This thesis is called "Management of project activities in the enterprises of light industry" and deals with the analysis of the management of project activities, including procurement assessment made objects in terms of quantity and quality, time and cost. The theoretical part is included research issues relating to the manufacture, production processes and their associated characteristics. The practical part describes the characteristics of a social organization, the analysis of manufacturing processes aimed at product realization, production planning, resource management, preparation and production management and quality policy, including an analysis of the produced object. On the basis of these analyzes were set out proposals for a more effective management of the company and improve the functioning of the company in the long run.

This diploma thesis called Quality Management In The Selected Company is focused on quality management system, its oganisation, management and development. The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyse chosen areas of implemented quality management system in the selected company, to identify bottlenecks and to suggest changes and to propose recommendations for achieving better results in this area. The analysed company is called EBAS spol. s r.o. which focuses on metal and wood production. The theoretical review is dedicated to the issue of quality management, starting with term and concept of quality and quality management, followed by identification of advantages and importance of quality management system. Certain attention is paid to quality management processes, and last but not least, costs of quality and documentation in quality management system. The practical part of the diploma thesis begins with the company in general, especially with company history, its activities, portfolio and organization structure, followed by the analysis of selected areas of current quality mangement system applied in the company. The analysis includes the analysis of processes of the quality management system, documentation of QMS, quality goals and politics, supplier rating system and at last but not least, customer satisfaction monitoring system. Based on this analysis there are several reccomendations proposed, which should lead not only to increased quality management system efficiency, but also to increased efficiency of company in general.

CoordenaÃÃo de AperfeiÃoamento de Pessoal de NÃvel Superior / Neste trabalho, analisam-se os impactos da Proposta de AdesÃo da UFC ao REUNI no atendimento do Restaurante UniversitÃrio, decorrentes do grande aumento na demanda, sob o prisma do planejamento e da gestÃo estratÃgica, focando-se nas aÃÃes realizadas no perÃodo de 2003 a 2008. Para tanto, utilizam-se como suporte teÃrico-empÃrico os postulados da AdministraÃÃo EstratÃgica e da Escola de Aprendizado, tendo como referencial o cenÃrio atual e futuro e o diagnÃstico estratÃgico formulado com base na anÃlise SWOT. Foram utilizados os mÃtodos de pesquisa bibliogrÃfica, documental e pesquisa-aÃÃo. O estudo mostra que a expansÃo prevista de 3.000 para 6.000 refeiÃÃes/dia afetarà a qualidade dos serviÃos e do atendimento aos usuÃrios em funÃÃo das limitaÃÃes atuais de infra-estrutura fÃsica, de equipamentos, de pessoal qualificado e, sobretudo, da necessidade de implantaÃÃo de um modelo da gestÃo focada em resultados. Para esse novo cenÃrio, sugere-se um Plano EstratÃgico para o perÃodo 2009-2020, um Plano TÃtico 2009-2012, uma matriz de indicadores de desempenho focada no mÃtodo do Balanced scorecard, alÃm das diretrizes do modelo da gestÃo orientado para resultados e aderentes Ãs peculiaridades do Restaurante UniversitÃrio da UFC. As propostas de aÃÃo e do modelo de gerenciamento contidos nos planos estratÃgicos, quando adotadas, darÃo ao RU condiÃÃes objetivas de infra-estrutura operacional, suporte de pessoal e excelÃncia da gestÃo para assegurar e atà aumentar a aprovaÃÃo da qualidade dos serviÃos que hoje à 60,3% para os atributos Bom e Ãtimo. / The present work focuses on the analysis of the impacts of the Federal University of Cearà affiliation proposal to the Reuni, concerning attendance to the University Restaurant on a result of the increasing demand, in the perspective of strategic planning and management, based on the actions carried out from 2003 to 2008. For such end, the postulates of Strategic administration and of Learning School have been adopted, having as a reference the present and future scenario and the strategic diagnosis based on the SWOT analysis. The present research (study) adopted the bibliographical, documental and action-research methods. The research shows that the foreseen expansion in the number of meals per day, from 3000 to 6000, will have an impact on the quality of the services delivered to the users, due to the present limitations in infra-structure, equipments, qualified personnel, and, above all, the need for implementing a pattern of management aimed at results. For this new scenario the following measures have been suggested, including a Strategic Plan for 2009-2020, a Tatic Plan for 2009-2012, a performance marker matrix focused on the Balanced scorecard method, besides management pattern guidelines, oriented towards results and users in the specific context of the University restaurant. The actions and management patterns proposed in the strategic plans, when adopted , will allow the University restaurant to have operational infra-structure, staff support and management excellence to assure and contribute to the approval in the service quality from the present percentage of 60.3% aiming to reach the concepts of good and excellent.

