PLATSCHEFENS FÖRMÅGA ATT ÖKA PRODUKTIVITETEN - en jämförande studie av fyra arbetsplatser hos Peab - / THE SITE MANAGERS ABILITY TO INCREASE PRODOCTIVITYJorild, Johan, Kovalonok, Alexander January 2014 (has links)
The construction industry has been criticised for lacking productivity. Previous reports and studies show a low productivity compared to other industries but also the complexity of productivity measurement. The report aims to examine the site manager's role and the factors that affect the ability to get out productivity on a construction site. The case study was conducted on four of Peab's projects and the issues were answered using qualitative and quantitative methods such as interviews and surveys. Factors that affect productivity such as communication, motivation, competence and cooperation are further investigated. As comparison, an incentive quota imposed in relation to the questionnaires and interviews, are applied. The results show clear differences between site managers' abilities, methods and qualities that lead to a difference in productivity in the workplace. The conclusion shows what qualities and methods that tend to give a high productivity.

Trabalho produtivo em Karl Marx: novas e velhas questões / Productive labour in Karl Marx: new and old issuesCotrim, Vera Aguiar 17 September 2009 (has links)
This research examines Marx conception of productive labour concerning both its general determination and its existence as a particular economic category of capitalist mode of production. Firstly, it is aimed at eliciting the distinctive criteria of productive labour with regard to unproductive labour in capitalist form of sociability and analyzing the relationship that both categories establish with social capital, as well as to one another. On that basis, it is intended to show the chief principles of working class unity and its opposition to capital. Secondly, it is aimed at presenting concrete labour transformations after its subsumption to capital in respect to the category of productive labour. Thus, complex and immaterial labours as forms of labour productive to capital are approached in their connection to the development of productivity of social labour.

For the purposes of this theses, a part of the data from Czech engineering industry was used, specificaly manufacture of electrical equipment (27 CZ-NACE) in the time period of 2013 - 2017. This data was further processed and analyzed. The next part of thesis is the analysis of the relationships between the labour productivity and the three indicators of economic performance - Return on Assets, index IN05 and the creditworthiness index. High-involvement work systems : their effect on employee turnover and organisational performance in New Zealand organisationsDoody, Sarah-jane P. January 2007 (has links)
Organisations can create a competitive advantage through the way they design their human resource systems. High involvement work systems are considered to be a way to increase organisational performance and decrease employee turnover. However, the components involved are difficult and complex to define, and the synergy amongst the different components hard to evaluate. The literature suggests that the research is not uniform in its approach, and most research does not clearly define the variables involved or agree on the expected results of such systems. This research looks at high involvement work systems in the New Zealand organisational context, and relating these systems to employee turnover and organisational performance. The results of the study suggest that there does not appear to be a relationship between high involvement work systems, and employee turnover and organisational performance; but high involvement systems may contribute to increased labour productivity in New Zealand organisations.

Manufacturing sector productivity in South Africa in the 1980's : error and ideology in a contested terrain.Meth, Charles. January 1994 (has links)
Estimates of the value of manufacturing sector output enter into many economic indices, especially those measuring productivity. The South African Central Statistical Services has twice made substantial errors in the output series. Revisions to correct the first of these raised the growth rate in manufacturing over the period 1970-80 from 2,6 per cent per annum (compound) to 5 per cent. This episode is not common knowledge. After examining the conceptual difficulties involved in producing output stimates, a practical technique for detecting errors in the series , the Euler Consistency Test, is presented. Developed, refined, and then applied to the South African data, it predicted, retrospectively, the first set of errors (using only the information available at the time those errors were made), then detected another set of errors , not previously known to exist. The study records the process by which the CSS was made to concede this second error. Acknowledgement only came after protracted correspondence and an examination conducted by a special committee formed to investigate my complaints. With 1979 set equal to 100, the output level in 1988 was originally given as 113,8. After investigation, the CSS raised this to 126,1. The magnitude of this second error is equivalent to the omission of the total output of the two SASOL plants commissioned during the early 1980s. Estimates of productivity growth by the National Productivity Institute using these incorrect figures are shown to have created a misleading picture of the sector's performance, especially in the sensitive debate over the relationship between wage and productivity growth. An attempt is made to lay the groundwork of an analytical framework for comprehending (from a Marxist point of view) the activities of ideological state apparatusses like the NPI. A review of the literature on theory choice is conducted, and the necessarily political nature of this activity is explored. The relative impotence of I science' in the face of ideology in a conflict-ridden society is considered. The question of the significance of disagreements between economists is examined, and prospects for convergence and consensus on certain issues are weighed. / Thesis (Ph.D.)-Unversity of Natal, 1994.

Měření souhrnné produktivity výrobních faktorů / Total productivity of manufacture factors measurementKOČOVÁ, Jana January 2016 (has links)
The goal of this diploma thesis is to apply the calculation methods of productivity in the level of national economics and company economics. Subsequently we found out the results of particular productivity and evaluate their development in both levels. Afterwards we compared individual results of the company with industry.
