_______________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / The thesis of the triad basis of the literary work starts to be developed by displaying the literary speech, in some of its aspects, focusing the complexity as one of the main constituent elements of the literary work nature. The notion of complexity worked here does not follow what is called complex paradigms developed by Edgar Morin, but it is defined as a set of elements interacting simultaneously inside the literary work. The idea of complex nature of the literary work is established in the plurality of elements that integrate the literary phenomenon as they are: the analysis perspectives, the space-temporary aspects, essential elements to the constitution of the literary work, such as author, device and reader etc. To the indicated elements as constituent of the complex nature of the literary composition, it is added the tripod, which founds the process of creation and literary existence and that is composed of the esthetic, epistemology and ethics. The definition of this tripod as genetic base of the literary composition constitutes the object of this thesis, which studies the concept of esthetic works as an ontological truth that unmasks the possible worlds to the human being existence, in a language that nor philosophy, nor science can unmask. The notion of esthetic as the science of the beauty is not followed here. The epistemology as base of the literary composition is not equivalent to the theory of the knowledge developed by the philosophy, nor to the description of the psychological processes of cognitive development, but it is followed a thought which bases on the language as a structure that expresses accumulated socially knowledge. The learning that literary language transmits differentiates of other knowledge because they do not depend on definite space and time and because of the opening of the signification. Regarding the ethical basis of the literary composition, it is presented the fact of this work do not follow any laws nor behavior ways as right or wrong, but it is characterized the ethics at the level of the literary composition, as expression of the interior manifestations that unmask the deepest human universe. In each one of the five chapters, how is the thesis structured, there are appointed theories and literary compositions that serve of support for the construction of the thesis.

In the first chapter, Deconstruction reads The Political Unconscious, by Fredric Jameson, in order to show how its author develops a notion of textuality that bears a sharp contradiction with its Marxism. The great achievements of the book are credited to precise this blindness. The main argument points to a reified concept of reification, and the elaboration of an hermeneutic apparatus moved by a dream logic. In the second chapter the contrary happens: the post-structuralist notion of Text is first analyzed in The Pleasure of the Text, by Roland Barthes, as a late stage of penetration of the Enlightenrnent in the realm of language, which generates terror from the most updated rationality; then it is seen as representing a specific phase in late capitalismo In the third chapter both positions are weighed in face of that( literary text conceived as a locus of negativity. No conclusion is provided.

_________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / We aim to show that a literary production in an iconographic form is also literature and it is by implication necessary to find ways to enable readers to approach it in a creative and interesting manner with the goal of concretizing it by reading. We have drawn as a corpus for this paper on Atlas of human experience by Dutch cartographers Louise van Swaaly and Jean Klare. We have derived our foundation from the semiotic and semiolinguistic approach as well as from the principles of Jauss and Iser, reception theorists who provide the reader with a role as a coauthor. We have likewise delved into Hermeneutics, as it is viewed by Heidegger and Paul Ricoeur, and connected it with the essentials of reception theory. From text genre we proceeded to Classical Antiquity seeking in Plato and Aristotle the construct of mimesis, the origin of the work of art, as well as the various types of literary genre which have shaped literature over the centuries. To attain our goal, we have shaped the conception of literature based on Terry Eagleton’s work, which made us embark on an all-pervasive survey from the early times up to the present age, all the way from the literal concept down to the theories arising after the Russian formalists. The historical-critic approach emerging there from has led us to realize how deep literature’s social influence is and, likewise, how it has enriched itself from human experience upon getting rid of the rigidity of its norms. Based on this theoretical framework, we have brought four maps into analysis, out of the twenty-one making up the work, chosen in accordance with the historic-literary aspects on which the survey has been grounded. As our goal is to be of help to those committed to teaching - who believe in reading as a power affording a way out of ambivalent situations - we have systematized procedures to render effectual the development of interpretive skills among students.

The present work happens from a reading meeting, between my readings of the Milan Kundera and Denis Diderot novels – more specifically, reading the novel by Diderot, Jacques, the fatalist and his master and play created by Kundera as an honor to Diderot, entitled Jacques and his master – these works make up the corpus of our analysis. This dissertation aims to understand and think about the concepts of Fatalism and Lightness in a way close to Milan Kundera (2006, p. 107) considered as being the work of a novelist, the work of realizing that "without ceasing, the aesthetic concepts are transformed into inquiries"1 and a novel often "is but a long pursuit of some fugitive definitions"2. In other words, dedicate, here, thinking a concept while fugitive definitions, is say, think about it in your aesthetic dimension and your intuitive potential – a concept as a way of life and thought. Therefore, we propose an analysis from the aesthetic character Ludvik (La plaisanterie, 1967) and the fatalists of Milan Kundera (1981) and Denis Diderot (1976). Such characters, by the way they are composed and presented aesthetically by the authors, allow us to think the existential implications of certain ways of life that are expressed in the form of fatalisms of an epoch, at the same time they mark other possible ways of life and subjectivation, lighter.

