This work is aimed at identifying the effects of the special measures taken to improve women's employment efficiency - in the spheres of childcare arrangements, parental leave and gender equality. Keywords: fertility, employment, work-life balance, European Union member states

Žemlová, Klára January 2013 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is to identify and evaluate the unemployment situation in the Czech Republic. Which factors affect the problems of unemployment and what groups of people in the Czech Republic are the riskiest. I also focused on the activities of the employment offices in the Czech Republic and methods and measures for solving the problem of unemployment specifically. What tools and what methods are used to help job seekers find suitable jobs in the shortest possible timeframe. In the last part of the thesis I focused on the active employment policy instruments to assess which tools are used the most frequently by the employment office and why. The first part of the thesis deals with the problems of unemployment. This is a very variable quantity that depends not only on the economy state of the country, other factors are involved in it as well. One of these significant factors includes the mobility, which means the reluctance to commute. Mobility unfortunately does not only reflect the unwillingness of people to commute, it can be also affected by other factors, among which we can include poor transport infrastructure, transport lines cancelling and never- ending increase of fuel prices. A significant factor is the reluctance of people to migrate to work to regions where unemployment is...

Faryadová, Zuzana January 2008 (has links)
The paper is discussing German social policy with an emphasis on labour market policy. The topic is set into the context of European social policy and European employment policy. The paper is divided into three parts. The first part informs the reader about European employment policy as a whole. It describes its evolution and targets specified by the European union. The second part is devoted to German labour market policy with an accent on the extensive reforms of the last years. Subsequently, the evaluation of these reforms and the current situation on the labour market in Germany are described. The last part is dealing with German labour market policy in the European context: German National reform programme and a comparative analysis with other member states of the EU. At the end of this chapter there are implications for the German labour market policy. The aim of this paper is to answer the question: How efficient is the German labour market policy comparing with other member states of the EU with regard to the target indicators of European employment policy? What direction is it heading and what are the possibilities of making it more efficient?

Macroeconomic policy mix, employment and inflation in a Post-Keynesian alternative to the New Consensus Model

Hein, Eckhard, Stockhammer, Engelbert January 2007 (has links) (PDF)
New Consensus Models (NCMs) have been criticised by Post-Keynesians (PKs) for a variety of reasons. The paper presents a model that synthesises several of the PK arguments. The model consists of three classes: rentiers, firms and workers. It has a short-run inflation barrier derived from distribution conflict between these classes, which is endogenous in the medium run. Distribution conflict does not only affect inflation but also income shares. On the demand side the income classes have different saving propensities. We apply a Kaleckian investment function with expected sales and internal funds as major determinants. The paper analyses short-run stability and includes medium-run endogeneity channels for the Non-Accelerating-Inflation-Rate-of-Unemployment (NAIRU): persistence mechanisms in the labour market, adaptive wage and profit aspirations, investment in capital stock and cost effects of interest rate changes. The model is used to analyse NCM and PK policy assignments and policy rules. We argue that improved employment without increasing inflation will be possible, if macroeconomic policies are coordinated along the following lines: The central bank targets distribution, wage bargaining parties target inflation and fiscal policies are applied for short- and medium-run real stabilisation purposes. RODINNÁ POLITIKA A JEJÍ ÚČINNOST V PROSTŘEDÍ ČESKÉ REPUBLIKY A ŠVÉDSKA / Current family policy and its effectiveness in the milieu of the Czech Republic and Sweden

Petrusová, Alena January 2011 (has links)
The thesis deals with comparison of family policy systems in the Czech Republic and Sweden in order to assess the overall profamily environment in these countries. Thesis analyzes the specific tools to support families and evaluates their effectiveness in terms of whether they are able to secure the young generation with some financial resources and create conditions for reconciliation of family and work. Swedish family policy is in this regard considered successful, as evidenced here a relatively high birth rate due to adverse demographic trends in other countries, such as the Czech Republic. Work in fact seeks the causes of the family policy success in Sweden and its shortcomings in the Czech Republic, points out the differences in systems of family policies due to different historical development, which reflects the volume of financial funds for families with children, and indicates as a key variable in the success of family policy area of reconciling work and family lives, where the Czech Republic currently lags far behind.

Nezaměstnanost absolventů v Jihočeském kraji / Unemployment of graduates´ in southern Bohemia

POLÁČKOVÁ, Lenka January 2008 (has links)
The aim of my diploma paper is summing up of graduates´ unemployment in southern Bohemia. The purpose of the paper is to create a compact image of labour market in the Czech Republic and to describe main factors influencing this market in the Czech Republic. My paper should touch state unemployment policy, to chart unemployment in southern Bohemia with the reflection on graduates´ unemployment, chart the structure of unemployed graduates, their possibilities at the labour market in the Czech Republic, to propose possibilities for the decrease of graduates´ unemployment in southern Bohemia. My survey is based on the data from Labour Market Situation Report from several Bureaus of Labour, data from Czech Statistic Office and Ministry of Labour and Social Issues. The graduates themselves are one off the most risk companies from the people who are economically active. The claiming of these groups is worse. The graduates are disadvantaged in comparison with other job applicants {--} less praxes, missing work habits and lox experience. The graduates´ unemployment rage is highly influenced by economical situation in our country, total unemployment, free working station offer degree and rate between supply and demand. It is also influenced by educational structure of graduates at the same time. The employers´ interest in graduates has been increasing. The loss of people at qualified positions is very important {--} firms are forced to offer free positions even to the people with smaller or no praxes. Another reason for the increase is policy development itself, primarily in financial sphere, car industry and in services. Last but not least, graduates´ attractively has been increasing hand in hand with improving quality of their profiles.
