Network Security Report : Penetration Tools for Network Security

Klasson, Daniel, Klasson, Kim, Iourtchenko, Anatoly January 2014 (has links)
This report, will show by demonstration with Network Penetration, how to reveal security holes by using the same methods as an outside attack and carry out attacks against wired and wireless networks when it comes to sniffing user traffic, abuse VLAN, cracking password, WEP, WPA/WPA2, hacking WPS and analysing traffic. The tests was performed at the Halmstad University with lab equipment and at home with own equipment. Using Backtrack 5 R3 which is compatible with Linux, performance of the tests could be done by making use of various tools that comes with Backtrack. The goal of the project was to demonstrate how to reveal security holes by using the same methods as an outside attack. By testing, demonstrate and report the security of wired and wireless network, the achievement of these goals could be done and a greater insight into network security was gained, which gives more experience and knowledge that can be taken to a future professional life. The results show how simple it can be to abuse a network or sniff a password if there is no attention to the safety and the security configurations that can be implemented. In other words, during this project, both learning and demonstration has been done to show how vulnerable individuals, civilians and entrepreneurs are. It is easier than someone can imagine to obtaining unauthorized information that nobody wants to share out.

Metodologia e ferramentas de projeto de redes locais. / Method and tools for local area network project.

Carvalho, Tereza Cristina Melo de Brito 11 March 1996 (has links)
Today, networks are assuming an increasing importance in all kinds of companies, like bureau of services, bank organizations, shopping stores, educational institutions and hospitals, among others. As a consequence, it\'s becoming more important to offer to these companies high quality network designs, that could warranty the return of the investments made. A high quality design should fulfil the company needs, the addition of new services as the information system evolves and be capable of implementation according to the company budget and time constraints. To achieve this goal it is important to count with a powerful local network design methodology and with designers with strong theoretical and practical knowledge. The designer should apply such methodology and the corresponding designing rules to define the most appropriate network technology and equipments. Inside this context, the purpose of this work is to propose a local network design methodology for environments spanning from a few floors of a building comprising a campus and the supporting software tools for its applications. The proposed methodology consists of various phases: collecting all the information concerning the needs and characteristics of the company\'s present computing environment, their future trends and the development of the physical and logical network design. With exception of the logical networks design, that is out of the scope of this work, this methodology specifies the inputs, the procedure and the expected results for each phase. With the purpose of helping the designer during the physical network design phase two software tools are speciufied: structured cabling tool and equipment selection tool. The first one run like a CAD/CAE the electrical installation and the communication infrastructure for the building and campus and todevelop of the structured cabling solution. In order to accomplish these objectives, this tool verifies the designing rules for each action, implements these rules when operating in the automatic mode, and helps the designer in the selection of the most suited distribution components. The second tool implements a driver of the proposed methodology. It allows the designer to specify the sub-networks (workgroups and backbone networks) and helps with the selection of the most suited technology and network equipments for each sub-network. This tool also chooses the set of technologies and network equipments the could be used in each sub-network. It provides these choices based on the designing rules, on a database of technologies and equipments and on the characteristic of the computing environment and the design requirements provide by the designer. The use of the proposed methodology and its supporting tool\'s warranties the targeted quality and precision for any network design, organize its applications and give the necessary information allowing the designer to specify the desired solution.

Duclos, Vincent 06 1900 (has links)
This thesis investigates the emergence of spaces of care in the era of digital globalization. It revolves around several lines of inquiry into the Pan-African e-Network Project (PAN), an eHealth network through which tertiary hospitals in India provide teleconsultation services and continuing medical education to health centres across the African continent. These lines of inquiry lead into a project in constant mutation in order to grasp its ontological versatility, outline its political relevance, assess its therapeutic value. PAN is a colossal, multifaceted enterprise. It involves the daily work of engineers, doctors, and managers who must tend to technical routines, hardware infrastructures, and patient treatments. At once the flagship of a resurgence in Indo-African cooperation and the consequence of India’s eHealth venture, the network is a poster child for neoliberal India, driven by technical and commercial ambitions that seek to position the nation at the heart of global developments. PAN also enacts a digital opening of the clinic, as it reconfigures the spatiality of healthcare access and delivery. A turnkey solution, it displays an insatiable quest for mastery; it is a massive yet largely underutilized infrastructure. PAN embodies an emergent object of political intervention: a prosperous, healthy, connected humanity. This examination of the Pan-African e-Network challenges teleological accounts of eHealth on several fronts. To the romantic conception of a fluid, seamless circulation of expertise and knowledge, it opposes the embeddedness, plasticity and sheer materiality of concrete practices. Whether one speaks of “apparatus” (Foucault), “networks” (Latour), or “spheres” (Sloterdijk), spaces of care have little to do with neutral, homogeneous surfaces, and rely on a multitude of local and immanent forces. PAN obliges us to consider technology and care together, untying the question of the “becoming of the clinic” from both the modern triumphalism of emancipation, and the phenomenological contemplation of an authentic experience of the world. The present challenge is to examine the practices, events, and forms of power that shape the “inner spaces” of eHealth networks, in all their turbulence, splendor, and inadequacies.

Supply network project: a collaborative framework for the structuring of the ship components network of the brazilian shipbuilding industry.

Queiroz, Adriane Angélica Farias Santos Lopes de 10 February 2009 (has links)
The objective of this study was the consideration of a supply network capable of guaranteeing efficiency within the Brazilian Shipbuilding Industry (ICN Indústria de Construção Naval). The study was conducted under the identification and examination of the conditional factors of the structuring of a supply network, constantly considering that the available resources of the industry can promote the competitiveness of the whole, and the nature of this industry: in phases of reorganizing its activities and mobilized by (the) its made-to-order nature. The proposal of the theoretical-conceptual framework of the supply network structure of the Shipbuilding Industry was conceived on the basis of collaborative principles, initially beginning with a general diagnosis of the industry in Brazil, and then moving into the characterization of the component suppliers by methods of conducted surveys. The analyses pointed to the formulation of strategies for the implementation of this model within the analyzed network. Finally, the strengths and weaknesses of its structuring process were pointed in order to generate references for the consolidation of a plain theory for the relationship management among a network in the Shipbuilding Industry or on the concept of applied Supply Chain Management to this nature of industries, serving as strategical options for the companies of this sector.

Teams in virtuellen Unternehmen - Zusammenstellung, Kompetenzen, Technik

Malzahn, Nils, Urspruch, Thekla, Tünte, Markus, Hoppe, H. Ulrich January 2005 (has links)
