No. of bitstreams: 1 ErikaSP_DISSERT.pdf: 1538043 bytes, checksum: c1e9ee9d8ad94de102cf9059d099dad1 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2009-08-27 / This research has considered Trypanosome s outbreaks by T. vivax that occurred in four groups of little ruminants in three towns of Alto Sertão da Paraíba in 2008 and recreated the disease experimentally in caprines and ovines, in order to relate the cardiac and central nervous system injuries with the parasite. For the statistics analyses the Test of Tukey (SAS) and the Qui-square (Epi Info 6.0) were done. The natural infection evaluation was done in the first outbreak (outbreak 1) and second (outbreak 2) semester of 2008, when the clinic signs were registered, parasitemia, rectal temperature, PCV and body score. 20% of adult caprine and ovine from each flock were chosen. It was noticed that in the first outbreak, the parasitemia was significantly bigger than in the second outbreak for both species, suggesting an acute and chronic stage of the disease. There was also a significant relation between the parasitemia, the temperature, the PCV and the body score in caprines and ovines. The anemia is a more evident clinical signal of the disease, followed by weight loss. At the PCR checkup, it was noticed that all the animals checked had the parasite in the blood. To evaluate the relation between the cardiac injuries with the T. vivax, 14 male ovines were used, SRD, disposed in 3 groups, being G1 the animals evaluated up to the 20th dpi (day pos infection), the G2, animals evaluated up to the 90th dpi and the G3 which is the control group, corresponding to the days of the groups treated. The isolated from T. vivax was from the outbreak occurred from Paraiba, being inoculated 1 ml containing 107 tripomastigotes. Clinical exams were done, hematological and anatomic-pathological. The animals presented hyperthermia, hydrothorax, ascites and hidropericardium. To the necropsy, the heart from an ovine from G2 presented evidences of cardiac failure. In the histological exam, hyaline necrosis was noticed, miocarditis with infiltrated inflammatory, besides fibrosis, suggestive of cardiac failure. In the evaluation of the injuries at the SNC related to T. vivax 12 male caprines were used, SRD, also disposed in three groups: G1 (animals evaluated in the acute stage of the disease), G2 (animals evaluated at the chronic stage of the disease) and G3 (control group). The isolated from T. vivax was due to an outbreak from ovines in Paraíba, being inoculated 1 ml containing 1.25 x 105 tripomastigotes. Within this study, besides the clinical exams, hematological and anatomic-pathological exams, the biochemical exam of the LCR were also done. The animals presented tetany, bruxism, opisthotonos and severe hyperthermia. In the exam of the LCR, there was a significant increase of the proteins in general and cellularity, as well as glicorrhachia and tubidez LCR. In the histological exam, meningoencephalitis was noticed, characterized by the presence of infiltrated inflammatory, besides morules cells (cells of Mott).

This research is part of the graduate program at Department of Education in Unesp Presidente Prudente and related to the research topic concerning childhood and education, included in the Literature in the school: spaces and contexts, project intended to study the Brazilian and Portuguese realities. The project is coordinated by Professor Dr. Renata Junqueira de Souza and conducted by the Centre for studies in Reading and Literature for children and teens - CELLIJ. The study presented here was first motivated by unfortunate Brazilians’ educational institutions results in regional, national and international tests (Saresp, SAEB, PISA) designed in order to evaluate the students' reading skills. Such results have been shown that the Brazilian schools teaching techniques do not meet to their primary function: teach students to write and read properly. There are some studies that have shown a lack between the students’ reading habits and the required behaviour to meet a reading proficiency level. Moreover the theoretical and pedagogical teachers’ background, generally, is not enough to suitably use the literary stuff with their students. Has a result, the literature learning process has been faced difficulties and the improvement need in this educational context comes out the importance of the research presented here. This research is purposed to study the Reception’s Aesthetics contributions to the literature teaching goal and develop the students’ comprehensive reading skills. In addition to that, it investigates the major issues related to acceptance of the literature. In order to reach these goals, our study draws on the receptional theory from Hans Robert Jauss, on Receptional Methodology created by Bordini and Aguiar and on Levels of literary reception from Hans Kügler. Inventaire et retrait des glaciers dans les alpes françaises depuis la fin du Petit Age Glaciaire / Glacier inventory and retreat of French Alpine glaciers since the end of Little Ice Age

