Komunikační strategie Knižního klubu / The communication strategy of the Knižní klub company

Adamcová, Kateřina January 2014 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the communication strategy of Knižní klub publisher since its establishment till the end of the year 2013. Knižní klub belongs to publishers that mostly in 90s' formed Czech literary culture by its business model. Until recently it was a part of the world media group Bertelsmann, which has operated literary clubs all over the world since 50s' of the 20th century. It entered the Czech Republic shortly after the revolution and brought many forbidden titles. The policy of edition represented the mix of the quality world literature and also the whole range of saleable books which copied actual readers' trends. On this basis, I focus on historical background and its influence of the policy of edition. Then I deal with the development of the literary club after the year 1989. With The Knižní klub publisher, which has gone through several changes from distribution company to appropriate publisher, I try to target the communicational activities in socio-cultural context. Communication strategy was observed through club catalogues and media. Media image in social-cultural supplements Víkend Mladé fronty Dnes, Salon Práva and critical monthly journal Literární noviny is also part of the text and helps to understand the strategy of the publisher.

Rampa, Robert January 2019 (has links)
This thesis deals with analysis of the media image of five Czech hockey players Patrik Elias, Martin Havlat, Milan Hejduk, Jiri Hudler and Tomas Kaberle during their active career (1996 - 2017) in National Hockey League (NHL). The qualitative method analyzes texts from six Czech newspapers (Blesk, Hospodarske noviny, Lidove noviny, Mlada fronta DNES, Pravo and Sport). Thesis analyzes every twentieth article about Patrik Elias whose headline contained his surname. For the remaining hockey players the thesis analyzes every tenth article due to fewer texts. Mediální obraz hráčů digitálních her v českých mainstreamových a zájmových médiích: v letech 2016 - 2018 / Media image of gamers in czech mainstream and gaming media: during 2016 - 2018

Němečková, Petra January 2019 (has links)
The thesis deals with the image of gamers in Czech media, specifically in the most read daily newspapers. Videogames are still a rather marginal topic within the Czech society, gamers are perceived as weird and socially isolated individuals, and in the worst case they are described as addicted and aggressive. Predictions for the future say that digital games will become a regular part of our lives, but before this happens, I set myself the goal to find out how contemporary Czech media depict people who like to play videogames. This task is important because, whether we want it or not, media represents a reflection of our society and it is also an element that can influence public opinion to some extent. However, if there is a goal to educate public sphere or change the perception of the gaming community, it is necessary to find out what is the current situation among the Czech society. In the theoretical part I deal with the environment in which the media texts are created and their impact on the recipients of the given content. At the same time, I also explain to the reader how gamers really look like. The practical part examines the seven most widely read Czech newspapers Aha!, Blesk, E15, Hospodářské noviny, Lidové noviny, Mladá fronta DNES and Právo. These are the best newspapers when it comes...

Obraz Československa v Chile po převratu roku 1973 a československá propaganda proti chilskému vojenskému režimu / The image of Czechoslovakia after the coup d'etat of 1973 in Chile and the Czechoslovakian propaganda against the Chilean military regime

Hartman, Matouš January 2019 (has links)
The following thesis deals with the question of ideological conflict between the Eastern Bloc and the Chilean military junta. The author of the thesis investigates the media portrayal of Czechoslovakia in Chile and analyses the Czechoslovak media propaganda against the Chilean military government. The qualitative analysis is accompanied by the memories of four Czechs who lived in Chile during the period. The main focus is on the years 1973, 1988 and 1989. The first year marks the beginning of the military dictatorship, the year of the biggest shock. The years 1988 and 1989 mark the end of the nondemocratic governments in both countries, Chile and Czechoslovakia. The daily journals chosen for the analysis were the most important newspapers in the countries of interest. These were El Mercurio and La Segunda in Chile, and Rudé právo and Mladá fronta in Czechoslovakia. The media analysis is accompanied by interviews with Milan Syruček, the foreign editor at Mladá fronta (1973), and Bohuslav Borovička, a Rudé právo reporter in Havana who travelled to Chile in 1988. The thesis offers a theoretical part with a summary of modern Chilean history and the question of ideologies in the Latin American state. There was conservative anticommunism with roots already at the beginning of the 20th century. On the...

EU i nyheterna : En diskursanalys om EU och EU:s anseende i det svenska medieutbudet / EU in the news : a discourse analysis about the EU and EU's reputations in the Swedish media

Norberg, Mari January 2011 (has links)
The purpose of this essay is to analyze the EU discourse in the Swedish media. The questions that the analysis seeks to answer are; what image of EU is portrayed in the Swedish media? To which degree does the EU discourse fulfill media’s “news values”? And what are the potential effects of the discourse on EU’s reputation? After several demarcations, I chose 8 articles form Sweden’s four largest newspapers to base the analysis on.     The theoretical and methodical structure behind this analysis is the theories and practices of Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis. Added to the theoretical structure are also theories about reputation and theories about news values. The method used in the analysis is a modified version of Fairclough’s three-dimensional model of critical discourse analysis. The modifications are modified to suit the questions at issues, at the text dimension of Fairclough’s model the modification are inspired by Fowler’s critical linguistics. The results from the analysis shows EU is portrayed in several ways, partly as “bully” using per-pressure to get its way and partly as a hero that comes and cleans up the European financial mess. In many of the articles EU only plays a supporting role, and rather then being portrayed as part of our political system EU is portrayed as a guiding norm that we should measure up to.   The conclusion is that there is a lack of interest for EU in the Swedish media. News about EU struggle to fulfill two important new values; simplification and human interest. EU is a complex faceless bureaucratic institution with a lack of transparency. Also because of its complex nature it’s very difficult to understand the ongoing work inside EU. The potential effects to EU´s reputation due to medias lack of interest, is that EU becomes vague and unclear. The Swedish media legitimizes the Swedish peoples lack of interest in EU and that leads to a continuing lack of knowledge.
