The focus is the study of the image of Xuxa, during the program Xuxa, as the predominant item in capturing the look of the spectator. The choice of this figure takes into account the identification of the mass audience with his image. Xuxa inspires devotion and worship, and many children are thought to be a magician. She became part of the childhood of a whole generation of Brazilians and by 1990 it was possible to speak of a "generation Xuxa, a group that grew up during the era of Xuxa. Based on the discussion as to where is the essence of the success of the "Queen of baixinhos" and what the background that supported his image because Xuxa emerged in the media as a sex symbol training and soon took on the role of idol children in this sense the intention of the research is to show how the image is transformed into a spectacular appearance made by the media and how that image affects the cultural imaginary. Thus, there was a background scenery of Xuxa, a biographical summary of the presenter, where several issues were mythical figure attached to the hero. In addition, treated the issues of fame in contemporary issues of children's consumption, as well as the main themes included in this process: Television and Magazine. Therefore, the methodology consisted of a theoretical basis, selection of scenes during the Xuxa Xuxa, articles published in the journal and reflective and critical analysis of selected content. Through literature, this fascination that the media image of Xuxa has on viewers, has been examined in the light of various scholars of communication, such as Edgar Morin, Regis Debray, Muniz Sodré, Ciro Marcondes Filho, Malena Contreras and the notion of iconofagia proposal by Norval Baitello. In dialogue with and support the authors found that the image produced by the TV capture through its superficial content and search more and more to capture the imagination as a place for commercial exploitation, encouraging children a mentally passive activity. Therefore, the child becomes a spectator of events, preventing the authentic emotions. Image dualistic Xuxa projected on television is the perfect support to hold the projection of the dual character of the goddess Venus, Urania (heavenly) and Pandemic (popular). Thus the media retains the attention of viewers, adults and children, and engage in the light of Venus, which glows with the beauty impeccable. And that's too much light that makes this a "lack of communication / O trabalho de pesquisa a seguir tem como proposta verificar o fenômeno Xuxa. O foco da análise é o estudo da imagem da apresentadora Xuxa, durante o programa Xou da Xuxa, como item predominante na captação do olhar do espectador. A escolha desta personagem leva em conta a identificação da audiência de massa com sua imagem. Xuxa inspira devoção e culto e muitas crianças a imaginavam como um ser mágico. Ela se tornou parte da infância de toda uma geração de brasileiros e por volta de 1990 era possível falar-se de uma geração Xuxa , um grupo que crescera durante a era da Xuxa. Partindo do questionamento a respeito de onde está a essência do sucesso da Rainha dos baixinhos e qual o pano de fundo que sustentou a sua imagem, pois Xuxa emergiu nos meios de comunicação como um símbolo sexual profissional e logo assumiu o papel de ídolo das crianças, nesse sentido a intenção do trabalho de pesquisa é mostrar como essa imagem transforma-se numa aparição espetacular fabricada pela mídia e como essa mesma imagem afeta o imaginário cultural. Dessa forma, realizou-se uma contextualização do cenário do Xou da Xuxa, uma recapitulação biográfica da apresentadora, onde foram destacados vários aspectos míticos, inerentes a figura do herói. Além disso, foram tratadas as questões da fama no contemporâneo, as questões do consumo infantil, como também os principais temas inseridos nesse processo: Televisão e Revista. Para tanto, a metodologia empregada foi constituída de uma fundamentação teórica, seleção de cenas da Xuxa durante o Xou da Xuxa, matérias publicadas em revista e análise crítica e reflexiva do conteúdo selecionado. Por meio da pesquisa bibliográfica, esse fascínio que a imagem midiática da Xuxa exerce nos telespectadores, foi analisado sob a luz de diversos estudiosos da comunicação, como Edgar Morin, Regis Debray, Muniz Sodré, Ciro Marcondes Filho, Malena Contrera e a noção de iconofagia proposta por Norval Baitello. Em dialogo e com apoio nos autores constatou-se que a imagem produzida pela TV nos captura através do seu conteúdo superficial e busca cada vez mais a captação do imaginário como espaço de exploração comercial, favorecendo as crianças uma atividade mental passiva. Portanto, a criança se torna mero espectador de fatos, incapacitando-a de emoções autenticas. A imagem dualística de Xuxa projetada na televisão é o suporte perfeito para conter a projeção do caráter dual da Deusa Vênus: Urânia (celestial) e Pandêmia (popular). Dessa forma a mídia retém a atenção dos telespectadores, adultos e infantis, e os envolvem com a luz de Vênus, que brilha intensamente com a beleza impecável. Vedoucí diplomové práce PhDr. Petr Bednařík Ph.D. Abstrakt: Diplomová práce "Obraz sudetských Němců v českém tisku v krizovém roce 1938" se zabývá mediálním obrazem německé menšiny v Československu v období mnichovské krize (od dubna 1938 do podpisu mnichovské dohody), a to formou komparace, která zahrnuje ústřední tiskové orgány hlavních politických proudů té doby: u ČSDSD - Právo lidu, u ČSNS - České slovo, u ČND (Národního sjednocení) - Národní listy, u KSČ - Rudé právo, u ČSL - Lidové