A ideia de um Estado binacional na Palestina histórica: conceitos, evolução histórica e perspectivas na atualidade / The idea of a binational state in historical Palestine: concepts, historical evolution and perspectives today

Danilo Martins Guiral Bassi 28 March 2016 (has links)
This Masters thesis aims to trace a history of the idea of a bi-national state for Arabs and Jews in historical Palestine. After laying out the specificities of a binational state, it reconstructs the circulation of the binational idea in the period before the creation of the State of Israel in 1948, among progressive Jews and Palestinian Arabs, in the Zionist movement, and among left-wing organizations in Palestine. In a second step, we we analize how the period between the establishment of the State of Israel and the peace process that led to the Oslo Accords, in the 90s, was marked by silence around the binational ideal while all the same laying the foundations for its revival at the turn of the 21st century. Finally, regarding todays Israeli-Palestinian context, we analyze the prospects of revival of binational proposals, focusing on left-wing journalists, a number of more or less marginal participants in institutional politics, some critical intellectuals and academic supporters, and among activists and social movements for human rights.

Národní identita a asimilace na pozadí společenských poměrů Plovdivu (18. - 19. století) / National Identity and Assimilation in Relation to the Social Enviromment in Plovdiv (18th - 19 th century)

Staneva, Boriana January 2016 (has links)
Title: National identity and assimilation in relation to the social environment in Plovdiv (18th - 19th century) Abstract: The dissertation presented here arises from the perception of national identity being a kind of collective identity, which is designated by state (political) as well as non-state (cultural) nation-constituting symbols. I have tried to examine the permanence, stability and objectivity of these symbols in relation to the social environment in Plovdiv during the process of national awakening as part of Bulgarian national movement (18th - 19th century). During this period the central position in Plovdiv's social environment was held by a numerous group of people so-called Graecomen. Graecomen voluntarily renounced their Bulgarian-origin identity and exchanged it for a Greek identity. The origins of Graecomania may be found in the long-term cultural and economical co-existence of the Bulgarians and the Greeks. Since the Middle Ages there was a stable Greek community in Plovdiv, which dominated significantly the social climate. This dominance became the key motivating factor for the spread of Graecomen as Bulgarian burgers tried through the means of a favourable marriage to infiltrate the Greek community and in this way to achieve a higher social status. The highest level of intensity of...

Islám v Tatarstánu v devadesátých letech 20. století / Islam in Tatarstan in the nineties of 20th century

Maršálková, Kristina January 2009 (has links)
Diploma thesis Islam in Tatarstan in the nineties of 20th century presents an analysis of Islam and Muslim community in the Republic of Tatarstan at the end of 20th century. During this period Tatarstan not only gained its statehood, but the Islamic revival started thanks to the restoration of religious freedom. This diploma thesis is divided into five chapters. After the short historical excursus, the Islamic revival and its connection with Tatar national movement are presented. Consequently, the relation between Muslim clerics and politics and also the regime's attitude towards Islam is analyzed. This analysis leads to a conclusion that even though Islam was not a good instrument for electors' mobilization and clerics could not influence the politics, we can consider Islam as being unofficial state religion. Next two chapters focus on Tatar Muslim community. First the development of Muslim community in the nineties is analyzed. The influence of the Middle East charitable funds and Islamic education is investigated in more detail. The fifth chapter emphasizes the world-view of Muslims, their perception of religion, their own ethnicity and politics. Different trends of Islam, which appeared in the nineties, are presented too. The analysis demonstrates that Islam in Tatarstan was an important...

Chodějovský, Jan January 2011 (has links)
Lusatia in the plans of building the new Czechoslovakia. Great expectations and early disillusionment of the Czech Slavists. During the Great War, especially in the last year of the war, a number of representatives of Czech political and cultural life reflected upon an idea of a renewal of the Czech state in a historical borders of the former Czech crown lands. The independence of Czechoslovakia was proclaimed on October 28, 1918, by the Czechoslovak National Council in Prague. Only several years before, an independent Czechoslovakia had been a dream of a small number of intellectuals and politicians. The transformation of the dream into reality was a formidable task. While the creation of Czechoslovakia was based on certain historical precedents, it was, nevertheless, a new country carved out of disparate parts of the old Hapsburg Empire. This study deals with the matter of how Czechoslovak scientists, first of all slavists, intervened in the forming of Czechoslovak political programme. Slavists' role in the communal life of Czechoslovakia has been transforming due to changes that took place in both local and international politics. For a long time before they had no chance to participate at official state politics as there was not a sympathetic for Slavonic cooperation on an international level...

"Na vlastním se lépe hospodaří": Názory na reluici roboty v Čechách na konci doby předbřeznové / "It manages better on its own": The opinions on the abolition of the peasant robot in Bohemia at the end of Vormärz period

Vašík, Miroslav January 2021 (has links)
(in English): The diploma thesis "It manages better on its own": Opinions on the reliance of robots in Bohemia at the end of the pre-March period is devoted to serf duties from the Enlightenment to 1848. Legal grounding in view of several important directions of political and economic development at the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th century. This work analyzes biopolitical, populationist, traditionally conservative and especially liberal attitudes of politicians. And he explains why discussions on other political directions probably could not take place in Austria. It also tries to show the degree of labor duties, which was different in different states of the Austrian monarchy. Most of the work deals with the years 1840-1846. I describe the uprising in Galicia, where serf and ethnic problems were mixed. The sources were mainly the works of Jiří Štaif, Miroslav Hroch, Václav Černý and Dieter Langewiesche, but I also mention a larger number of original sources, period petitions, legal analyzes and newspaper articles. In the end, on the character of František Brauner, I show what development of thought a lawyer with knowledge of documents, social and cultural conditions could have undergone.
