Politika,média a moc. / Politics, Mass-media and Power.

Mochanová, Karolína January 2019 (has links)
This thesis concerns itself with the relationship between media and politics and politicians, particularly in those media messages where visual stimuli predominate.First, the author introduces key terms in the field of media and visual culture. The following part of the present paper focuses on two prominent figures of our political scene. These figures are briefly introduced and an attempt is made to analyse their means of visual self-presentation and the effect of this message on the public, namely their voters. The method chosen to carry out this analysis is semiotic analysis, inspired predominantly by Roland Barthes' book Mythologies. The author uses the concept of interpreting an image, denotation, and connotation, and subsequently situates her findings in a broader social context. Semiotic analysis helps to decipher messages used by media to influence voters' perception of politicians.

Newspaper reportsþ analyses about the rural myth of Unhudo da Pedra Branca. Vývoj reprezentace Jiřího Kajínka v česképublicistice v roce 2010 / Representation of Jiri Kajinek in Czech print in 2010

Pošepná, Kateřina January 2012 (has links)
The main concern of the thesis is the ability of the media to construct the image of criminals and it is demonstrated on the case of Jiří Kajínek. Criminality is a special topic most of the population has no personal experience with, and, therefore, they have to rely completely on the information offered by media. Jiří Kajínek is the most famous czech prisoner and, in its practical part, the thesis tries to explore the way the publicistic titles presented his case to public in 2010. Most of the examined titles takes Kajínek's side and does not offer balanced information regarding the case. This partiality is reflected mainly in the way of signification associated with Kajínek, in the framing and in the form of particular articles. The thesis then observes the influence of the Kajínek movie on his media presentment and its development. It focuses at the amount of media space given as well as at the way of the representation itself. Differences in both aspects have been found in particular titles.

Loudová, Barbora January 2020 (has links)
Czechoslovak society underwent a fundamental change in 1989, in which a certain portion of society, previously restricted from official intervention in politics, took crucial part. Even though this part of society (the dissent) was before 1989 restricted from participation in politics, it had been doing so. However, in illegal ways at that time, for which had been the involved often persecuted. This group of dissidents later contributed to the revolutionary changes, which is the source of certain mythology that began to appear in connection with them. During 1990s their influence decreased, and the dissent's political elite was gradually replaced by a new right- wing elite, promising economic reform and rapid transformation. The idealistic conception of politics was replaced by the pragmatic one and completely different and ambitious personalities came to the foreground. The new characters did not come from the background of fight against totalitarianism, yet they quickly gained political skills.
