Que fatores evolutivos teriam engendrado tal fenômeno? Nesse trabalho, são discutidos alguns dados e conjecturas da Neuroantropologia Cognitiva, que sugerem uma configuração de fatores, como a adoção do bipedalismo, uso de instrumentos rudimentares, emergência da linguagem e da cooperação social, na origem do fenômeno da cognição humana. A explicação do processo evolutivo humano aponta no sentido da operação de mecanismos de causalidade circular, pelos quais desenvolvimentos incipientes da técnica, da linguagem e da sociabilidade teriam progressivamente causado novos desenvolvimentos nestas mesmas esferas de atividade humana, conduzindo às formas sofisticadas de tecnologia, comunicação e relacionamento humano que caracterizam o período histórico contemporâneo / The human species displays peculiar cognitive abilities that includes continuous learning capacity, symbolic language and self-consciousness. Which evolutionary factors could have engendered this condition? In this work, we discuss evolutionary facts and conjectures from Cognitive Neuroanthropology, suggesting a configuration of several factors - as the adoption of bipedalism, use of rudimentary tools, the emergence of language and social cooperation - in origin of human cognition. An explanation of the process of human evolution could then be achieved from the operation of a mechanism of circular causality, by which incipient developments of technique, language and sociability would progressively cause more complex developments of the same kinds of activity, leading to the sophisticated forms of technology, communication and human relations found in the contemporary epoch

Being and thinking in the social world : phenomenological illuminations of social cognition and human selfhoodHiggins, Joe January 2017 (has links)
At least since the time of Aristotle, it has been widely accepted that “man is by nature a social animal”. We eat, sleep, talk, laugh, cry, love, fight and create in ways that integrally depend on others and the social norms that we collectively generate and maintain. Yet in spite of the widely accepted importance of human sociality in underlying our daily activities, its exact manifestation and function is consistently overlooked by many academic disciplines. Cognitive science, for example, regularly neglects the manner in which social interactions and interactively generated norms canalise and constitute our cognitive processes. Without the inescapable ubiquity of dynamic social norms, any given agent simply could not cognise as a human. In this thesis, I aim to use a range of insights – from phenomenology, social psychology, neuroscience, cultural anthropology and gender studies – to clarify the role of sociality for human life. More specifically, the thesis can be broadly separated into three parts. I begin (chapters 1 and 2) with a broad explanation of how human agents are fundamentally tied to worldly entities and other agents in a way that characterises their ontological existence. In chapters 3 and 4, I criticise two recent and much-discussed theories of social cognition – namely, we-mode cognition and participatory sense-making – for failing to make intelligible the social constitution of human existence. In the later chapters (5-7), I then propose foundations for a more satisfactory theory of social cognition, as well as explicating a view of human selfhood as ‘biosocial', such that even the autonomy of biological bodies is socially codified from a human perspective. Taken together, the aforementioned chapters should contribute to calls for a new direction in social cognitive science, whilst also yielding novel insights into the nature of human selfhood.

Approche développementale de la théorie de l'esprit, de la conscience de soi et de leurs relationsLegrain, Laure 18 December 2010 (has links)
Les cinq études détaillées au cours de cette thèse interrogent divers aspects de la théorie de l’esprit, de la conscience de soi ainsi que du lien (multiple ou unique) qui unit ces deux capacités sociocognitives si particulières. Les deux premières études mettent en évidence différentes variables qui peuvent – ou non- influencer l’attribution d’intention et de fausse croyance à autrui. La troisième étude porte plus précisément sur les différents composants de la conscience de soi et sur leur trajectoire développementale. La quatrième étude interroge le lien développemental entre la théorie de l’esprit et la conscience de soi, alors que la dernière étude questionne la présence de ce lien chez les chimpanzés (Pan Troglodytes).
