Integration with Outlook Calendar

Nisstany, Saman January 2018 (has links)
This report will be covering further development of the Realtime-Updated Dashboard made by two students for Flex Applications in VT2017. The task now is to integrate the Dashboard with Outlook calendar. A theoretical deepening into the General Data Protection Regulation was made due to recent development in the European Union. This was used to set strict guidelines for design, consent and security of the application.   The application is a back-end service written mostly in C#, however some TypeScript language was used with Angular 2 framework along with LESS and HTML5. The application is developed as a stand-alone project as the Realtime-Updated Dashboard is now live in the system and it would pose a security risk for Flex which was a great opportunity to study and learn more about ASP.NET MVC model along with TypeScript, Angular2, LESS and HTML5. Integrating with Outlook calendar was just the first step, more calendars will be added in time. The main point of the application is to give the Realtime-Updated Dashboard added value and prove/show integration with Outlook calendar was possible.

Abstract: During the last 20 years, several countries have been carrying out structural reforms in the natural gas industry, trying to achieve efficiency and economic rationality with the introduction of competition. The objective of the thesis is to review the Gas Law 11.909/09 in Brazil and present an analytic approach to the development of competition and infrastructure of the Brazilian natural gas industry. According to the market projection carried out in this work, by 2011 there will be a possible surplus of natural gas in the country. The critical revision of the Gas Law shows several positive points and others that need improvements. This analysis and the new approach proposed herein seek to stimulate the development of competition and infrastructure in the Brazilian natural gas industry. It tries to stimulate it through non-discriminatory open access, tariff regulation for the transport activities and information transparency. The government role in this process is also shown, that is mainly regulation and outlook activities, aiming the development of the infra-structure. The main points to achieve a sound legal and regulatory framework are: 1) authorization for transmission activities, with the requirement of the opinion of the government research company EPE; 2) Participative planning; 3) Open access and exclusiveness period to be elaborated in a case by case basis by ANP; 4) Tariff regulation for transmission; 5) Focus on information transparency; 6) Creation of a wholesale market; 7) Granting open access and tariff regulation on the distribution.

Sandström, Einar January 2007 (has links)

Ekonomiska utsikter och utdelningspolitik : En empirisk studie i Sverige / Macroeconomic forecasts and dividend policy : An empirical study in Sweden

Stenberg, Alexander, Medvall, John January 2021 (has links)
Economic outlook provides substantial information about future economic activity, information that could be used to decide whether payout policies will be implementable given future expectations. Dividend policy represents a major commitment from firm decision-makers regarding capital planning. Economic outlook predicts future economic activity, which ultimately interacts with firm’s future operational activities, and in the end, firm’s ability to generate future capital that could be used to fund payouts. This paper empirical examines how economic outlook affects the propensity for firms to pay cash dividends and repurchase shares using public available data from The National Institute of Economic Research in Sweden, financial statement data from Thomson Reuters and repurchase data from Nasdaq. Our results suggest that economic outlooks are positively related to dividend increase.

The mediating effect of resistance to peer influence on identity and future outlook by friendship quality in adolescence

Butelo, Jessica M. 01 January 2016 (has links)
Students experience many developmental changes as they experience adolescence. They begin to examine their identities in relation to others and often question their original values and beliefs that have been guiding their behavior. In fact, this susceptibility to peer influence can lead adolescents to engage in risky behavior rather than consider the future consequences of their actions. Despite the large body of literature that delineates peer influence and its effect on adolescent behavior, researchers have yet to examine the impact of high quality friendships on adolescents’ ability to resist to peer influence, and the following effects that this resistance to peer influence has on the youth’s identity and future consideration. Friendship quality was chosen as a moderating variable in the present study, as resistance to peer influence’s effect on identity and future outlook is believed to depend on whether or not the adolescent is in a high quality friendship. Specifically, the present study aims to answer the following research question: Does friendship quality moderate the effect of resistance to peer influence on identity and future outlook in adolescents after controlling for gender, socioeconomic status, and parental involvement in schooling? Many theories support the hypothesis that resistance to peer influence is associated with identity and future consideration, such as Social Comparison Theory, as well as theories associated with motivation. This study analyzed data collected as part of the NICHD–SECCYD comprehensive longitudinal study. Specifically, the effects of resistance to peer influence on identity and future consideration was analyzed in AMOS 22, using a multiple group path model with friendship quality as a moderator.

