Muitas cidades discutem qual a destinação adequada para antigos prédios industriais, comerciais e de serviços que no passado tiveram relevância na economia, mas que atualmente, estando abandonados ou sub-utilizados, podem dificultar o desenvolvimento. Em Rio Clam (SP), a presença de antigos imóveis industriais abandonados também desperta a atenção da comunidade, como nos casos das antigas Oficinas da Cia. Paulista de Estradas de Ferro; da Cervejaria Rio Claro (Skol) e da Gurgel Motores, O município também abriga casos de antigos "brownfields" que já foram refuncionalizados, como o Shopping Center Rio Claro, instalado na antiga Tecelagem Matarazzo. Se por um lado há a necessidade de retomar as atividades econômicas nesses imóveis, evitando sua degradação, também é preciso evitar a destruição desses antigos patrimônios, que representam um elo de ligação do cidadão com seu passado, um meio para a preservação da memória do trabalho. A busca pela cidade ideal deve considerar a preservação de sua história, para que o futuro tenha o passado como base. Passado onde estão também incluídos os antigos prédios industriais, "formas" herdadas de várias fases do processo de industrialização e que hoje carecem de novas "funções". / Abstract: The "brownnfields" cases represent a challenge to development. Many cities discuss which is the suitable destination to old industrial, commercial and service buildings that had importance to economy in the past, but nowadays, being abandoned or underuselful, they can grow difficult to development. In Rio Claro (SP), the old industrial abandoned real estate presence also stimulate community's attention, as in the cases of old factories of Cia. Paulista de Estradas de Ferro; Cervejaria Rio Claro (Skol) and Gurgel Motores. In lhe city there is also cases of old "brownfields". These buildings had already been refunctioned, as Shopping Center Rio Claro, installed in Tecelagem Matarazzo. If in one hand, there is the necessity of retaking the economical activity in these real estate, avoiding is degradation, it also is needed to avoid destruction of these old patrimony, which represents a link between citizen and his past, a way to preserve work memory. The search for ideal city should consider its history preservation, so then the future wiIl have the past as base. In past, old industrial buildings are included, "forms" inherited from many phases of industrialization process that nowadays need new "function". / Mestre

Orientador: Renato Bueno Franco / Resumo: Este trabalho tem por objetivo compreender o significado das teses "Sobre o conceito de História" de Walter Benjamin por meio da análise histórica e teórica das diferentes correntes interpretativas que abarcaram o pensamento desse autor à luz da discussão das principais linhas de força contida no conjunto de sua obra. Para tanto, reportar-me-ei aos diversos modelos de interpretação da história, no intuito de explicitar quais suas características gerais e, dessa forma, localizar os principais temas aos quais o pensamento de Benjamin teve de se colocar. Diferentemente de uma tentativa de gênese de seu pensamento, meu intuito é de identificar em que medida a leitura dos acontecimentos humanos proposta por nosso autor contribuiu para salientar os perigos daquilo que nos é vinculado como herança cultural, e como o interesse pelo passado pode produzir conseqüências políticas. Com base em seus principais textos, procurarei delimitar de que maneira sua crítica se direciona à "transmissão da barbárie" e como podemos fortalecer os "opositores do facismo". / Abstract: This work search to conceive the meaning of the theses "On the concept of history" from Walter Benjamin, through an historical and teorical analyses of the differents interpretatives currents which contains the thougth of this autor enlighted by the discussion of the leader motivs contained together in his work. Therefore, I will recover upon severals models of history intepretation, in order to exhibit which are their general characteristcs and, like this, situate the prime subject by which Benjamin's thought should take place. Distinctively of an attempt to settle a genesis of his thought, my intent is to identify how come the lecture of the humans events proposed by our autor has contributed to emphazise the dangers of the cultural legacy that is bounded to us, and how the interest by the past can produce political consequences. Based in his mais texts, I will try to demarcate how he criticizes the state of barbarism that is transmited to us and how we can strengthen the opponents of the facism. / Mestre

