This diploma thesis focuses on topic of educational needs of hospital and faculty of medicine employees, concretely doctors performing medical and pedagogical services. The theoretical part deals with the issue of employee management and development and with legislative confirmation of doctors need to constantly educate themselves. Lifelong learning, by extension, andragogy, is a tool for more active using of innovative methods and instruments for developing digital competences. Economical, sociological and sociopolitical analysis reflect educational needs analysis and emphasize the need for lifelong learning without regard for subjective or objective typological dimension. The major goal of this thesis is to analyze current condition of doctor's educational needs who perform medical and pedagogical services considering continual digitization development. I chose qualitative research investigation, two methods of questioning to gain required data. The analysis of doctor's educational needs in university hospital proved that current industrial revolution is professionally included not only by reason of subjective dimension of needs but also because of protecting themselves and their employers at particular performances.

The relationship between organisational culture and lifelong learning

Mohidin, Jasmine 30 October 2013 (has links)
The objectives of this study were to (1) establish whether a relationship exists between individuals’ perception of organisational culture, measured by the South African Cultural Instrument (2005) and lifelong learning, measured by the Dimensions of the Learning Organisation Questionnaire (2003); and (2) determine whether the participants differed with regard to these variables in terms of sociodemographic contextual factors such as age, race, gender, education, years of service, disability status and job level. A quantitative study, using primary data, was conducted on a convenient sample (N=257) of full-time public service officials in a South African public service organisation. Correlational and inferential statistical analyses revealed statistically significant positive relationships between individuals’ perception of organisational culture and lifelong learning. Significant differences were found in the perception of these variables for individuals with different years of service and for individuals of different age groups. The findings should contribute valuable knowledge to the field of organisational behaviour, which could be used to promote a lifelong learning culture in public service organisations. The study concludes with recommendations for future practice / Industrial and Organisational Psychology / M. Com. (Industrial and Organisational Psychology)

Yrkesväxling : En beskrivning av drivkrafterna bakom vändpunktsprocessen hos individer i medelåldern. / Job Change : A description of the motivating behind the turning point process of middle-aged individuals.

Larsen, Anne-Marie, Dahlberg, Caroline January 2020 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to clarify the underlying human motives, both external and internal, in career choices of professional change, of which contributes to career changes. This thesis enlightens some of the societal conditions or obstacles that exist to a future study start, as part of the participants personal development, and clarify what led them to take the decisive step towards a new career path. Theoretical framework used is Abraham Maslow's (1989/1943) needs pyramid, George Herbert Meads (2001/1934) concept of significant others, Fuchs Ebaugh's (1988) theory of turning point processes and the theory of planned Happenstance which Kathleen Mitchell, Al Levin and John Krumboltz (1999) are the founders of. Method used is focus group interviews. Results show that the underlying human motivation processes in participants' professional exchange can be linked to the needs of Maslow's (1989/1943) needs pyramid. The most basic needs must be met in order for the individual to feel motivated to begin self-development. One obstacle whether to decide to invest in education or not, is failing self-confidence. To overcome this, the attitude of the significant other (Mead 2001/1934) takes on a decisive importance. A turning point process involves an identity crisis in which a new professional role is to take place, a strain for both the participant and the whole family (Fuchs Ebaugh 1988). Other human motivation processes, besides self-realization, are a long-awaited change in their working life situation and the participants' desire to enter the community in a working group they look forward to. To get there, participants see education as a fulfilling way and a way to increase their employability. The participants in this study believe that it was random that decided which education they ended up with in many cases, but with Planned Happenstance as an explanatory model it appears that the choice were really based on conscious attitudes (Mitchell, Levin and Krumboltz 1999). This thesis can increase the knowledge for study and career counselors, about how individuals should be approached and what areas the profession should focus on to help individuals reach future career aspirations through an informed choice.

Redo för ett liv med kultur : Sex kulturskolelärares perspektiv på sina elevers livslånga lärande genom ideellt kulturutövande / Ready for a life with culture : Six culture school teachers’ perspectives on their students lifelong learning through non-profit cultural practitioning

Nygren, Sofia January 2020 (has links)
This essay is a qualitative study that examines the relationship between the Swedish kulturskola (non-compulsory cultural school for children and young adults), the non-profit cultural life and the phenomenon of lifelong learning. It raises the question wether teachers in the cultural school have a plan for their students lifelong learning or not; what their experience is of collaboration with the non-profit cultural life and if they take any concrete actions to facilitate the students entry into the local cultural life as amateur cultural practitioners. The theoretical framework is the situated learning theory by Lave & Wenger and the context of action theory by Dreier. Six teachers have been interviewed in the study. The result of the study is that the teachers see great values of their students lifelong learning, however, the collaboration with non-profit cultural associations is not always easy because of differences in perspective. It is helpful if the teacher him-/herself has the possibility of being personally engaged in, or at least has experience from, the non-profit cultural life, in order to be able to bridge the gap that arises for students trying to enter the adult cultural world. It is also suggested that teachers need to be given enough resources and support to be able to participate in collaborations with the associations of the local non-profit cultural life. The matter of students’ lifelong learning is urgent not only for the individual student or cultural organizations, but also for the society as a whole.

