Create, maintain and reap the rewards of a social media strategy.

Gustavsson, Niklas January 2017 (has links)
This report analyzes the effects that social media marketing has on companies who choose to invest in a social media strategy. Previous research has looked at separate parts of a social media strategy, but no holistic view of the entire life cycle of a social media strategy has been created. Further, this report looks at what companies who choose to invest in a strategy gain from it in terms of different sources of business value. Advertising over digital media has increasingly taken market shares from more traditional advertising such as print, radio and TV. A large portion of this digital advertising is done through social media in the form of directing content at a specific target audience using the various social media platforms marketing algorithms. This increase in digital advertising is coupled by more companies choosing to create a social media presence. However, often have these social media presences failed to net any results due to a lack of understanding of the social media environment and how the consumers use the platforms. A case study was conducted on Marvelous, a Nordic digital agency specializing in social media. The case study also analyzed one of Marvelous’ clients who has invested in a social media strategy through them. The reason for this case study was to see how social media marketing is done in practice by a leading company within the industry. To complement the case study and get a less nuanced view of the development of a strategy and the results of it, qualitative interviews were held with other industry professionals who have worked with social media for several years. The results show that the life cycle of a social media strategy is made up of six stages: the pre-assessment stage, the strategy creation stage, the basics & hypotheses stage, the maturation & capitalization stage, the short-term evaluation stage and lastly the long-term evaluation stage. These different stages help companies in creating a strategy to guide social media efforts sustainably over a long period, leading to economical sustainability of the companies through granting advantages such as increased brand strength, increased sales and reaching a new consumer basis amongst other advantages. These advantages are gained while simultaneously strengthening the bond between consumer and company through the two-way communication that social media has enabled.

The role of the ward manager in creating a conducive clinical learning environment for nursing students

Netshandama-Funyufunyu, Vhonani Olive 11 1900 (has links)
The aim of this study was to investigate the role of the ward manager in creating a conducive clinical learning environment for nursing students. An explorative descriptive research method was employed. Findings reveal that the ward managers are generally satisfied with the way in which they handled the important role they play in facilitating teaching and learning for nursing students. They feel strongly, however, that the nursing students themselves need to be active in the learning process. While acknowledging the efforts of the ward managers in creating and maintaining the learning environment, nursing students were dissatisfied about several aspects that appeared to be lacking in the clinical environment, such as good interpersonal relations, support, exposure to practice administrative skills (for example, problem-solving and decision-making) and lack of feedback about their performance. There appears to be a need to develop more effective support structures within the learning environment so that nursing students can obtain sufficient exposure to learning opportunities. / Health Studies / M.A. (Advanced Nursing Sciences)

Les ESAT de transition, une voie de rétablissement "par et vers" l’emploi pour les personnes vivant avec des troubles psychiques / The ESAT de transition, an employment helping for the recovery of people with severe mental illness

Pierrefeu, Inès de 30 June 2017 (has links)
Work is a key-factor of recovery for people with severe mental illness. Various programs exist to support them to gain and maintain competitive employment. In France, the rate of employment remains low for this population and only scarce researches are developed in this field, although some French practices, such as the Ç ESAT de transition È (transitional workshops) of the MESSIDOR association, appear to be performing well. Theses transitional workshops support people with psychiatric disability to gain a competitive employment on the regular labor market while working in a sheltered activity. The goal of this research was to describe the Ç ESAT de transition È program, comparing it to international evidence-based practices, such as supported-employment programs, and to define how this program can facilitate a recovery process for people with a severe mental illness. The first part of this research is intended to describe the program with a mixed method (qualitative then quantitative) in order to compare it with international evidence-based practices and to describe the roles, tasks and competencies of the two professionals supervising people with a severe mental illness, counselors and supervisors, and to define how they contribute to a recovery process for them. A second part of the research is dedicated to clients of this program, with a longitudinal study (n=160) of clinical and psychosocial variables, at the beginning of the program, and in order to document predictive factors of their job tenure in the program, of their positive evolution to work integration on the regular labor market and of their recovery. These Ç ESAT de transition È are an hybrid form of a sheltered workshop, social enterprise and supported-employment program for people with a severe mental illness. In a workplace close to the context of regular labor market, thanks to a subtle relational posture, the two professionals supervising the workers help them to develop a new positive identity, self-esteem as a worker and hope in the future, which are key-factors of a recovery process. Clients have a positive perception of their situation in this program, on clinical and psychosocial variables, and this perception is stable on the 9 months follow-up of the study. They confirm that self-esteem as a worker, counselors and supervisors are key-factors to ensure their job tenure in the program, their positive evolution to work integration on the regular labor market and their recovery. Practical implications and recommendations from this research are the type of support that should be developed in France for people a with severe mental illness to help their work integration, as well as the type of training and supervision that should be offered to the professionals supporting them.