Os experimentos analisam e manipulam uma grande quantidade de conjuntos de dados gerando novos dados para serem (re) utilizados por outros experimentos. A base para a obtenção de bons resultados científicos está fortemente associada ao grau de qualidade de tais da- dos. No entanto, os dados utilizados nos experimentos são manipulados por uma diversa variedade de usuários, os quais visam interesses diferentes de pesquisa, utilizando seus próprios vocabulários, metodologias de trabalho, modelos, e necessidades de amostragem. Considerando este cenário, um desafio em ciência da computação é oferecer soluções que auxiliem aos cientistas na avaliação da qualidade dos seus dados. Diferentes esforços têm sido propostos abordando a avaliação de qualidade. Alguns trabalhos salientam que os atributos de proveniência dos dados poderiam ser utilizados para avaliar qualidade. No entanto, a maioria destas iniciativas aborda a avaliação de um atributo de qualidade específico, frequentemente focando em valores atômicos de dados. Isto reduz a aplicabilidade destas abordagens. Apesar destes esforços, há uma necessidade de novas soluções que os cientistas possam adotar para avaliar o quão bons seus dados são. Nesta pesquisa de doutorado, apresentamos uma abordagem para lidar com este problema, a qual explora a noção de proveniência de dados. Ao contrário de outras abordagens, nossa proposta combina os atributos de qualidade especificados dentro de um contexto pelos especialistas e os metadados que descrevem a proveniência de um conjunto de dados. As principais contribuições deste trabalho são: (i) a especificação de um framework que aproveita a proveniência dos dados para obter informação de qualidade, (ii) uma metodologia associada a este framework que descreve os procedimentos para apoiar a avaliação da qualidade, (iii) a proposta de dois modelos diferentes de proveniência que possibilitem a captura das informações de proveniência, para cenários fixos e extensíveis, e (iv) a validação dos itens (i) a (iii), com suas discussões via estudos de caso em agricultura e biodiversidade / Abstract: Data quality is a recurrent concern in all scientific domains. Experiments analyze and manipulate several kinds of datasets, and generate data to be (re)used by other experiments. The basis for obtaining good scientific results is highly associated with the degree of quality of such datasets. However, data involved with the experiments are manipulated by a wide range of users, with distinct research interests, using their own vocabularies, work methodologies, models, and sampling needs. Given this scenario, a challenge in computer science is to come up with solutions that help scientists to assess the quality of their data. Different efforts have been proposed addressing the estimation of quality. Some of these efforts outline that data provenance attributes should be used to evaluate quality. However, most of these initiatives address the evaluation of a specific quality attribute, frequently focusing on atomic data values, thereby reducing the applicability of these approaches. Taking this scenario into account, there is a need for new solutions that scientists can adopt to assess how good their data are. In this PhD research, we present an approach to attack this problem based on the notion of data provenance. Unlike other similar approaches, our proposal combines quality attributes specified within a context by specialists and metadata on the provenance of a data set. The main contributions of this work are: (i) the specification of a framework that takes advantage of data provenance to derive quality information; (ii) a methodology associated with this framework that outlines the procedures to support the assessment of quality; (iii) the proposal of two different provenance models to capture provenance information, for fixed and extensible scenarios; and (iv) validation of items (i) through (iii), with their discussion via case studies in agriculture and biodiversity / Doutorado / Ciência da Computação / Doutora em Ciência da Computação

Kvalita externího auditu a vliv výběru auditora na kvalitu auditu / The quality of the external audit and the influence of the selection of an auditor on audit quality

The thesis deals with audit quality and auditor selection. These can indeed have a significant effect on audit quality. The introductory chapters of the thesis describe a quality in general form. It offers a basic characteristic of audit and auditor. It is deal with a legislative framework, necessary standards and another regulation of audit quality. Subsequently, it explains control system of audit quality in the Czech Republic and it describes watchdog bodies in the Czech Republic. After that the publication of Federation of European Accountants (FEE) from 2013 is analysed and criteria are presented. These criteria proceed from survey of FEE and determine the auditor selection. In conclusion it deals with application of discovered information on the individual practical examples of application for execution of audit or other audit services. This achieved information is used to create a sample form. This sample form of application for execution of audit could serve to improve of audit quality in the first stage of auditor selection. The ISO standards, book of Audit and the FEE publication are the main information source for the thesis.

This thesis is focused on Master Data Management (MDM), Customer Data Integration (CDI) area and its main domains. It is also a reference to a various theoretical directions that can be found in this area of expertise. It summarizes main aspects, domains and presents different perspectives to referenced principles. It is an exhaustive background research in area of Master Data Management with emphasis on practical use with references on authors experience and opinions. Secondary focus is directed to the field of business value of Master Data Management initiatives. Thesis presents a thought concept for initiations of MDM project. The reason for such a concept is based on current trend, where companies are struggling to determine actual benefits of MDM initiatives. There is overall accord on the subject of necessity of such initiatives, but the struggle is in area of determining actual measureable impact on company's revenue or profit. Since the MDM initiative is more of an enabling function, rather than direct revenue function, the benefit is less straight forward and therefore harder to determine. This work describes different layers and mapping of business requirements through layers for transparent linkage between enabling functions to revenue generating ones. The emphasis is given to financial benefit calculation, measurability and responsibility of business and IT departments. To underline certain conclusions thesis also presents real world interviews with possible stakeholders of MDM initiative within the company. These representatives were selected as key drivers for such an initiative. Interviews map their recognition of MDM and related terms. It also focus on their reasons and expectations from MDM. The representatives were also selected to equally represent business and IT departments, which presents interesting clash of views and expectations.
