First-Person Narration in Edgar Allan Poe's Tales

Bost, Wallace Richard 01 1900 (has links)
For the purpose of this study, Poe's tales were read and considered carefully in chronological order, the idea being to discover growth and development. Poe's literary career was relatively brief (1832-1849), and there are no dramatic or definite breaks or periods. Though his production shows growth in sophistication and artistry, it has been deemed more instructive to group Poets first-person narrators according to the part they play in the story, that is, (1) main actor or protagonist, (2) minor character, (3) observers and (4) combinations of the foregoing three. An attempt will be made to note both variation and pattern, and hence artistic skill, in Poe Is handling of each particular type of narrator.

Zaměstnávání osob se zdravotním postižením / Employment of persons with a health handicap

Toldi, Robert January 2015 (has links)
This Master's Thesis deals with the legal form of employment of persons with disabilities. This group of people is disadvantaged on the labor market due to their disabilities and thus entitled to special protection within the labour law relations. Their integration on the labour market is supported by the state through many legal tools that are used for both positive and negative employers' motivation. The thesis is divided into four separate chapters according to the areas I am dealing with. The introduction is followed by the first chapter where I define the basic terminology. I focus on the term of employment and its dissimilarities from other work forms. It continues with the definition of a person with a disabilty according to the Employment Act which is, for better understanding, presented in the relevant historical context. At the end of this chapter I also mention other laws defining a person with a disability for their own purposes within the Czech legal system. The second and third chapter are dedicated to the international and European legal regulations on the employment of persons with disabilities. These chapters form a linking part between the first and the fourth chapter because they contain the definitions related to persons with disabilities along with the corresponding legislation...

L'amour à l'âge de l'individualisme / Love in the age of individualism

Sabolo, Fabrice 27 March 2013 (has links)
Love in the age of individualism - [Summary by Reverso] The relation of love lived within the couple and within the conjugality knew, under the development of the individualism, the deep changes. The individualism, the way of being to the world and to relate to the others, so led(inferred) new manners to live love. By leaving of a precise context - our rising millennium-, this thesis(theory) tries hard to clear(release) some of the big philosophic stakes affecting(touching) the affairs today, to propose then a detailed analysis of love and its report(relationship) to the person, and try there to answer questions that arise from now on.

Právní postavení oběti domácího násilí / Legal status of a victim of domestic violence

Kasperová, Jana January 2012 (has links)
The topic of my thesis is Legal Status of a Victim of Domestic Violence. It is devoted to domestic violence as a contemporary phenomenon and to the legal status of its victim. The purpose of the thesis is to analyse relevant Czech legislation and compare it with the real needs of a victim of such treatment. It attempts to give to the reader a comprehensive overview of this topic and also to suggest some amends aiming at better protection of the victim of domestic violence. The thesis consists of five chapters each of them dealing with different aspects of domestic violence and position of its victim. Chapter one is called The concept of a domestic violence: explanation and is subdivided into five parts. The first part deals with the definition of the concept and its elements. Beran, Vratislav January 2013 (has links)
Tax income of natural persons from paid employment and emoluments The thesis deals with natural persons` income tax from paid employment and benefits. The paper is divided into seven chapters, which are also further subdivided. In the fourth chapter then describes the procedure for determining the amount and collection of the tax on personal income from employment and fringe benefits. The sixth chapter deals with the issue of natural persons` income tax from paid employment and fringe benefits tax non-residents arising from sources in the Czech Republic and of the natural persons` income tax from employment...

Právně - teoretická analýza omezení způsobilosti k právnímu jednání soudem / Legal and theoretical analysis of the limitation of legal capacity by court

Lukáč, Roman January 2013 (has links)
1 Summary The thesis is focused on a specific area of the private law and concerns with questions of legal capacity of natural persons, specifically with the legal conception of acquiring and restricting legal capacity. The main attention is dedicated to task of civil courts in cases of reduction capacity. The first chapter deals with the basic legal terms crucial for this issue - person, legal personality and legal capacity and their mutual relations. On the grounds of interpretation of article 5 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms, we can say, that in our legal order everyone is a person in legal meaning of the word. It means that everyone has a legal personality as an attribute of person and cannot be deprived of it. Legal personality means to be capable of having legal rights and duties and it is a prerequisite to legal capacity, which determines the ability of person to amend (enter into, transfer, etc.) her rights and duties. The thesis shows that on the constitutional level the legal personality and the capacity are two sides of the same coin, while for the private law the separation of these two attributes is typical. The reason for it is based on fact, that while the legal personality arises purely from the nature of a person, the capacity depends on a physical maturity. This is also...

