A presente pesquisa configura-se como um acompanhamento reflexivo da produção em arte que desenvolvo atualmente. Seu objeto de estudo corresponde a uma etapa do meu processo de trabalho em arte compreendida entre 2002 e 2005. Esta dissertação aborda questões entendidas como desdobramentos dos procedimentos e experiências realizadas no decorrer do meu processo de trabalho em arte. A fotografia é a linguagem predominante em minha produção artística, e atua como meio e assunto no corpo dos trabalhos. Nos trabalhos realizados nesse período foram observadas questões relativas ao olhar que constrói paisagens, intermediado pelo dispositivo fotográfico. A fotografia parece atuar no processo artístico como dispositivo que interroga a si mesma, mas também como dispositivo do olhar que investiga e/ou produz paisagens. / The present study consists of a reflexive follow-up of the art production I have developed lately. Its object of study corresponds to one of the steps of my work process as an artist, between the years of 2002 and 2005. This dissertation approaches issues understood as unfoldings of procedures and experiments carried out during my work of art process. Photography is the predominant language in my artistic production, and it acts both as a means and as a subject in the body of my work. In the works carried out in this period, issues related to the look that builds landscapes intermmediated by photographical devices were observed. Photography seems to act in the artistical process as a device that investigates itself and also as a kind of looking device which investigates and/or produces landscapes.

Pesquisa de artes visuais que trata do funcionamento da representação de uma cena comum quando modificados seus limites de referência habituais. Para esta investigação são utilizadas a paisagem como fonte de imagens e a fotografia como meio técnico. Aborda a construção da paisagem como gênero e as modulações do meio fotográfico. Tem como imagens resultantes, fotografias do céu diurno sem nuvens e, por isso, trata da cor azul e de alguns aspectos dos planos monocromáticos na arte. / Visual arts research about the way the representation of an usual scene operates when its habitual referential limits are modified. For this investigation the source of images is the landscape and the technical medium is photography. The research approaches the construction of the landscape as a genre and the photographic medium modulations. With photographies of cloudless sky in daytime as resulting images, it also examines the blue color and some aspects of the monocromatic surfaces in visual arts.

Esta pesquisa apresenta uma investigação sobre a série de xilogravuras de minha autoria, intitulada Brumas, realizada entre 2009 e 2011. Parte das relações entre fotografia e gravura para averiguar como os procedimentos de marcar superfícies e transferir imagens trazem problematizações conceituais para a produção. São articuladas relações entre as linguagens adotadas, através da maneira como elas incitam a presença de um outro. O uso da paisagem se constituiu como fio condutor entre os trabalhos, nos quais procurou-se apontar um estado de suspensão decorrente do velar e revelar imagens. Por fim, para a verificação da estrutura da produção foram identificadas considerações sobre as relações que envolvem tempo e memória durante o processo de criação. / This research project investigates my print series Brumas produced between 2009 and 2011. Based on the relationships between photography and printmaking, it investigates how procedures of marking surfaces and transferring images also involve conceptual issues for production. The relationships between these languages are addressed through the way in which they instigate the presence of an other. The common thread of these works is the use of landscape, which seeks to indicate a state of suspension arising out of concealment and revelation of images. The structure of production was verified by identifying considerations about relationships which involve time and memory during the creative process.

A presente pesquisa, intitulada Meia paisagem e meia: algumas considerações sobre o semivisível, é realizada na área de Poéticas Visuais e busca desenvolver um pensamento reflexivo entrecruzado a uma prática artística pessoal. Para tanto, o texto tece considerações acerca da produção de fotografias de paisagens que são parcialmente obstruídas por excessiva luz ou por uma névoa escura que paira sobre elas. As fotografias podem também apresentar certa ausência de nitidez, que se traduz em uma dificuldade de discernimento de contornos, contrastes e limites entre objetos. Estas questões são investigadas a partir da percepção da paisagem, de suas concepções, e de como é administrado o visível nas fotografias realizadas, ou seja, como as intervenções sobre estas interferem no que é visto. Frente a isto, procura-se analisar as noções de visibilidade e não-visibilidade, recorrendo-se, nestes casos, ao conceito de semi-visível. Este conceito é empregado para designar o jogo existente entre o que se pode ver e reconhecer e uma parte que interrompe o acesso ao que seria reconhecível nas referidas fotografias. / This study, entitled, Landscape medium and medium: considerations about the semi-visible, is conducted in the field of Visual Poetics and strives to undertake a reflective analysis interwoven with a personal artistic practice. To do so, the text develops considerations about the production of photographs of landscapes that are partially obstructed by excessive light or by a dark mist that hovers over them. The photographs may also have a certain absence of sharpness, which creates a difficulty in discerning shapes, contrasts and limits between objects. These issues are investigated from the perception of landscape and its concepts, and of how the visible is administered in the photographs taken, or that is, how the interventions about them interfere in what is seen. Thus, it sought to analyze the notions of visibility and non-visibility, turning in these cases to the concept of the semi-visible. This concept is employed to designate the play between what can be seen and recognized and an element hat interrupts the access to that which is recognizable in the photographs.

A presente pesquisa problematiza a noção de paisagem na arte contemporânea a partir da fotografia. Para tanto, analisa trabalhos fotográficos de três artistas: Efêmera Paisagem, do paraense Alberto Bitar, West Solent Coastline Rhythm, do inglês radicado no Brasil Nick Rands, e A Road Divided, do americano Todd Hido. Nas obras em questão, o deslocamento é interpretado como parte fundamental do processo criativo e modo particular de vivenciar a paisagem, contribuindo para a elaboração de uma noção de paisagem como “passagem”, a partir de Nelson Brissac e Walter Benjamin. / The present research problematizes the notion of contemporary landscape in photography. It does so by analyzing three photographic works by three artists: Efêmera Paisagem, by the Brazilian Alberto Bitar, West Solent Coastline Rhythm, by the Englishman Nick Rands, and A Road Divided, by the American Todd Hido. In these works, moving about is treated as a fundamental part of the creative process and as a particular mode of experiencing landscape, contributing to the formulation of a notion of landscape as “passage”, as from Nelson Brissac and Walter Benjamin.