Para tal empreitada foram selecionadas as obras mais expressivas dos autores situados entre o período de vigência do antigo Território Federal do Guaporé (1943-56), depois Território Federal de Rondônia (1956-81) até a consolidação do atual Estado de Rondônia. A análise está focada no discurso destes autores e revela suas filiações e os seus pareceres. Tal memória fica aqui compreendida enquanto uma construção produzida por uma elite letrada, constituindo assim aspectos de representação enquanto projetos, de diferentes matizes, e que disputam entre si a hegemonia do discurso. Nesse sentido, as imagens das populações tradicionais aparecem delineadas a partir de conceitos estereotipados e marcados por um viés ideológico: a noção de vazio demográfico, as populações indígenas igualadas à natureza e o bandeirante como herói civilizador. Assim, as reflexões apresentadas neste trabalho, tiveram como base a eleição de um conjunto de narrativas em prosa e poesia, como também as imagens representativas dos símbolos de poder. Finalmente esta trajetória procura atravessar o interior dos enunciados, dialogando internamente com suas contradições e apontando para suas continuidades e recorrências. / Abstract: This research analyses the construction of the State of Rondônia memory by means of the representations portrayed in the some texts of historical narrative and poetry of local writers. To reach that aim, the most representative works were selected from authors who wrote between the periods: 1943-56 (Guaporé Federal Territory), 1956-81 (Rondônia Federal Territory) up to the consolidation of the Rondônia State, after 1981. The analysis focuses these authors' speeches and reveals their political affiliation and places from where they spoke their feelings - such memory is understood as product of highly educated elite which builds up projects of representation aspects, of different kinds, which fight each other the speech control. In this sense, the local images of the traditional populations appear designed from stereotyped misconceptions and ideologically biased: the notion of demographic emptiness, the rainforest populations leveled to nature and the "bandeirante" as a civilizing hero. Thus, the reflections presented in this work, had had as base the election of a set of narratives in prose and poetry, as well as the representative images of the symbols of being able. Finally, this trajectory seeks to go through the inside of enunciation, dialoguing internally with its contradictions and pointing with respect to its continuities and recurrences. / Doutor

Orientador: Alexandre Mate / Banca: Flávio Desgranges / Banca: Carminda Mendes André / Resumo: Através da sua memória e de documentação existente, o autor traça uma trajetória de sua formação como espectador passando pelas diversas fontes que o alimentaram: o circo, o rádio, a música, os livros, o cinema, a televisão com ênfase no teatro, objeto da pesquisa. As livrarias, os cinemas, os teatros e a própria cidade de São Paulo são o pano de fundo para os espetáculos teatrais assistidos no período de 1964 a 2011. O autor faz um recorte, analisando mais detalhadamente os 27 espetáculos teatrais mais significativos de sua vida de espectador. Em tese, essa visão do espectador está isenta dos habituais didatismos de um professor, da alardeada neutralidade do crítico, do rigor analítico requerido aos historiadores e pesquisadores e permite transitar com a reação espontânea, a emoção, recordações que a memória guardou, acontecimentos curiosos ligados ao contexto da apresentação e tão importantes quanto aqueles ocorridos no palco. O estudo é completado com uma análise da presença/ausência do espectador na literatura teatral e com um levantamento das atividades da Casa do Espectador, entidade muito importante para o meio teatral paulistano, surgida em 1960 e desaparecida no início dos anos 1990 / Abstract: The author relyes on his memory and on documents to outline the trajectory that lead to his education as a spectator going by the several sources that nourished him: the circus, the radio, the music, the books, the cinema, the television and mostly the theather, the very object of the research. The bookstores, the theathers and the city of São Paulo itself build the background for the plays seen from 1964 to 2011. The author analyzes in depht the 27 more signficant spectacles of his life as a spectator. In theory, the point of view of the spectator is free of the dictacticism of scholars as well as free of the often mentioned neutrality of the critics and the analytical rigor required from historioagraphers and researchers, and allows his spontaneous reaction on emotions, memories and curious events related to the spectacle itself, as important as the ones that took place on the stage. The study is completed with an analysis of the presence/absence of the spectator in the theatrical literature and the story of Casa do Espectador, a very relevant entity in the theatrical scene in São Paulo, founded in 1960 and closed in 1990 / Mestre

A maior parte dos textos críticos encontra-se publicada em jornais. Primeiramente, esses textos foram localizados e organizados. Depois disso, visando à avaliação da recepção crítica, foram resenhados e analisados. Ao término desta pesquisa constatou-se que a obra de José Geraldo Vieira tem sido vítima de muitos clichês e comentários que se repetem. Apesar disso, a crítica, no geral, apresenta argumentos positivos suficientes para realçar o valor de José Geraldo Vieira no panorama da literatura brasileira. / Abstract: The aim of this work is compounding an organized table of critical texts about the writer José Geraldo Vieira (1897-1977), with the proposal to offer the researcher appropriate material for a more rigorous and comprising analysis of his literary production. The major part of the critical texts is found published at newspaper. At first, these texts were localized and organized. After that, viewing an evaluation of the reviewer's reception about the works by José Geraldo Vieira, they were summarized and analyzed. The analysis shows that, although sometimes the works of José Geraldo Vieira have been a victim of a random appreciations and repeated comments, they were, in general, well accepted by the reviewers. Thus, these reasons are strong enough to underline the value of his work at Brazilian Literature outline. / Mestre