Gardent, Marie 14 March 2014 (has links)
French alpine glaciers are retreating since the end of the Little Ice Age (LIA). In the context of the increasing air temperature and because of issues that they represent, it is necessary to improve glacier monitoring. Before the present study, the only two inventories covering the entire French Alps were made by Mougin (1925) and Vivian (1975). The main goal of this study is to realise a multi-temporal glacier inventory of glaciers in the French Alps and of their proglacial margins. Data from this inventory are used to study glacial retreat since the end of the LIA and to develop methods to detect sector that could be affected by instabilities. Multi-temporal inventory of French Alpine glacier glaciers is made for 3 dates: (i) 2006-2009, based on IGN recent orthophotographs, (ii) 1967-1971, based on 1: 25 000 IGN topographic maps, and (iii) the end of the LIA (for Mont Blanc, Vanoise and Ecrins massifs), crossing old documents and geomorphologic data based on field work and interpretation of orthophotographs. Data are integrated in a Geographical Information System (GIS), combining mapping and data base. Glaciers in the French Alps covered 275 km² in 2006-2009, 369 km² in 1967-1971 and 544 km² at the end of the LIA for Mont Blanc, Vanoise and Ecrins massifs. At a regional scale, glaciers lost 25 % of their 1967-1971 area and 50 % of their LIA area. Glacier shrinkage between 1967-1971 and 2006-2009 is about 2.5 times higher than between the end of the LIA and 2006-2009. At an individual scale glaciers lost 52 % of their area between 1967-1971 and 2006-2009, and 115 disappeared. At regional or individual scale, different trends in glacier shrinkage are observed according to the massifs, size and aspect of the glaciers. Simple methods, based on glaciers inventory and proglacial margins data, are developed in order to identify potential unstable lakes, glaciated sectors prone to glacier lake formation, ice avalanche triggering or mass destabilization, and proglacial margins where sliding or debris flows could occur.

This study demonstrates the results of the research “Several Little Red Riding Hood: tales and retellings from the preferences of a fourth year of elementary school”, developed by the Graduate Program – Master’s in education – from the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, FCT – UNESP, in Presidente Prudente. This study, that is linked to the research line “Formative processes, teaching and learning” and to the Centro de Estudos em Leitura e Literatura Infantil e Juvenil (CELLIJ), resulting from the researcher’s uneasiness and concern in relation to the way the students understand their reading. Therefore, it aimed to analyze fairy tales suggested by fourth-grade children and the relationship between paratext, verbal text, non-verbal text and reading strategies. Thus, the fairy tale “Little Red Riding Hood” is analysed in three versions: “Little Red Riding Hood”, in Perrault’s version, that we name classic, “Little Red Riding Hood – A Bubbly Adventure”, that we name retelling and “Little Red Riding Hood” in an abbreviated version that we name simplified. In this sense, the specific objetives were: to ascertain how the procedures to choose the book implicate in the comprehension, to analyse if and how the verbal text permits the reader’s extensive involvement, to verify the non-verbal text function in the analysed titles and, finally, to ascertain if and how the chosen fairy tales allow relationship with the reading strategies. For this purpose, the research was developed in a municipally-run public school in Presidente Prudente. The methodological procedures occurred in two moments: first, it was used as instrument a questionnaire to know the reader’s profile and interest in relation to the fairy tales. It was noticed that the students are interested in reading this genre, however, many do not know the structure of narrative text; they practice some kind of strategy in their reading, but they do not have awareness about it. In a second moment, a conversation circle was done to ascertain the form of access of the students to the books (in their house, in reading rooms, in classrooms, in all these places or more than one of them), besides the student’s confirmation about their favorite fairy tale. From this, an analysis corpus was delimited, which titles were analyzed taking into account the following thematic axes: paratexts, verbal text, nonverbal text and reading strategies. The results led us to believe that the classic tale and the retelling versions offer major and better conditions for the students understand the text and motivate theirselves to read them. On the other hand, there is no aesthetic quality in the simplified version and it depends on the teacher´s planning to be used meticulously. In this regard, the importance of the education professionals knowing the aspects about the book and about the reading strategies is reaffirmed, in order to teach the students to read all the parts of the book and to become critics and autonomous.