Integrating conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity : Four Examples of Ecosystem Management Areas in Germany and Sweden

Solbrig, Franziska January 2007 (has links)
<p>The loss of biodiversity is recognised as a tremendous threat to ecosystems, but its maintenance is challenging. One important issue is seen as decisive for its success: the integration of sustainable use and conservation of biodiversity that means to reconcile protective measures with different kinds of use. This study investigated management areas that explicitly emphasise this issue: UNESCO Man and Biosphere (MAB) Reserves that shall contribute to reconcile the conservation of biodiversity with its sustainable use and an initiative from the Swedish government called Regional Landscape Strategies that aims to find a balance between sustainable use and conservation on a landscape level. In three MAB Reserves in Germany and one Swedish county testing Regional Landscape Strategies semi-structured interviews were conducted. They aimed to detect the values and factors steering the decisions of biodiversity management and conservation as well as to identify obstacles for sustainable use, conservation and their integration in general. The interviews reveal that the connected terms and concepts can be interpreted in different ways and this exacerbates the work. Furthermore, the study detects some issues that can facilitate the integration of sustainable use and conservation of biodiversity in the respective areas and discussed their applicability on a larger scale. Examples are the establishment of a kind of forum involving local affected stakeholders and the creation of a connection point mediating the different sectors within the administration. These aspects could help to design the management of biodiversity more sustainable if they would be part of the mainstream management practises. Regarding the state of biodiversity that shall be achieved or maintained it can be mentioned that different factors and values steer the decisions; intrinsic values are underlying, but further issues seem crucial: practicability of the respective land use, aesthetic values, a high resilience of the system as well as the near-natural states.</p>

The ability to internal career : A factor that affects and motivatives the choice to stay in the organization

Nordström, Lydia January 2017 (has links)
Career is something that today no only appears when an employee moves from one organization to another but can also appear within an organization. This can allow the employee to develop without changing workplace and the organization can maintain the qualification in the organization and reduce the turnover. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate how employees perceive that the possibility of internal careers influences and motivates them in the election to stay within their current organization. The study is conducted in a public administration, at the municipal level. 20 respondents have participated through qualitative mail interviews. The result of the study showed that all respondents would consider leaving their current employer if they did not get the opportunity to an internal career. It was also found that other factors affected and motivated the employees to stay within the current organization, while the factor salary was what respondents generally thought was least important for the choice to stay or leave their current organization. This demonstrates that it is important for employers in the public sector, to be aware of and ensure what is required to not lose their employees and the qualification they possess. For future research, it would be interesting to study if this is a "small town phenomenon" or if the result would be the same in a larger city. The survey has been conducted in a municipality with a population of approximately 40,000.

Andersson, Ida, Tyrbjörn, Emilia January 2021 (has links)
Background: COPD is a progressive inflammatory disease that affects lung tissue and airways. A characteristic symptom is dyspnea that can lead to fear of effort. Most people do not meet the recommendations of physical activity. During 2020 the pressure on health careincreased, interventions reduced and amongst groups at most risk physical and mental illness has increased. Physiotherapist has an important part in finding strategies in maintaining physical activity, which can obstruct during a pandemic.  Aim: To examine how people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease experience their opportunities to physical activity during the covid-19 pandemic and how they experience that affects their quality of life. Methods: Six semi-structured interviews with participants with COPD implemented which has been analyzed through a qualitative content analysis. Results: The analysis gave three categories. The results showed decreased levels of physical activity, deteriorating well-being and reduced social support. Conclusion: This study gave a possible explanation to what affects the opportunities to physical activity during covid-19. Reduced social support and increased anxiety/fear inrelation to physical activity was affected at the participants to maintain physical activity and experience of quality of life.

Les statuts spéciaux des baux d'habitation : l'état de la crise et les prospectives des solutions : étude comparée entre droit français et libanais / Special laws of residential leases : state of crisis and forward-looking solutions : comparative study between French and Libanese law

Tarchichi, Riyad 18 July 2012 (has links)
The law is the product of human society. It's found when this society is at the top of its success and its tracks are more blatant when this one is affected by various crisis. The Act has to adapt to these various states. This idea is summarized among others by Mr. BURDEAU : “The disintegration of the concept of law is not explainable by the only data of the legal universe; it's a reflection of a sociological phenomenon”. Then we understand that sometimes, social crises lead to an infringement of the law, to its transcendent authority. Some authors explain that this impairment brings loss of the essential characters of this law which are the generality, the impersonality and the universality. This loss is for the benefit of the principle of stability of the society. The special status of residential leases are an example of the impairment of the main characters of the Act.After the 2nd World War in France and the civil war in Lebanon, French and Lebanese legislators found themselves repairing the social and humanitarian crises from the war. Many social laws have been enacted, particularly in residential leases. New legal statutes have emerged. The legislator had to consider the interests of the tenant, without forgetting that of the lessor. He had to ensure the general interest by respect for personal freedom and the protection of private property considered as fundamental principles in the constitution of the two countries and the human rights conventions. Our study will be based on these special laws (act of September 1, 1948 in France and July 23, 1992 in Lebanon), on their characteristics, operation and plans. We will examine their social, economic and legal impact to see if they appear as a solution to the social crisis, without leading to a legislative crisis.
