No. of bitstreams: 1 Ayrson Heráclito Novato Ferreira.pdf: 5161682 bytes, checksum: bdffc485b91663e0fd4b750a917a9839 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2016-06-22 / This thesis has as its universe the political and cultural tensions in the field of art in Bahia. The main axis of this research is to point out to the emergence of collections and institutionalized artists, and as a result of this vision to signalize the artists who remained marginal of these process. This initiative scrutinizes documents, interviews and artistic productions to understand how the art scene in Bahia was built from the 1960s, trying to critically analyze conceptual constructions about the art of Bahia. The research reveals how civilizations projects and personal utopias contributed to the tessitura and modification of the specific cultural policies in the state of Bahia. In this sense, the work is settled on an ideal which observes the most institutionalized art system and also on the existence of an independent scene materialized by artists who have a radical artistic production, highlighting the social tensions in Bahia in the period of military dictatorship. So, this thesis is backed by the following questions: 1) the links between civilization projects and cultural policies; 2) the creation of cultural structures in the Bahia’s art scene due to utopias; 3) the collectionism action as a political strategy for the arts; 4) the cultural resistance of artists who produced a marginal condition to art systems in Bahia. Therefore, the relevance of this work is the possibility of thinking about reinforcements and leakages of the art circuit - by attending to the power of producers, although they are not recognized in the Art History of Bahia, who worked significantly in building an innovative and imminently radical visuality / Este trabalho tem como universo de pesquisa as tensões políticas e culturais no campo das artes na Bahia.
