Produktionsanpassa ny konstruktionav en HD-topp på Cx-plog / Productioncustomize a new constructionof  HD-top for Cx-plough

Johansson, Alexander January 2012 (has links)
Their main product is the mouldboardplough, the world leader right now in the market with low draft requirement needs and high efficiency. As competition increases and the costs are not reduce the required adaptation of new designs to production in order to bring down costs but also reduce the number of different parts. In this project, I start by on a proposal for a new main component called top to the Cx-plough. It will replace the old top but also the Spanish top used in the Spanisk market. The top is seated at the fron of the mouldboardplough and its purpose is to lift, pull and hold up the plough frame.    First, a thorough review of the process so that problems and improvement opportunities could be identified.I worked on with various calculations in order to conceive how much you could earn on the changes made. The conclusions is that the costs are very dependent on the processing time but also on the capacity available. With the capacity I mean the production capacity to adapt to make various parts for many products more effectively. One of my conclusions from special work is that it is often difficult to compete with companies that makes special parts for various industries. So what are known as contract manufacturing. It is the best in many cases to send over some elements of the production of details to contract manufacturer that makes them more effectively with other machines for the company to be experts on a certain manufacturing process. That way you can reduce the overall cost of the product.Additional findings of this study is that quality problems can mean significant costs if you do not fix it. No sized costs were discovered in the work but in the long run it may be economically indefensible. This meant that cost could increase uncontrollably to a level that directly affects the overall economics of Överums bruk.

Where Bach Meets Jazz: A Critical Edition of Anthony Plog's (b. 1947) Concerto for Flute and Wind Ensemble with Commentary, Revisions, and Additions by the Composer

Flum, Kathryn 08 1900 (has links)
Anthony Plog's Concerto for Flute and Wind Ensemble is a substantial but relatively unknown work from the composer's early compositional period. It deserves wider exposure and recognition in the repertoire for solo flute and wind ensemble, given its accessibility for both the soloist and the ensemble.

Lind, James Meyer the Trumpet Concertos of Anthony Plog: a Performer’s Guide

Lind, James Meyer 08 1900 (has links)
Anthony Plog (b. 1947) has contributed several notable works for brass instruments. He is known for writing extremely technically challenging works that contain angular melodies, fast rhythms and a large degree of chromaticism. Though his music is difficult, it also conveys intense emotions. His music for trumpet, specifically Concerto no. 1 for Trumpet, Brass Ensemble and Percussion and Concerto no. 2 for Trumpet and Orchestra, represents a zenith in his compositional development. This dissertation examines Concerto no. 1 and Concerto no. 2 from a performer’s perspective to better understand the stylistic characteristics and challenges encountered in his music. Each concerto is examined in terms of rhythmic structure, intervallic structure, thematic material, motivic material and form.

Konstruktion av en tornadoplog för snöröjning / Construction of a tornado snowplow

Knutar, Filip January 2022 (has links)
Northern Sweden often get large amounts of snow during the winter season and therefore snowplows are vital when it comes to snow removal. To achieve this, the company Fronteq AB manufactures a tornadoplow which is efficient for this kind of work. Piczitup have therefore acquired an assignment about updating their tornadoplow. The purpose of this assignment was to create 3D-CAD-models and manufacturing bases in form of 2D-sketches with the help from the companies list of requirements. The most important part of the list of requirements was that the sweep is supposed to be solid in one part and that reinforcements are supposed to be implemented. This is going to result in a quicker manufacturing time and a stronger construction. What has been done is that a new plow has been created from old sketches and the new improvements has been implemented. This was done by drawing separate sketches and then inserting the parts into a compilation. The project has advanced in Solidworks The outcome of the method resulted in a complete 3D-model with updated sweep and new reinforcements which are supposed to remove the previous flaws, which was that the plow was difficult to manufacture and that it will get a better construction. All the requirements were fulfilled except the 2D-sketches which are not created due to lack of time. The demarcation for the project is that the plow will only be created in a digital prototype which will result in that there might have to be adjustments made later when testing of the plow has been made.

On the Relationships Among Probabilistic Extensions of Answer Set Semantics

January 2017 (has links)
abstract: Answer Set Programming (ASP) is one of the main formalisms in Knowledge Representation (KR) that is being widely applied in a large number of applications. While ASP is effective on Boolean decision problems, it has difficulty in expressing quantitative uncertainty and probability in a natural way. Logic Programs under the answer set semantics and Markov Logic Network (LPMLN) is a recent extension of answer set programs to overcome the limitation of the deterministic nature of ASP by adopting the log-linear weight scheme of Markov Logic. This thesis investigates the relationships between LPMLN and two other extensions of ASP: weak constraints to express a quantitative preference among answer sets, and P-log to incorporate probabilistic uncertainty. The studied relationships show how different extensions of answer set programs are related to each other, and how they are related to formalisms in Statistical Relational Learning, such as Problog and MLN, which have shown to be closely related to LPMLN. The studied relationships compare the properties of the involved languages and provide ways to compute one language using an implementation of another language. This thesis first presents a translation of LPMLN into programs with weak constraints. The translation allows for computing the most probable stable models (i.e., MAP estimates) or probability distribution in LPMLN programs using standard ASP solvers so that the well-developed techniques in ASP can be utilized. This result can be extended to other formalisms, such as Markov Logic, ProbLog, and Pearl’s Causal Models, that are shown to be translatable into LPMLN. This thesis also presents a translation of P-log into LPMLN. The translation tells how probabilistic nonmonotonicity (the ability of the reasoner to change his probabilistic model as a result of new information) of P-log can be represented in LPMLN, which yields a way to compute P-log using standard ASP solvers or MLN solvers. / Dissertation/Thesis / Masters Thesis Computer Science 2017