_______________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / Fundamental to learning in general, reading is required in school and in social institutions. Therefore, this research focuses on the reception of literary reading in the early grades of elementary school. It aims at providing a contribution for teachers, who are the key mediators of the process of expanding the cognitive, emotional and social horizons of literate children, through reading. The research is divided in two interrelated parts: initially, it brings back the voice of some theoreticians that provide backing and support for the teaching activities; next it presents mediation cases developed with students and evaluated in two different time segments. The first part presents a literature review concerning the theory of the aesthetics of reception. The reader, in this theory, is the one who concretize the literary reading. The fusion of the experience and expectation horizons of these readers affords an opportunity for dialogue and favors the development of the seven theses and of the reading levels of the aesthetics of reception. The second part presents the description of projects and literary sequences developed in the classroom. The current state of experience occured in seven encounters with literary texts by Ana Maria Machado. The results indicate some necessary stances for the development of reading competence of early grades students, among them the need for mediation by an adult reader who is able to carry out the proposed steps. It also highlights the need to work with a plurality of texts, thematically assembled from experiential, concrete situations. Among the proposed texts, literary ones should be included, for the various reasons set forth in this work and for the scope of horizons that it opens to the children's imaginary universe. It is argued, finally, that the work in the Portuguese discipline in the early grades should be performed mainly with the reading of literary texts.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / In 2012, the works of Virginia Woolf (1882-1941) entered the public domain, which apparently encouraged the emergence of new translations in Brazil, and Mrs. Dalloway received three new translations in this year. In this Master’s thesis, four Brazilian translations of Mrs. Dalloway into Portuguese will be compared to the corresponding work in English. The translations considered will be the following ones: by Mario Quintana published in 1946 (Editora Globo, Porto Alegre), and the translations published in 2012, rendered by Denise Bottmann (L&PM, Porto Alegre, 2012), Tomaz Tadeu (Autêntica, Belo Horizonte, 2012), and Claudio Alves Marcondes (Cosac Naify, São Paulo, 2013). The Polyssistems theory (EVENZOHAR, 1990; TOURY, 1995; BASSNETT, 1993, 2002) and the theoretical scheme for translation description outlined by José Lambert and Hendrik Van Gorp (1985) will be the basis to make the comparison of the work in English and its four corresponding translations in Portuguese. From the analysis proposed by that scheme, it will be possible to observe differences and also similarities in the choices of translators in respect with specific stylistic aspects of Woolf’s Mrs. Dalloway. These aspects include rhymes, repetitions, alliterations and the deliberate use of punctuation which settle the rhythm of Woolf´s writing. The scheme for translation description by Lambert and Van Gorp (1985) proposes the analysis of each translation in four levels: preliminary data, macro-level, micro-level and systemic context. Interviews and statements by translators will be considered in the translation process analysis. It was possible to observe that the four translations are different in terms of editorial features, but not so much in relation to the four translators’ attempt to get closer to Virginia Woolf’s poetic writing, what was more evident in the translations of Bottmann, Tadeu, and Marcondes. Quintana, whose translation was the first one, took decisions which are less aligned with the source text, mainly because he tends to modify some aspects of Mrs. Dalloway, such as the punctuation and the repetition of words.

The present thesis aims to understand the aesthetics created by Brazilian writer Glauco Mattoso (1951), featuring him as a literary instancy, in which the contesting, fetishist and confessional writing composes his work, from parodic prose to Fescennine verses. Among intertexts and dialogues between languages and forms, this writer from São Paulo moves through themes such as torture and feet fetish, rawly depicted by the pain of his blindness. In this work, the selection of the discussions to analyze the author‟s work is methodologically built upon the point of view of the epistemology of the novel, in order to understand aesthetic issues related to the creation context as a sensitive reason which, in Mattoso, are leaded by an autofictional and heteronymic speech. To justify this path of the analysis, the classical aesthetes Immanuel Kant and F. Hegel – here considered essential to understand the creation process – were invoked to elucidate the topics about the aesthetic choice as a epistemological, historical, sensitive and rational lines of research that compose the work of Mattoso. The analysis starts mainly from his most important prose, the autofiction narrative Manual do Podólatra Amador (Handbook of the Amateur Foot Fetishist - 1986/2006), to address the contextual elements which contemplate the path of his publications, built upon aesthetic choices that repeat themselves. Because of this repetition, it was necessary to evoke other work from Mattoso, such as JORNAL DOBRABIL, aiming to reach the aesthetic line conducted by the author. To think about aesthetics in Glauco Mattoso is to think about an anti-aesthetics, defined in this thesis as the contrary to the kitsch style, here called anti-kitsch, in which the denial of the harmony and the unveiling of the “not said” take shape in Mattoso‟s literary scope, through his major motto: shit. From literary creation to abjection context, many authors were essential to analyze Mattoso and his confessional features, such as Michel Foucault, Wolfgang Iser, Serge Doubrovsky, Fernando Pessoa, Julia Kristeva and Michel Maffesoli. The goals of this work are to get a “multi” view, able to reach the main elements which support the epistemological axis of the thesis, divided in three sections: The glaucomattoso, The autofictionist and The anti-aesthetic.

_______________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / Catharsis, which broadly means cleansing, clearing and purging, either through experience tolerable or enjoyable, becomes the object of study to understand the possibility of existential constructions in the subject which deeply relates to art, essentially the literary process one that provides the scope of epiphany is as harmony, integrity and lighting, thus causing us a state of sublimation.. In addition to this constitution beneficial and necessary to the individual, seeks to understand how these processes occurs transcendental refers both the author and the receiver to Eternity - sublime moment that goes beyond temporality and allows them to feel unique and intense experience. It is unaffected by the works of the artist Clarice Lispector deepening this research, relating the concepts of the aesthetics of reception, dialogism, polyphony, existentialism, catharsis and epiphany, sparking a concrete connection in order to substantiate that literary art can actually be an object of existential understanding.