Resumo: A obra de Milton Hatoum, escritor amazonense de ascendência libanesa, caracteriza-se pela recorrente busca identitária de seus narradores que procuram explicações sobre suas origens. Em Relato de um certo Oriente (1989) e Dois irmãos (2000) há, em primeiro plano, o trabalho da memória, que tem como força motriz o esquecimento, transitando entre dois mundos que se mesclam e que se dão a conhecer, no texto, por meio das experiências dos personagens. Esses mundos que se interpenetram, o manauara e o do imigrante, inscrevem um "certo oriente" no ambiente amazônico traçando a história da família libanesa radicada na Manaus imaginária de Hatoum. A trajetória sinuosa da memória percorrida pelos respectivos narradores manauaras, filhos agregados desses imigrantes, procura reestruturar o passado por meio dos relatos das personagens, cujas vozes são emolduradas nas vozes dos narradores. Em face da indeterminação dessas identidades perseguidas, esses sujeitos encontram-se à deriva, experimentando um sentimento de alienação e de exílio interior. Para o estudo dessa trajetória dos narradores na busca identitária, articulam-se os conceitos sobre a memória (H. Bergson; W. Benjamin); o esquecimento (H. Weinrich); a melancolia (Freud); o dialogismo (M Bakhtin); a estrangeiridade (J. Kristeva); o exílio (H. Bhabha; E. Said). / Abstract: The work of Brazilian writer Milton Hatoum, who’s born in Manaus and descendant of Lebanese family, is characterized by recurrent search for origins by the narrators in both novels studied Relato de um certo Oriente (1989) and Dois irmãos (2000). The strongest influence on memory work is the forgetfulness on rebuilding narrators’ childhood on searching their identity. Memory’s work transits between two methaforical worlds concerning the immigrants and the manauara’s life, revealling a "certain Orient" in an Amazonian ambiance that traces a Lebanese family history in the imaginary Manaus of Hatoum. The character’s voices retaking the past are commanded by narrators’ voices who face a sinuous trajectory of the memory. The indetermination of their identity carries the narrators to a felling of alienation and an intimate exile. By studying the narrators’ way on searching their origins, the following concepts are articulated: memory (H. Bergson; W. Benjamin); forgetfulness (H. Weinrich); melancholy (Freud); dialogism (M Bakhtin); foreignism (J. Kristeva); exile (H. Bhabha; E. Dessa forma, esse trabalho será composto por uma introdução bibliográfica e intelectual de Prudente de Moraes, neto, apresentado por meio de alguns de seus amigos; logo após segue o corpo do trabalho, que é uma reprodução de parte dos artigos encontrados. Quanto à organização do trabalho, este contará, de início, com o prefácio introdutório, composto pelos dados biográficos do autor, de maneira mais ampla, em suas características intelectuais de crítico e estudioso da literatura brasileira, seguido do corpus central, ou seja, a reprodução parcial dos artigos encontrados. / Abstract: The master degree project Perfil de Prudente de Moraes, neto, tried to recover part of the articles published by the author in different newspapers. This way, this project will be composed by a biographical and intellectual introduction of Prudente de Moraes, neto, presented through some oh his friends; right after the project itself will follow, wich is a reproduction of a part of the articles found. As for the organization of the project, this will coutain, in its beginning, the introductionary preface, composed by biographical data from the author, on a wider view, about his intelectual characteristics as a critic and studious man of the Brazilian literature, followed by the central "corpus" what means, a partial reproduction of the articles found. / Mestre

Orientador: Maria Aparecida de Moraes Silva / Resumo: Através da reconstrução dos fios partidos da memória, este estudo busca alargar o entendimento das motivações invisíveis que perpassam a emigração dos chamados trabalhadores dekassegui, ao Japão. Mediante o uso da história oral, foram incorporadas à análise sociológica, além das falas dos trabalhadores em idade produtiva, as percepções e representações de duas gerações (issei e nissei) de mulheres idosas de famílias nipo-brasileiras, além do relato de um início entrevistado idoso. As análises dos relatos orais, ordenadas segundo as estações do ano, permitiram conhecer os condicionantes históricos e a imagem mito do retorno oculta-se uma realidade de intensa exploração e desenraizamento. Nesse contexto, a memória e a identidade articulam-se dialeticamente à formulação de um reenzaimento, um projeto alternativo ao caminho proposto pela ordem neoliberal. / Abstract: Through the reconstruction of the broken memory wires, this study searches to enlarge the understanding of the invisible motivation that goes beyond the emigration of the so called dekassegui workers to Japan. By the use of oral history, not only the speech of active workers, but also the perceptions and representations of two generations (issei and nissei) of elderly women from Japanese Brazilian families, apart from the account of a single elderly man who was interviewed, were incorporated to the sociological analysis. The analyses of the oral accounts, ordered according to the season, allowed the historical conditions and the idealized image, that structure the departure of nikkei workers to their ancestors' country. Behind the myth of return hides a rootles reality of intense exploration. In this context, memory and identify work together dialectically to formulate a new project that allows these people to take root, as an alternative to the way proposed by the neoliberal order. / Doutor