DISCOVERING THREE NEW SOLO WORKS FOR TRUMPET: A GUIDE TO THE HISTORY, ANALYSIS, AND PREPARATION OF ANTHONY PLOG’S SONATA, MARTIN ROKEACH’S RUNNING AT THE TOP OF THE WORLD, AND CHARLES RESKIN’S SONATA FOR TRUMPET AND PIANO

Futer, Paul Edward January 2016 (has links)
This monograph will serve as a guide to musicians for the preparation and performance of three new works by three living composers: Trumpet Sonata (2010) by Anthony Plog, Running at the Top of the World (2012) by Martin Rokeach, and Sonata - for trumpet and piano (2007) by Charles Reskin. Included will be sections or chapters on the history and background of each work, biographical information about each composer, detailed theoretical analysis and exclusive interviews with the composers. Each individual interview will provide insight into the music, including information on personal inspiration and imagery, a strong focus on timbre, tips and pointers on putting everything together with piano, thematic elements, and theoretical insights. The detailed analysis included in this dissertation will examine these three works further for their idiomatic use of instrumentation, phrasing, articulation, muting, tempi, and dynamics. Suggestions are given for each of these topics viz. interpretation and performance. With regard to my theoretical approach in this monograph, I will be using a variety of methods developed by important theorists including Hugo Riemann and Paul Hindemith. The work of the latter will be expanded upon substantially because Charles Reskin pays special homage to Hindemith in the third movement of his sonata. In my three analytical studies, I will argue that each composer chooses specific chords for a particular structural or semiotic reason. I will also draw important connections between various types of motivic material and discuss other techniques that each composer uses to provide cohesion among movements. / Music Performance

Abrasive wear of hard faced ground engaging tool / Abrasiv nötning av ythärdade jordbearbetningsverktyg

Eugenio Cantú Gómez, David January 2017 (has links)
Ground engaging tools are very important components of machinery for agricultural applications, such as soil tillage. Ploughshare points serve as the first point of contact between ploughs and the hard minerals in the soil. One of the biggest problems that these tools encounter is abrasive wear, which decreases tillage quality, causes frequent tillage stops, increases fuel consumption of the tractor, and results in soil erosion. During this investigation, wear measurement, surface profiling and microscopic analysis were performed on three share point samples running in silica and granite sand – two points were commercial ones made of steel EN 22MnB5 and hardened. They served as commercial references. A third share point was also a commercial EN 22MnB5 one, but not hardened and laser cladded by a Ni-base + 50% carbide powder mix (Höganäs 1559–40 + 50% 4590). The abrasive wear testing was performed in an especially designed carousel tribometer. The laser cladded sample suffered only 30% of the wear shown in the EN 22MnB5 reference sample running under the same conditions.

Utveckling av plogklaff till Ålös snöröjningsredskap / Development of add-on plow for Ålös snow clearing implement

Sellgren, Marc January 2017 (has links)
This thesis work has been carried out for Ålö, a manufacturer of front loaders and implements for these. One of their implements, whose purpose is snow clearing, is equipped with hydraulically adjustable flaps that can be folded backwards and used as plows. However, they do not fill this task satisfactorily as snow tends to fall down behind them. A triangular gap between the flaps and the ground is also formed during plowing. This leaves a string of snow behind, aside from the snowmass already falling down behind the flaps. The goal for this project was to develop a plow that solves the aforementioned problems by replacing the right side flap on the bucket. The development was initiated with a study of reports, existing plows, contact with users and determining existing constraints. This has since provided the basis for a series of concepts, of which the most promising ones were joined to a prototype. Force calculations based on the load scenario that occurs during plowing have been used to find appropriate fasteners and create boundary conditions for a finite element analysis. The finite element analysis has then been used to estimate the number of cycles with maximum load the plow can be subjected to before it succumbs to fatigue failure. Force calculations showed that the pressure limiter for the hydraulic cylinder opens even before maximum load is reached. Despite this, finite element analysis and force calculations for fasteners were still based on the condition that maximum load is achieved momentarily to produce convervative results. Under this condition, the load on fasteners differs only ca 7-10 % between finite element analysis and calculations made by hand. All calculations are within the span for the fasteners proof strength. Fatigue calculations showed that the number of cycles the plow can handle with maximum load amounts to approximately 346 000. This refers to areas of interest and thus does not include parts already evaluated in the original flap. Welds, which usually dictate minimum strength in situations like these, have not seen any fatigue evaluations, but will instead be addressed while testing the prototype. The prototype meets the set goals and production documentation in the form of 3D-CAD models and 2D drawings (including weldment drawings) have been delivered. A physical prototype is also ordered and will be manufactured by Vännäs Verkstads AB, scheduled delivery date is 2017-06-08. It will be evaluated during the winter of 2017/2018.
