech cultural context and how his work has been transplanted through translations. It introduces the Czech translators of Donne and discusses their motives for translating his work where these could be ascertained. The first part of Chapter 3 describes the method used in analyzing the Czech translations. It introduces the model of translation criticism presented by Antoine Berman in his analysis of French Donnean translations (Pour une critique des traductions: John Donne, 1995) and comments on its application in the study of the Czech translations. Aspekty genderu v románu Eva Carry van Bruggenové / Gender Aspects in the Novel Eva by Carry van Bruggen

Jankovská, Marie January 2016 (has links)
in English This thesis focuses on the construct of gender in the modernist novel Eva by the Dutch authoress Carry van Bruggen in relation to the individual human subject. The goal of this thesis is to analyse how is gender constructed in the book and how this construct influences the psychic development and decision making of the main character, a woman named Eva. The answer to the main research question What role does the construct of gender play in the life of the main character of the novel Eva? was reached with the help of the discourse analysis, namely the post-structuralist discourse analysis using the deconstructive reading. The thesis is at the same time theoretically anchored in the post-structuralist feminist literary criticism. The theoretical part therefore draws on the ideas of Jacques Derrida, Michel Foucault, Judith Baxter and Judith Butler. As an inspiration for the discourse analysis itself served the discourse analysis dealing with the gender identity that was carried out by Kateřina Zábrodská in 2009. The first step in the analysis stage was to identify the relevant passages of the novel that inform what does it mean to be a man or a woman. The comments on these passages focus on the individual claims about gender, they formulate what kind of duties and limits these discourses...

Televizní drama v československém odborném diskursu 50. a 60. let. / Television drama in Czechoslovak specialized discourse of the 1950s and 1960s

Jiřiště, Jakub January 2016 (has links)
Thesis deals with basic tendencies and preconditions of the aesthetic development of Czechoslovak television drama of the 50s and 60s through its specialist reflection. The method of a discourse analysis which is applied to the area of aesthetics and inspired by the concepts of Michel Foucault and Achim Landwehr maps locally- and time-based field of the discourse about television drama and penetrates surface relations between subdiscourses (television criticism, television theory and influences of institutions) with the aim to capture the formative order of the discourse. A basic axis of the analysis is the evolution of the concept of television specifity which will be tracked through the crucial discussions of the period. They reflects a gradual revision of initial assumptions about the formal emancipation and the legitimacy of art of television. The next step of the analysis is the mutual comparison of solutions at which these discussions arrived via various aspects and methods. This way a second goal of the discourse analysis will be fulfilled - to trace the essential unity of the discourse which is represented by the complex of jointly asserted requirements about the ideal form of the television drama. The complex is possible to consider as an implicit poetics of Czechoslovak television drama...

Severská detektivka: Mezi kriminálním románem, společenskou kritikou a thrillerem / Scandinavian crime fiction: Detective novel, social critism and thriller

Danielková, Pavla January 2017 (has links)
The thesis presented here with deals with an analysis and genre definition of the Nordic detective story, which is currently very popular in the Czech Republic. It is namely an interpretation of the works done by two contemporary Nordic authors in question, i.e. Stieg Larsson and Jo Nesbø. With the first of the two authors I will be looking into the complete trilogy The Millenium containing volumes of Män som hatar kvinnor (2005), Flickan som lekte med elden (2006) and Luftslottet som sprängdes (2007). As regards in Nesbø's works, I have chosen a series of detective stories with detective Harry Hole as the main character, especially two of them Panserhjerte (2009) and Snømannen (2007) and which appear to be the most successful and the most typical. On the grounds of the analysis of the particular literary categories such as the character of a detective and their investigative techniques, the narrative pattern, the narrator, and the continuum which are compared with the similar categories within individual historical detective schools itemized in the theoretical part of the thesis, and compared as well with other genres, it is to be stated that the Nordic crime fiction might be located somewhere on the border line between the detective story, the critical social novel and the thriller, taking on at...
