[pt] O propósito deste trabalho é analisar as características relevantes dos cursos de mestrado em administração e em que grau elas são avaliadas por seus alunos e ex-alunos, com o objetivo de fornecer subsídios para as instituições acadêmicas desenvolverem ou aprimorarem tais cursos. Nesta pesquisa, aplicou-se a teoria de análise conjunta, a fim de se apontar o conjunto de características consideradas relevantes pelos estudantes de cursos de mestrado em administração de empresas. O desenvolvimento da dissertação foi composto de duas etapas: escolha dos atributos e níveis a serem avaliados pelos respondentes e análise dessa avaliação. Para escolher o conjunto de atributos e níveis a serem julgados, foram analisadas as informações existentes na literatura e conduzido um grupo de foco. Em seguida, foi escolhido o conjunto de estímulos a ser submetido aos estudantes de mestrado, desenvolvido com base no projeto ortogonal calculado pelo software estatístico SPSS. Realizou-se, então, a coleta de dados por meio de questionários, os quais foram entregues pessoalmente aos entrevistados ou enviados, em alguns casos, via correio eletrônico. Na última etapa, analisaram-se, com o auxílio do software SPSS, as importâncias relativas dos atributos e utilidades dos níveis propostos na pesquisa de campo, o que propiciou que o objetivo geral de se identificarem as características relevantes para conceito de um curso de mestrado fosse alcançado. / [en] The purpose of this work is to identify the main features of the Master in Business Administration programs and how these programs are evaluated by students and former students, aiming at helping academic institutions develop or improve their Master degree courses in the area. In this research, the conjoint analysis method was used to determine the set of features considered relevant by Master in Business Administration students. The thesis was developed in two stages: choosing the attributes and levels to be evaluated by respondents and analyzing such evaluation. The attributes and levels to be assessed were chosen only after the existing information was analyzed and a focus group was conducted. The set of stimulis to be given to the Master in Business Administration students was then chosen based on the orthogonal project calculated by the statistical software SPSS. The next stage involved data collection using questionnaires, which were personally delivered to the respondents or, in some cases, sent by e- mail. Finally, the statistical software SPSS was used to analyze the relative importance of the attributes and the partial utilities of the levels proposed in the field research, achieving the general goal of identifying the relevant features for the concept of a Master´s degree course.

In this sense, the creation of a new scenario brings relationship transformations between people, their career and the search for continuing development. This research has as its objective identify if any relationship can be observed between Master degree achievements (stricto sensu mode) and the development of competences, verifying how is this connection. On that matter, the intention of the research is to inquire which paper the academic Master degree has developing the competences of the egresses. As for the methodology, the study consists of a descriptive and investigative research. The work is based on the survey of the referring bibliography to the main subject, the question of competences, and the explanation of the universe in which the subject is investigated, the Master degree stricto sensu. The field research was carried through with the Masters for the Mastering in Administration program from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, who had gotten a degree in last the six years. Through research, the personal, academic and professional profile of the egresses was traced, as well collected their perception about how this after-graduation studies had influenced the development of competences. Based on the data raised in the study, it was evidenced that the option for the Master degree is strongly motivated by the seek for more knowledge and for personal accomplishment. Among the competences and knowledge analyzed, the know how to learn and learn to learn was perceived by the egresses as one of the most relevant and the most developed during the course. As for the activities of the course that had collaborated more for this process of development, the experience acquired with the research appeared in promine / Nas últimas décadas o mercado de trabalho vem sofrendo significativas mudanças. Neste sentido, a criação de um novo cenário traz consigo transformações nas relações entre as pessoas, suas carreiras e a busca pelo crescente desenvolvimento. Este trabalho tem como objetivo identificar se existe relação entre o mestrado stricto sensu e o desenvolvimento das competências, verificando qual seria esta relação. Desta forma, o intuito da pesquisa é averiguar qual é o papel do mestrado acadêmico no desenvolvimento das competências dos egressos. No que se refere à metodologia, o estudo consiste em uma pesquisa descritiva e exploratória. O trabalho está baseado no levantamento da bibliografia referente ao tema principal, a questão das competências, e na apresentação do universo no qual o assunto é investigado, a pós-graduação stricto sensu. A pesquisa de campo foi realizada com os mestres pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Administração da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, que obtiveram o título nos últimos seis anos. Através da pesquisa foi traçado o perfil pessoal, acadêmico e profissional dos egressos, assim como coletada a percepção destes sobre o papel do mestrado no desenvolvimento das competências. Pelos dados levantados no estudo, foi constatado que a opção pelo mestrado é fortemente motivada pela busca de mais conhecimento e pela realização pessoal. Das competências e saberes analisados no trabalho, o saber aprender e aprender a aprender foi percebido pelos egressos como um dos mais relevantes e o mais desenvolvido através do mestrado. No que se refere às atividades do curso que mais colaboraram para este processo de desenvolvimento, a experiência adquirida com as pesquisas apareceu em destaque