Artificial Intelligence and its Implication for Future Jobs : Assessing The Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Adaptation to Artificial Intelligence in Projected Employment Figures in the United States

Juwaheer, Aradhna, Dahlberg Barkholz, Dennis January 2023 (has links)
Artificial intelligence is often believed to have a detrimental effect on employment. However, when reviewing employment forecasts from The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, no information could be found indicating whether they considered the potential impact of artificial intelligence on employment. This thesis aims to examine the relationship between the 2022 employment forecasts and the artificial intelligence exposure measure for occupations developed by Felten, Raj and Seamans (2021) in “Occupational, industry, and geographic exposure to artificial intelligence: A novel dataset and its potential uses” to determine if there is a significant correlation between the two. Using a dataset of 669 observations resulting from matching occupations using their standard occupational classification codes (SOC), a strong correlation was observed. Yet, it remains unclear whether this is due to deliberately accounting for artificial intelligence or any other factors. Nor can it be asserted that this correlation accurately depicts the continuously evolving job market.

Remote Microgrids for Energy Access in Indonesia—Part II: PV Microgrids and a Technology Outlook

Simatupang, Desmon Petrus, Sulaeman, Ilman, Moonen, Niek, Maulana, Rinaldi, Baharuddin, Safitri, Suryani, Amalia, Popovic, Jelena, Leferink, Frank 04 May 2023 (has links)
This paper is the companion paper of Remote Microgrids for Energy Access in Indonesia “Part I: scaling and sustainability challenges and a technology outlook”. This part II investigates the issues of photovoltaic (PV) systems with respect to the planning, design, and operation, and maintenance phases in microgrids in Indonesia. The technology outlooks are also included as PV has an important role in providing electricity in the underdeveloped, isolated, and border areas. The data in this paper are from PV microgrids located in Maluku and North Maluku, which are two provinces where there is barely any grid connection available and thus very dependent on remote microgrids. The data are obtained from interviews with Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) and NZMATES, which are an Indonesian utility company and a program for supporting role for the PV systems in Maluku funded by New Zealand respectively. Common issues with respect to reliability and sustainability are identified based on the provided data. Advanced technologies to increase reliability and sustainability are also presented in this paper as a technology outlook. Among these solutions are online monitoring systems, PV and battery lifetime estimation, load forecasting strategies, and PV inverters technology.

Optimerad schemaläggning av mötesbokningar

Andersson, Viktor January 2020 (has links)
Communication is a foundation pillar for all businesses and companies where meetings is one of the primary ways to converse and take collective decisions. The problem which can arise in the procedure of booking a meeting is trying to find a suitable time for every desired participant which could be a tedious and time-consuming task if many participants are to be included in the meeting. This is an issue that has risen at an IT company named Easit which focuses on software solutions for other companies and authorities. The aim of the project is to investigate the employees opinion of this issue, the tools they use today for the process of booking a meeting and finally formulate and implement a building block in the form of a target function which will be used to prevent the problems that are stated in the investigation. The construction is to be performed in the form of a web application created with the programming language Java together with different frameworks and tools to simplify the process of achieving a dynamic application. The application establishes a connection to the Microsoft Outlook API which will then be used to extract data from different calendars based of partly modified data from an employee’s schedule. The target function will be applied to the data extracted dependent on the conditions stated by the user and based on that; a kind of grade will be applied to every possible meeting time found. The target function which is an optimized algorithm is compared to a greedy-algorithm to present the optimized functions potential for the problem specified. If future work is to be done on the project, the main focus should lie on formulating additional constraints and parameters which can widen the optimized algorithm flexibility and depth. The result for this project is a foundation for optimizing schedules depending on multiple calendars together with potential for future work.