Orientador: Luiz Gonzaga Marchezan / Banca: Maria Dolores Aybar-Ramirez / Banca: Elaine Cristina Cintra / Resumo: Nossa pesquisa de Mestrado tem como propósito comparar Perto do Coração Selvagem, primeiro romance publicado de Clarice Lispector, e O tempo redescoberto, o romance que finaliza uma das realizações literárias mais importantes dos últimos tempos, a obra Em busca do tempo perdido, de Marcel Proust. Para promovermos tal comparação baseamonos na presença de temas que, de forma imbricada, perpassam as duas obras, nas formas da epifania, o que nos levou a estender a discussão para a reação das personagens diante do impacto do mundo sensível, o tempo e a memória (forma de rememoração). Acontecimentos aparentemente banais, anódinos, ao serem apreendidos pelos sentidos (audição, paladar, tato, visão, olfato), assumem uma complexidade que, percebida somente por instantes, confere-lhes o caráter de revelação. Tanto o narrador-personagem proustiano quanto Joana, a protagonista de Perto do Coração Selvagem, são arrebatados por esses momentos reveladores, que muitas vezes desencadeiam processos de rememoração. O tempo é um elemento de importância fulcral para os romancistas em questão; procuramos analisá-lo no âmbito da interioridade das personagens, tomada por nuances afetivas, existenciais, estratificada no labirinto da memória dos protagonistas e representada de maneiras diferenciadas. Para aprofundarmos nossa visão acerca da idéia de epifania, nós a associamos à questão da experiência estética, perspectiva que nos possibilitou uma compreensão mais aprofundada das obras referidas. / Abstract: Our research of Master's degree has as purpose to compare Perto do Coração Selvagem, first published novel of Clarice Lispector, and O Tempo redescoberto, the novel that ends one of the most important literary accomplishments in the last times, the work Em busca do tempo perdido concludes, of Marcel Proust. For us to promote such comparison we based on the presence of themes that, in an associated form, exists in the two works, in the forms of the epiphany, what took us to extend the discussion for the characters' reaction before the impact of the sensitive world, the time and the memory (remembrance form). Events seemingly banal, inoffensive, apprehended by the senses (audition, palate, touch, vision, sense of smell), they assume a complexity that, only noticed by instants, it checks them the revelation character. So much the narrator-character proustiano as Joana, the protagonist of the Perto do coração Selvagem, they are rapturous for those developing moments, that a lot of times unchain remembrance processes. The time is an element of central importance for the novelists in subject; we tried to analyze it in the ambit of the characters' mind, taken by nuances affective, existential, stratified in the maze of the protagonists' memory and represented in differentiated ways. For us to deep our vision concerning the epiphany idea, we associated it to the subject of the esthetic experience, perspective that gave to us the possibility to a deepened understanding of the referred works. / Mestre

A principal preocupação estética do autor britânico volta-se para a maneira como seus personagens lêem e interpretam suas histórias de vida e para como eles percebem as forças que conduzem seus destinos e como reescrevem tais detalhes. A estratégia narrativa adotada é a do emprego da memória marcando a percepção a posteriori que caracteriza o relato. O estudo, portanto, aponta a técnica narrativa ligada aos processos psíquicos constituintes da memória, e auxilia na exposição do sofrimento humano, na crítica sutil ao imperialismo e colonialismo do século XX, tema e motivo de seus romances. Dessa forma, o autor enfatiza as técnicas que as pessoas usam para encobrir e às vezes até para suprimir suas emoções e, em particular, a maneira pela qual tais emoções são estimuladas pela memória. O trabalho terá como suporte teórico os estudos freudianos sobre a memória, o estranho e as experiências ocorridas na infância, particularmente considerando a atuação do narrador, o personagem Christopher Banks, como foco central. / Abstract: This study analyses the novel When We Were Orphans, as part of the writer Kazuo Ishiguro's production, focusing the application of the memory in the literary text, as a form of examining the strategies used by the author. The British author's main aesthetical concern is turned to how his characters read and interpret their life story, and to how they apprehend the forces which lead their destiny, and how they write such details. The adopted narrative strategy is one which engages memory, determining the posteriori perception that characterizes the narration. The study, therefore, indicates the narrative technique linked to psychical processes which constitute memory, and help with the exposition of the human anguish; with the subtle criticism to the 20th century's imperialism and colonialism, theme and motif of his novels. For that reason, the author emphasizes the techniques people use to cover, and sometimes even to supply their emotions and, particularly the way from which such emotions are aroused by memory. The paper shall have, as theoretical support, the Freudian studies about memory, the strange and the experience occurred during childhood, especially considering the narrator's performance, the character Christopher Banks., as essential focus. / Mestre