listy a u agrárníků (Republikánské strany zemědělského a malorolnického lidu) - Venkov. Práce se rovněž dotýká postojů českých fašizujících proudů k sudetským Němcům. Výstupy stranických periodik nejsou zkoumány izolovaně, ale i vzhledem k politickým postojům jednotlivých stran a je zohledněn vývoj těchto postojů v čase s tím, jak se krize prohlubovala, rozdělením zkoumaných témat do tří hlavních období roku 1938. anglicky This thesis captures the media image of poverty in the Czech Republic, which is presented in four national daily newspapers on pages dealing with reporting. This work is divided into theoretical part, methodological part and research. The theoretical part deals with media concepts, such as representation of reality, framing, stereotyping, discourse, media image and interconnection issues of poverty and the media. The theoretical part also defines socio- political concepts associated with poverty, their definitions and detailed specification in the context of the Czech Republic. The methodological part defines the used methods, periodicals and investigated research, sample work attaching to the keyword poverty and its variations. Following part is the research, which deals with the quantitative content analysis and qualitative framework analysis, using which corresponds to a set of research questions. The work compares titles with each other, so in total. The conclusion summarizes all the knowledge.

The thesis The media image of the Fair Trade concept in the Czech press examines media image of the Fair Trade business system in the most widely read newspapers Aha!, Blesk, Hospodářské noviny, Lidové noviny, Mladá fronta DNES, Právo and Sport. The aim is to find out whether newspapers report on Fair Trade in broader context and in which frames it is most likely presented. At the same time the thesis examines the extent to which newspapers inform about Fair Trade. There are two hypothesis formulated, one suggesting that the amount of articles referring about Fair trade has an increasing tendency and that articles do not address the issue in broader context. The answers to research questions and the validity of the hypotheses are examined through quantitative and qualitative content analysis based primarily on the framework theory. Deductive procedure using pre-formulated control questions is also used. The finding is that the newspapers most often present Fair Trade in economics frame followed by conflict frame and human impact frame. In addition, the thesis examines the presence of a critical frame, which is almost absent in the newspapers. The context is usually limited. Entre les années 1960 et 1980, les sociétés occidentales sont bouleversées par les revendications de groupes historiquement opprimés, qui remettent en cause la domination patriarcale. Au Brésil, ces revendications se heurtent à une dictature militaire instaurée en 1964 et légitimée par les valeurs conservatrices « Dieu/patrie/famille ». Dans ce travail, nous proposons d'analyser comment ces remises en cause et ces transformations politiques, sociales et économiques influencent et définissent les représentations des identités et des rapports de sexe dans le cinéma brésilien de cette période. Pour y parvenir, nous avons retenu le travail d'un réalisateur, Arnaldo Jabor, et d'une réalisatrice, Ana Carolina. Leur filmographie, qui couvre les trois décennies envisagées, offre en effet un matériel très important pour comprendre la représentation cinématographique du masculin et du féminin, dans un pays qui, tout au long de cette période, ne cesse de se confronter aux contradictions entre modernité et archaïsme. / Between the years 1960 and 1980, the western societies were disrupted by protest movements of historically oppressed groups questioning patriarchal domination. In Brazil, those demands came up against the military dictatorship established in 1964 and legitimated by the "God, homeland, family" conservative values. The aim of this research is to analyse how calling into question and transforming these social, economic and political issues acted upon and helped define identity representations and gender relationships in the Brazilian cinema of the time. To achieve this, we chose the works of a male filmdirector, Arnaldo Jabor, and of a female one, Ana Carolina. Their filmographies span the three decades under study, and present an extensive material, thus allowing us to understand the cinematographic images of masculinity and feminity in a country which kept confronting with the contradictions between modernity and archaism during the period under scrutiny. / Entre os anos 60 e 80, as sociedades ocidentais foram invadidas pelasreivindicações dos grupos historicamente oprimidos que puseram em causa adominação patriarcal. No Brasil, essas reivindicações chocaram-se com aditadura militar instaurada em 1964 e legitimada pelos valores conservadores“Deus/pátria/família”. Neste trabalho, propomos uma análise da maneira comoessas contestações e transformações políticas, sociais e econômicasinfluenciaram e definiram as representações das identidades e relações de sexono cinema brasileiro da época. Com esse objetivo, nos detivemos sobre otrabalho de um diretor, Arnaldo Jabor, e de uma diretora, Ana Carolina. Essasfilmografias abrangem as três décadas consideradas e oferecem, na verdade, ummaterial muito importante para compreendermos a representação cinematográficado masculino e do feminino em um país que, durante todo o período estudado, ésempre confrontado com as contradições entre modernidade e arcaísmo.

