Challenges of PayPal

Herfors, David January 2017 (has links)
PayPal has faced many different challenges over the years. In the beginning of their journey the biggest challenge of PayPal was the overall ignorance to prevent fraudulent activities and to provide high safety systems. By solving this, PayPal has changed and improved the opportunities of secure online purchases. During couple of years new mobile payment services have developed around the world. They are quick, safe and simple. Especially in the market of peer-to-peer PayPal will meet more competition in the future. Another big challenge of PayPal will be if more online retailers follow Amazon.com´s example and start using their own payment options and by this isolate PayPal as a payment option.

PayPal options for online purchases

Herfors, David January 2017 (has links)
PayPal is the leader in the field of online payment platform. Their ability to prevent fraudulent activities and PayPal´s high safety is the main reason for its success. PayPal is mostly used in costumer to costumer market but their business market users are also rising. Users are secured with a buy and sell insurance when they use PayPal services. If someone has purchased something online that then are not delivered, or that deviates markedly from the seller's description, PayPal can reimburse the full amount of the goods. Other services such as transferring money between friends are also possible. PayPal´s buy and sell insurance is what online purchasers’ value the most when they are shopping online and PayPal is at the forefront of this. If this type of insurances that PayPal provides would not exist people would purchase online less than they do today. PayPal has revolutionized and ameliorate the entire online purchase market for everyone with their safe payment platform.

Utveckling av hotspotsystem / Hotspot system development

Baktirovic, Adnan January 2008 (has links)
This graduation work was done as a assignment from Fiber Optic City company based in Hudiksvall Sweden. Developing an Enterprise Application : A case study / Utveckling av en företagsapplikation : En fallstudie

Bogdanovic, Milos, Huduti, Semir January 2014 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to inspect and identify available technologies and services in order to develop a prototype web application, based on acrowd funding idea, for a startup company. The prototype is going to be used for attracting investments, for further development, and it implements essential functionality such as social login, and a user interface focused on statistics and a payment service. The project was conducted in three main areas, a research phase, a development phase and a documentation phase. All the choices that have been made during the project have been considered with other possible solutions at the research phase by investigating the advantages and disadvantages of the solutions. In conclusion, the thesis examines the web application prototype as a final result, evaluates design decisions and solution choices made in there search phase and recommends possible extension routes of the system for further application development. The thesis hopes to offer useful information and a good starting point for students that are considering developing an application based on a crowd funding model or an Enterprise application using similar technologies.

Comparative Study of Mobile Payment Apps: Google Pay and PayPal using Nielsen’s Usability Heuristics

Pachabotla, Lakshmi Srinidh, Konka, Cherishma January 2022 (has links)
Mobile banking is a feature bringing customer transactions to the doorstep of mobile users by sitting at home. As the demand for mobile payment applications has increased, numerous payment applications are developed throughout the world. Every payment gateway must have certain customer acceptable conditions, usability is one such condition wherein every mobile payment application must fulfill the condition of user friendly with easily understandable features to the customer. Usability is guided by certain well-defined principles, for the optimum benefit of the user. Many researchers have worked on mobile payment applications but there are limited studies on usability comparison of payment gateways. Hence, an attempt is made in the present study to understand the two applications in two different socio-cultural contexts of Indian and Swedish societies, viz., Google Pay and PayPal respectively, on usability principles. The present study is designed with the objectives to analyze and compare satisfaction on Nielsen’s heuristic principles of PayPal and Google Pay payment users, and to the understanding association between satisfaction on Nielsen’s heuristic principles and various independent variables. A survey questionnaire, called “Personal Attitude Inventory for Measurement of satisfaction on Heuristic Principles” was developed to measure the satisfaction of users on heuristic principles of Nielsen of PayPal and Google Pay users. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire are established. The questionnaire is administered to 36 subjects, 18 subjects who are using Google Pay are drawn from India, and the other 18 subjects, using PayPal, are drawn from Sweden. Student t-tests and chi-squared tests are used to analyze the data. Significant differences are not found between PayPal and Google Pay users on the overall heuristic principles of Nielsen, and also on each of the 10 heuristic principles of Nielsen. It is inferred that both PayPal and Google Pay users are comparable on all heuristic principles. Majority of the users of these payment gateways have more satisfaction on all 10 heuristic principles. Results of the study further revealed no association between socio-demographic independent variables like age, gender, and different types of users of PayPal and Google Pay and satisfaction on heuristic principles. These two payment gateways have more or less equivalent features, facilitating similar perceptions and satisfaction levels on heuristic usability principles of Swedish and Indian samples. Several views are put forth for further research.
