Byte av Ärendehanteringssystem : - Förstudie och REST API av kund-databas

Dahlberg, Ted January 2018 (has links)

Krupalija, Amar January 2016 (has links)
DigiExam is an Edtech company with main focus on digital assessment. The company develops a platform that enables schools to minimize administrative overhead for teachers and enables students to use tools to help and improve their writing during an exam. In order to be able to take a test on a computer or tablet, the student needs to have some kind of software installed for digital exams. DigiExam used to have four clients for four operative systems. Two of the clients were based on the same source code while the other two were unique which made implementation and maintenance of features unnecessarily costly and time consuming. To deal with these issues the company decided to develop a cross platform-client which enables the developers to use one base source code for all clients and operative systems. The cross platform client developed in this dissertation proves that it is possible to create an application based on web technology and that uses the operative systems full potential. This dissertation gives an example how a cross platform client can be developed and resulted in client for Mac OSX and Windows that shares the same base source code as the Chromebook and iOS clients.

Server-side design and implementation of a web-based streaming platform / Design och implementation av serversidan för en webbaserad streamingplattform

Rosenqvist, Fredrik January 2015 (has links)
Over the past 10 years online video streaming has seen a tremendous increase in popularity, as it has become a great source of both entertainment and education. This increase in popularity has led to demands for higher quality streams, shorter buffering time and service adaptivity, based on the user’s personal prerequisites. These demands together with a constant increase in Internet usage have posed several challenges for streaming service providers to overcome. Within this master thesis an exploratory research and development project has been conducted. The project’s purpose has been to investigate common approaches, standards and trends related to establishing a multimedia streaming service. Based on the results from these investigations, the purpose has furthermore been to design and implement a proof-of-concept streaming server fulfilling the thesis internship company’s needs and requirements. Research has concluded that there are at least five vital components, which have to be carefully considered in order to establish a successful streaming service. These vital components are; the service system structure, the service application programming interface (API), the service hosting solution, the service data storage solution and finally the actual streaming module. Based on results from conducted investigations of common design approaches for each vital component, decisions for the thesis project implementation have been made. The resulting system has been built using the event-based system structure framework Node.js. A representational state transfer (REST) API has furthermore been implemented for managing client request routing. The resulting system has been implemented on a self-hosted server solution even though this is neither a preferred choice in theory nor common practice. The decision has however been made due to future plans at the thesis internship company of investing in a corporate-wide cloud-based server solution. For the service data storage solution the relation-based database management system MySQL has been implemented. For the final recognized vital component, the streaming module, support for HTTP-based multimedia streams has been implemented. This choice of technique has been made due to the many benefits brought on by using HTTP, such as cost efficiency and bandwidth optimization. The use of HTTP is also currently a trending choice of technique Thesis for Master’s Degree at HIT and LiU within the streaming community due to the recently published standard MPEG-DASH.

Design and Implementation of an IoT-Based Smart Home Security System

Hoque, Mohammad Asadul, Davidson, Chad 01 January 2019 (has links)
Recent advances in smartphones and affordable open-source hardware platforms have enabled the development of low-cost architectures for Internet-of-Things (IoT)-enabled home automation and security systems. These systems usually consist of sensing and actuating layer that is made up of sensors such as passive infrared sensors, also known as motion sensors; temperature sensors; smoke sensors, and web cameras for security surveillance. These sensors, smart electrical appliances, and other IoT devices connect to the Internet through a home gateway. This paper lays out an architecture for a cost-effective smart door sensor that will inform a user through an Android application, of door open events in a house or office environment. The proposed architecture uses an Arduino-compatible Elegoo Mega 2560 microcontroller board along with the Raspberry Pi 2 board for communicating with a web server that implements a RESTful API. Several programming languages are used in the implementation and further applications of the door sensor are discussed as well as some of its shortcomings such as possible interference from other radio frequency devices.