The aim of the diploma thesis "Media image of selected components of the Integrated Rescue System during a state of emergency in the Czech Republic in the daily newspapers Lidové noviny, Právo and Blesk" is to show the main features of reporting on the components of the Integrated Rescue System (IRS) during the state of emergency, which was announced in connection with the so-called coronavirus pandemic for the Czech Republic on March 12, 2020 and lasted continuously until until 17 May 2020. Two basic components of the IRS were selected for the analysis - the Medical Rescue Service of the Czech Republic and the Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic, and one of the other components - the Prison Service of the Czech Republic. The depiction of these components was analyzed in the daily newspapers Právo and Lidové noviny, and the daily newspaper Blesk was chosen as the representative of the tabloid press. A qualitative analysis of the collected text showed what topics the daily newspapers dealt with in connection with these IRS units and what role they assigned to them in the "story of the pandemic". The thesis shows in what types of reports the monitored IRS units occurred, what stories were offered to the audience in connection with these components and what myths depicted these stories....

Over the last two years the number of refugees and asylum seekers in European countries dramatically increased, with asylum claims mostly originating from countries affected by war and poverty, especially in the Middle East, Africa, and the Balkans. The rapid increase of the mobility of migrants raises contradictory reactions in society and individual countries can not agree on an acceptable solution. Against the background, Western European countries usually approach the immigrants more openly than Eastern European countries. A big role in the question of acceptance of migrants in different countries is played by the media. In contemporary society, the media constitute the main source of information about what is happening in the world and intermediate events in which the public cannot participate directly. Therefore it is important to examine how mass media in Eastern and Western European countries present the issues of solidarity, human rights, and the right to asylum. The aim of this master thesis is to find out what the main differences are in the case of printed mass media and whether the western newspapers create a better image of refugees than eastern media. The structure and tendencies of Czech television's sports news is analyzed in this thesis. The hidden features and principles are revealed through a qualitative analysis of 17 episodes of the program Branky, body, vteřiny, which contains the information of Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. The author looks at the phenomenon of sport from many different sociological and anthropological perspectives (sport as a ritual, sport and identity construction, gender in the sport). She reveals the processes through which the media image of the Olympic Games is constructed. The final findings are demonstrated by specific examples originating in 17 episodes of sports news.

The thesis, Medial image of a "refugee" in czech press deals with analysis of the image of a "refugee", which is introduced to the czech public via printed media. In theoratical part of my thesis I describe a manner, in which the reality is beeing constructed an what are the mechanisms of media cummunication. Below I explain a way in which are in social and political discourse perceived concepts concerning the so called refugee crisis and then I describe an evolution of the migration on the europian continent. In the research part of my thesis were for specific documentation of the image of a refugee chosen two time periods: The second half of the year 2015 as an apex of the refugee crisis and the second half of the year 2017 where this so called crisis slowly diminishes. With a help of qualitative content analysis of the newspaper articles of theese two periods I research what image of a "refugee" the media had constructed and how that image changed in time. The media chosen for this analysis are the daily newspaper Blesk and the daily newspaper Mladá fronta DNES, because a half of the readers reads one of theese journals, therefore they can influence perception of the image of a refugee with the largest number of the readers.
