Framtagning och implementering av arbetssätt för utveckling av kostnadseffektiva reservdelar / Development and implementation of an method for cost-efficient spare parts

Mikael, Olsson January 2018 (has links)

Self-relevant familiarity effects on object recognition: effects of context, location and object's size

Unknown Date (has links)
Recent research in visual object recognition has shown that context can facilitate object recognition. This study assessed the effect of self-relevant familiarity of context in object recognition. Participants performed a task in which they had to recognize degraded objects shown under varying levels of contextual information. The level of degradation at which they could successfully recognize the target object was used as a measure of performance. There were five contextual conditions: (1) no context, (2) context, (3) context and size, (4) context and location, (5) context, size and location. Within each contextual condition, we compared the performance of "Expert" participants who viewed objects in the context of their own house and "Novice" participants who viewed those particular settings for the first time. Ratings were performed to assess each object's consistency, frequency, position consistency, typicality and shape distinctiveness. Object's size was the only contextual info rmation that did not affect performance. Contextual information significantly reduced the amount of bottom-up visual information needed for object identification for both experts and novices. An interaction (Contextual Information x Level of Familiarity) was observed. Expert participants' performance improved significantly more than novice participants' performance by the presence of contextual information. Location information affected the performance of expert participants, only when objects that occupied stable positions were considered. Both expert and novice participants performed better with objects that rated high in typicality and shape distinctiveness. Object's consistency, frequency and position consistency did not seem to affect expert participants' performance but did affect novice participants' performance. / A regression analysis model that included Level of Familiarity, Contextual Information Level, Shape and Typical performance. Our results are in accordance with the priming model of visual object recognition. We concluded that a self-relevant context has its own consistency rules and that it affects visual object recognition by narrowing down the number of expectations and the search space significantly more than a non-self-relevant context does. Keywords: visual object recognition, self-relevant familiarity, location, size, probability. / by Evangelie Daskagianni. / Thesis (Ph.D.)--Florida Atlantic University, 2011. / Includes bibliography. / Electronic reproduction. This theme is very relevant to the academic means due to the little national research and literature about it. The main goal of this research is analyzing the use of the inventory management of spare parts hybrid model in a company in the steel field. In order to do that, it was carried out a critical review of the literature available, reviewing the fundamental concepts of the inventory management, such as stock techniques and approaches (Economical Order Quantity, Reorder Point, ABC, Just-in-Time and MRP), as well as the calculations needed to reorder the stocks, in addition to other specific issues and main indicators in the spare parts management. The methodology adopted was the field research, which allowed a major deepening into the issues of the research. The company studied was selected due to the importance of its inventory management techniques related to its maintenance activities in the company s field of work. Presented the productive flow and the supply of the company, detailing the processes related to the inventory management of spare parts, including the functioning of the computing systems, as well as the calculi that support the activities, and the analysis of the research results. In the critical analysis of the results, it was made a confrontation with the theories presented and improvements were suggested in the model of the strategic management of the company, with the goal of reducing the values in stock and improving the users service.

Egnér, Emma January 2006 (has links)

The purpose of this paper was to analyse “Identity- about trademarks, signs and symbols”. The project was a co-operation between the National museum of Art and Stockholm School of Economics in the spring of 2002, which consisted of an exhibition, a book and a series of seminars. The goal was to illustrate how the trademark had developed through history, which role it has in the modern society and how the trademark serves as a creator of identities. The project, mostly the exhibition, was exposed to criticism, which was directed towards the sponsorship deals between The National Museum of Art and five companies.

Duality formula for the bridges of a Brownian diffusion : application to gradient drifts

Roelly, Sylvie, Thieullen, Michèle January 2005 (has links)
In this paper, we consider families of time Markov fields (or reciprocal classes) which have the same bridges as a Brownian diffusion. We characterize each class as the set of solutions of an integration by parts formula on the space of continuous paths C[0; 1]; R-d) Our techniques provide a characterization of gradient diffusions by a duality formula and, in case of reversibility, a generalization of a result of Kolmogorov.

On Stability and Monotonicity Requirements of Finite Difference Approximations of Stochastic Conservation Laws with Random Viscosity

Pettersson, Per, Doostan, Alireza, Nordström, Jan January 2013 (has links)
The stochastic Galerkin and collocation methods are used to solve an advection-diusion equation with uncertain and spatially varying viscosity. We investigate well-posedness, monotonicity and stability for the extended system resulting from the Galerkin projection of the advection-diusion equation onto the stochastic basis functions. High-order summationby- parts operators and weak imposition of boundary conditions are used to prove stability of the semi-discrete system. It is essential that the eigenvalues of the resulting viscosity matrix of the stochastic Galerkin system are positive and we investigate conditions for this to hold. When the viscosity matrix is diagonalizable, stochastic Galerkin and stochastic collocation are similar in terms of computational cost, and for some cases the accuracy is higher for stochastic Galerkin provided that monotonicity requirements are met. We also investigate the total spatial operator of the semi-discretized system and its impact on the convergence to steadystate