Coop extra service ordering system : Application development in Node.js / Bokningssystem för extratjänster åt Coop : Applikationsutveckling i Node.js

Gustafsson, Filip January 2021 (has links)
The Covid-19 pandemic has affected us in different ways and expose the weaknesses of our ecosystem. Some groups of people are more vulnerable to the virus meaning they have to follow the public health authority recommendations with extra caution. At the start of this project, they recommended keeping distance and avoid a crowded environment which makes everyday living harder, especially for groups more vulnerable to the virus. In this thesis, I aim to solve this issue with a web application that extends Coops home delivery of groceries and makes it possible to order extra services as well. The project resulted in an application that is stable enough to use in production today.

Utveckling av en webbapplikation för bokning av testresurser : Applikationsutveckling i React och Node.js / Development of a web application for booking test resources : Application development in React and Node.js

Al Sabbagh, Madian, Al Sabbagh, Luay January 2023 (has links)
The web application Testpersonbokaren is used by Nordic Medtest to book fake test persons for various actors in healthcare so that they can test and validate their environments without being dependent on real personal data. The purpose of this project is to develop a new version of Testpersonbokaren with new technologies and frameworks as the existing version has several problems and limitations. This was achieved by creating a Node.js server and developing two new web interfaces for Testpersonbokaren, where one is only used by Nordic Medtest and the other is used by Sweden's regions, municipalities and private actors. Both web interfaces are developed with the React framework. The new Testpersonbokaren has a more modern look and more functionality than the old one. Unlike the old version, the new one has good documentation, which makes the further development of the web application easier. The new Testpersonbokaren is ready to be put into operation at Nordic Medtest.

Implementations, simplifications and evaluations around Nfc on Android

Deckmar, Johan January 2012 (has links)
Near field communication (Nfc), a contact-range and short-lived message exchange technology, has in recent years become popular in relation to payment-cards, key-cards and ski-passes. With the release of, in particular, the Google Nexus S, which is capable of reading and writing Nfc tags as well as exchanging messages between devices by touch, the roles of consumers have changed from carriers of passive cards to that of active readers. This publicly available hardware technology, embedded into relatively cheap connected smartphones, creates a new field of possibilities in which a complete and complex Nfc-based system can be developed solely by means of software. In this thesis work, the research is in relation to the field of Nfc, ranging from the physical characteristics of the technology to the design of the Nfc API on the Android platform. Nfc-based apps, library and systems are designed, developed and evaluated in terms of performance. The Android apps which are implemented are WiFi and Bluetooth connectors as well as an Nfc-sensor value visualizer. Additionally, two full systems are developed which consists of an Android app, backend server, database and web or PC-client frontend. These two systems are: a web-based high-performance live statistical visualizer of Nfc sensor values and an Nfc-scan based product endorsement, Like-event, presenting the picture and name of a user endorsing a product on the in-store advertisement displays on top of the ads. The system for scanning, distributing and presenting statistics on sensor-values from a specially crafted NfcV-enabled sensor is evaluated in terms of performance along the chain of events starting at the Nfc tag introduction and being dispatched on the mobile phone and ending with the calculations and plot-generation carried out by the browser connected to the backend via a WebSocket. The evaluations show that in a use-case in which the user holds a tablet in one hand and an Nfc-enabled smartphone in the other, the user would experience a mean-delay of 515 milliseconds between putting the device against an NfcV-sensor and seeing the statistical plot, containing the last 1000 values, updated in the browser on the tablet. Additionally, the user would experience a mean-delay of 74 milliseconds between the values being presented on the mobile device itself until they are presented on the tablet in the case of constant streaming from an NfcV connected sensor. The conclusion is that this delay of 74 milliseconds is sufficiently low for the user to feel that the devices are tightly coupled, making it natural to pay attention to the tablet when scanning sensors. Possible use-cases for this include a technician walking between built-in passive NfcV sensors on the factory floor or a nurse walking between patients wearing bandages with built-in passive health-sensors. Finally, the work is discussed in terms of ethics and social impact as development in the tele-healthcare field continues, and a set of Nfc-based applications are suggested including Nfc-tags for interactive product customization, company car management and app deployment.