Fika Living : A sharing multifunctional furniture for single person households

Chen, Danyang January 2016 (has links)
The start point of this project is the research of single person household. According to a presentation from the Swedish government, in Sweden, the family structure is changing as time goes by. After 40 years, there will be more than 40% of household are single person households. In addition, The project aims to create a sharing furniture, which used in living room, for young single person households. By using this furniture, they can enjoy the time being alone at home and also enjoy the leisure time with others, for example, through the Swedish social phenomena - fika. The delineation of study and research of my project is furniture design towards single person households and fika. The theories I applied include sustainability, life cycle, human needs, and design methodologies. Sustainable design put sustainable development theory into the design process, let the ecological environment and economic development connected as an the reciprocal causation. It lead to the use of energy resources effectively, and reduce the environmental pollution to the lower degree. To achieve sustainable design theory, each steps within product life cycle need to be considered in a sustainable development way. Sustainable design principles not only refer to the design process, also stressed in engineering process, the production process, the sales process, the use process, the storage process, the maintenance/repair process and retirement process, to reduce resource consumption, to build a new production and consumption oriented concepts to achieve sustainable design. The main practical methodology within the entire project and process is participatory design. Participatory design encourages all the users to directly design by using the simple tools, then do creative jobs by themselves and make own improvements during the process of practice. Furthermore, the participatory design can promote the users to realize the true value of designers, and finally they can also enjoy the conveniences which are brought by these designs.

[en] ABOUT A STUDY OF THE CONCEPTION OF LIFE IN THE CONTEMPORARY DAYS AND ITS THEOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: HAVING AS REFERENTIAL THE RESPECT FOR THE LIFE FROM THE POOR PERSON. / [pt] O RESPEITO PELA VIDA A PARTIR DO POBRE: UM ESTUDO DA CONCEPÇÃO DE VIDA NA CONTEMPORANEIDADE E SUA RELEVÂNCIA TEOLÓGICA

GEAN CARLOS DOS SANTOS 02 July 2007 (has links)
[en] The present research is about a study of the conception of life in the contemporary days and its theological relevance, having as referential the respect for the life from the poor person. Our research appeared of the ascertainment of the emergency of a new civilization paradigm, capable to rescue the dimensions of the human life and the cosmos, especially of the living beings more weakened and threatened. Opening is necessary for the new questions and the search of answers to the great challenges of our time, from the Christian humanism, participating actively of the cultural debate where the society of the present and the future configures itself. From there, therefore, the importance to search concerning ethics of the life, that implies respect to the new times, necessary and possible, that can introduce the duty where everything is to be able, is an urgent challenge. This contemporary challenge demands to be intent and to be perspicacious to apprehend the necessity to elaborate a theology capable to surpass anthrop and the androcentrism, understanding the human person as being inter and retro- related and responsible for the generations that are for coming. The central idea of our research emerges of the necessity to focus the scientific production and the consequent generation of knowledge in organic way and transdisciplinary, taking account of the Teaching of the Mastership and the truths of the Christian faith. Thus, our research intends pro-actively to contribute so that the option for the poor persons, the promotion of the justice, the defense of the life and of the human rights and the ecology as common house of the humanity are the basic reference of the social interest of the human action in the world. Methodologically we will first look for to assimilate the contemporary understanding of the life, by means of sciences of the life and the new cosmology. Two authors will be very important for our study, since they summarize well this vision. Frijtof Capra, with its understanding of the life as a introretrorelated net; Leonardo Boff, with its vision of Ecology as common house of all, based on an Ethics of the Life that takes account of the shout of the poor persons, the respect for the life from the care, as right and duty of all, in view of a new humanity. Finally, we make a theological reading from the sources of the faith, Writing and ecclesial Tradition, collating these paradigms, searching contact points that can serve as points of reference for our reflection concerning the respect for the life from the poor person and its relevance for the contemporary theological speech.