Podoba naplňování principů komunitního vzdělávání v praxi. Případová studie komunitní školy / The forms of implementation of the principles of community education in practice. Case study of a community school.

Dvořáčková, Veronika January 2014 (has links)
2 Abstract The mail aim of this thesis is to set the concept of community education in the broader perspective of historical sociology and to do a case study to find out in which ways the selected Czech primary community school fulfils the principles of community education in practice. Firstly, the work focuses on the general presenta- tion of basic concepts, which are associated with community education (terms of education and community). This is followed by a description and analysis of the principles of community education and by an overview of its historical roots, first abroad and then in the Czech Republic. Attention is also paid to organizations which try to implement community education in the Czech Republic with emphasis on the role and cooperation of primary schools and civil society organizations. After this theoretically oriented part follows the empirical part, which is introduced by the design of the case study. Then the description of the community primary school is provided and results of the research are introduced. Key Words Community education, principles of community education, community, lifelong learning, community school, organizations of civil society

Celoživotní vzdělávání zdravotních sester ve veřejněpolitické perspektivě / Continuing Professional Development of Nurses: a public policy perspective.

Syrovátková, Tereza January 2016 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with a topic of continuing professional development of nurses in the Czech Republic. The text is divided into two mutually connected dimensions. The first one focuses on a nurse as a stakeholder with certain motivations, strategies, and attitudes. The second dimension discusses the existing system of continuing professional development for nurses in terms of its implementation, form, as well as dysfunctional elements, and future challenges. The thesis shows a connection between the above dimensions. The formalised system of continuing professional development is supposed to affect nursing profession. At the same time, nurses are expected to be involved in the decision-making process. These assumptions are faced with the reality in the thesis. A qualitative study among nurses and experts leads to a conclusion that the current system does not fulfil nurses' both professional (in terms of quality and relevance of the education provided) and personal (financial and time burden) needs. Thus it hardly achieves its original goals. Should the system be changed, the nurses must engage in the decision-making process, which they currently do not. The continuing professional development might serve as one of the solutions to the insufficient political participation of nurses. Despite...

Fiktivní firma jako prostředek osvojování cizího jazyka / Practice Enterprise as a Way of Acquiring Foreign Languages

Pecková, Simona January 2015 (has links)
TITLE: Practice Enterprise as a Way of Acquiring Foreign Languages AUTHOR: Simona Pecková DEPARTMENT: Department of the French Language and Literature SUPERVISOR: Dr.PhDr. Renáta Listíková, MCF ABSTRACT: The thesis deals with the potential that the subject called practice enterprise represents for acquisition of foreign languages. The aim of the work is to carry out a survey of the present situation, to find about the pupils' level of business language and also to discover what their attitude to the practice enterprise and their motivation to study foreign languages are. By focussing the language instruction on working life, we want to enhance their competitiveness on the labour market. Quantitative research methods are combined here with qualitative ones. Concerning the tools of research, we used didactic test, questionnaire, interview and focus group. We have found out that the practice enterprise has a positive influence on students' level of foreign languages. However, no connection between practice enterprise and pupils' attitude to foreign languages and their motivation to study them has been proved. In order to take a bigger advantage of the potential of practice enterprise as a means to acquire foreign languages, we recommend a bigger and a more systematic integration of language instruction into...

Lifelong topological visual navigation

Wiyatno, Rey R. 10 1900 (has links)
The ability for a robot to navigate using vision only is appealing due to its simplicity. Traditional vision-based navigation approaches require a prior map-building step that was arduous and prone to failure, or could only exactly follow previously executed trajectories. Newer learning-based visual navigation techniques reduce the reliance on a map and instead directly learn policies from image inputs for navigation. There are currently two prevalent paradigms: end-to-end approaches forego the explicit map representation entirely, and topological approaches which still preserve some loose connectivity of the space. However, while end-to-end methods tend to struggle in long-distance navigation tasks, topological map-based solutions are prone to failure due to spurious edges in the graph. In this work, we propose a learning-based topological visual navigation method with graph update strategies that improves lifelong navigation performance over time. We take inspiration from sampling-based planning algorithms to build image-based topological graphs, resulting in sparser graphs with higher navigation performance compared to baseline methods. Also, unlike controllers that learn from fixed training environments, we show that our model can be finetuned using a relatively small dataset from the real-world environment where the robot is deployed. Finally, we demonstrate strong system performance in real world robot navigation experiments.
