Utvärdering av IMU-sensorers precision vid mätning av handledens vinkelhastigheter : Jämförande studie med ett optiskt spårningssystem / Evaluation of the Precision of IMU-sensors Measuring Wrist Angular Velocity : Comparative study with Optical Motion TrackingWingqvist, Jenny, Lantz, Josephine January 2019 (has links)
Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are increasingly frequent amongst workers and there is a clear connection between work injuries and wrist angular velocities. One of the biggest issues therefore is the currently limited availability of means to measure these angular velocities. The aim of this study is to validate the usability of the IMU sensors to measure angular velocities. This is done by comparing the data from the IMU:s with the data obtained with the optical motion tracking system (OTS), which is considered gold standard within this field of studies. An experiment consisting of eight exercises was conducted: three standard movements (flexion and rotation in the pace 40, 90 and 140 repetitions per minute) and four simulated practical work tasks (painting, folding paper, computer exercise and using a hairdryer). The limits of agreement for the standard movements (10 subjects) were -31,8 degrees/s and 34,2 degrees/s, whereas for the simulated practical work tasks they were -35,1 degrees/s and 28,2 degrees/s. The lowest mean value of the root mean square deviation (RMSD) value was 15,7 degrees/s which represents the 40 BPM task whilst the highest mean value was 93,9 degrees/s which correspond to the painting task. The mean value of the correlation coefficients between the IMU:s and the OTS ranged between 0,97 and 0,42 and the correlation coefficient between the subjects 50:th percentiles of the angular velocity, was 0,95 for the standard movements whilst for the practical work tasks it was 0,96. The mean value of the absolute difference between the sensors and the OTS was given in percentiles (10th, 50th and 90th). The largest range within the 50th percentile occurred during the 140 BPM task (18,3 ± 24,6) and the smallest range during the 40 BPM task (3,5 ± 4,7). Although the measured angular velocities vary to a certain extent between the two methods, we conclude that the IMU sensors present the potential to work as measuring units for wrist angular velocities and with further development the current differences can be minimized.

Long-Term Ambient Noise Statistics in the Gulf of MexicoSnyder, Mark Alan 15 December 2007 (has links)
Long-term omni-directional ambient noise was collected at several sites in the Gulf of Mexico during 2004 and 2005. The Naval Oceanographic Office deployed bottom moored Environmental Acoustic Recording System (EARS) buoys approximately 159 nautical miles south of Panama City, Florida, in water depths of 3200 meters. The hydrophone of each buoy was 265 meters above the bottom. The data duration ranged from 10-14 months. The buoys were located near a major shipping lane, with an estimated 1.5 to 4.5 ships per day passing nearby. The data were sampled at 2500 Hz and have a bandwidth of 10-1000 Hz. Data are processed in eight 1/3-octave frequency bands, centered from 25 to 950 Hz, and monthly values of the following statistical quantities are computed from the resulting eight time series of noise spectral level: mean, median, standard deviation, skewness, kurtosis and coherence time. Four hurricanes were recorded during the summer of 2004 and they have a major impact on all of the noise statistics. Noise levels at higher frequencies (400-950 Hz) peak during extremely windy months (summer hurricanes and winter storms). Standard deviation is least in the region 100-200 Hz but increases at higher frequencies, especially during periods of high wind variability (summer hurricanes). Skewness is positive from 25-400 Hz and negative from 630-950 Hz. Skewness and kurtosis are greatest near 100 Hz. Coherence time is low in shipping bands and high in weather bands, and it peaks during hurricanes. The noise coherence is also analyzed. The 14-month time series in each 1/3- octave band is highly correlated with other 1/3-octave band time series ranging from 2 octaves below to 2 octaves above the band's center frequency. Spatial coherence between hydrophones is also analyzed for hydrophone separations of 2.29, 2.56 and 4.84 km over a 10-month period. The noise field is highly coherent out to the maximum distance studied, 4.84 km. Additionally, fluctuations of each time series are analyzed to determine time scales of greatest variability. The 14-month data show clearly that variability occurs primarily over three time scales: 7-22 hours (shipping-related), 56-282 hours (2-12 days, weather-related) and over an 8-12 month period.

2-parameter Generalized exponential distribution ( distribution type, probability density function etc.) and we also mention basic characteristics of the distribution.
Basic definitions and theorems about point estimation and Bayes estimation are reported.
Furthermore, we discource on the analysis of the model and basic properties of the Generalized exponential distribution. Special themes, such as survival functions, Fisher information, order statistics, sum distribution and production of random numbers are analyzed in the frame of the Generalized exponential distribution.
Moreover, we analyze and apply point estimation methods (maximum likelihood, method of moments, percentile estimation, least (and weighted least) squares, method of L-moments) in order to estimate parameters of the distribution. Performance of the estimators for different estimation methods is also analyzed.
Next, bayesian estimation of the parameters (under squared error loss function and LINEX loss function) is coming up for discussion. We also analyze the performance of the estimators and compare them to the maximum likelihood estimators.
Finally, we present approximation of an actuarial table via Generalized exponential distribution.

Previous issue date: 2008-02-12 / Facing the possible global climate change already observed, this study
aimed to identify the temporal trends of climate indices derived from the minimum
and maximum temperatures for the Rio Grande do Sul.Daily data of minimum and
maximum temperatures of 13 meteorological stations were used among 1961 and
2005.These data were organized in a seasonal way and later they were determined
the climatic indexes. The indexes were defined for the seasonal averages, minimum
absolute,maximum absolute,four percentílicas class (10%,35%,65%and 90%),
waves of cold and of heat, for the maximum and minimum temperatures. They were
appraised individually the significance (test t)of the coefficients of correlation of the
indexes of the temperatures in the time. Finally, the values of t were contained in
areas his/her homogeneous second significance. To generate the grouping the
technique it was applied K means using as grouping criteria distances her quadratic.
The results showed that the most significant variations happened in the minimum
temperatures, which increased expressively in Extreme North,Northwest and
Southeast of the State, possibly associate to the adding of steam of water in the
atmosphere. The waves of cold of the minimum temperature increased in most of the
State, while, the one of the maximum temperature reduced, except in the winter.
Already the heat waves of the minimum and maximum temperatures increased
significantly in Extreme North and Extreme East.Groupings of the values of the test t showed two groups with positive and significant variations formed by Iraí and Pelotas, and the other by Encruzilhada do Sul and Torres. Bom Jesus was only in the group with a range of significant reduction. The other meteorological station were classified as a group significant.
a distância quadrática.
mínimas e máximas aumentaram significativamente no Extremo Norte e Extremo
Leste.
Encruzilhada do Sul e Torres.
