January 2008 (has links)
Abstract: The objective of this work is to analyze the reality scientifically found in the ground of factory of a manufacturing company of agricultural equipments compared to the cares theoretically requested in the robotic GMAW e Pulsed of two dissimilar steels, the ABNT LN28 steel and a low alloy steel, the SAE 8620 steel. It is recommended of the literature that in the welding of the steel SAE 8620 the preheating is used, in that way it will be analyzed the influence of the preheating temperature and of the torch weaving movement in the microstructure and in the resistance of the welded joint. For that objective they will be soldiers several test specimens under different preheating temperatures and weaving movements conditions. In the analysis of the resulting microstructure will be considered the heating affected zone composed by the material SAE 8620 and the melted area and the resistance the traction of the welded joint obtained in the process. We will conclude that it is not advisable, in the factory ground, to use of preheating, pulsed current and to do deepened studies as the influence of the torch weaving movement, being considered that those variables didn't affect the microstructure and resistance of the welded joint prejudicially and any disposition in opposite would endear the process unnecessarily. / Mestre

Soldagem a arco elétrico assistida por aquecimento indutivo localizado

Dutra, William Todendi January 2017 (has links)
One of the purposes of welding preheating is to decrease cooling rate of the joint to be welded, with consequent minimization of brittle phases formation. This practice is usually performed in a relatively large area around the joint, eventually causing undue changes in base metal mechanical and metallurgical properties, beyond to waste energy and time. However, the heat located in the joint also has the function of assisting in the melting of the base metal, so that it reaches temperatures close to the melting point of the material. This preheating may increase the penetration of the weld bead. In thicker plates may be discarded bevel machining in some cases and can be achieved higher welding speeds. Therefore, in this work an inductive heating equipment was used to locally heat the zone to be welded, aiming to evaluate the formed microstructure and the hardness profile found for the varied parameters. The assembly and operating parameters were evaluated for their influence on the geometry of the weld bead. The use of preheating was effective in reducing cooling rates and consequently in the proportion of brittle phases and maximum microhardness of the welded joint. The work shows that penetration and weld bead width increase with the increasing of the preheating, and reduces with the increase in welding speed, being the welding speed the factor with the greatest influence on this responses.

Probing Early and Late Inflations Beyond Tilted LambdaCDM

Huang, Zhiqi Jr. 15 February 2011 (has links)
The topic of this thesis is about cosmic inflations, including the early-universe inflation that seeds the initial inhomogeneities of our universe, and the late-time cosmic acceleration triggered by dark energy. The two inflationary epochs have now become part of the standard $\Lambda$CDM cosmological model. In the standard paradigm, dark energy is a cosmological constant or vacuum energy, while the early-universe inflation is driven by a slowly rolling scalar field. Currently the minimal $\Lambda$CDM model with six parameters agrees well with cosmological observations. If the greatest achievement of the last twenty golden years of cosmology is the $\Lambda$CDM model, the theme of future precision cosmology will be to search for deviations from the minimal $\Lambda$CDM paradigm. It is in fact expected that the upcoming breakthroughs of cosmology will be achieved by observing the subdominant anomalies, such as non-Gaussianities in the Cosmic Microwave Background map. The aim of this thesis is then to make theoretical predictions from models beyond $\Lambda$CDM, and confront them with cosmological observations. These models include: 1) a new dark energy parametrization based on quintessence models; 2) reconstructing early-universe inflationary trajectories, going beyond the slow-roll assumption; 3) non-Gaussian curvature fluctuations from preheating after the early-universe inflation; 4) infra-red cascading produced by particle production during inflation; 5) preheating after Modular inflation; 6) decaying cold dark matter. We update the cosmological data sets -- Cosmic Microwave Background, Type Ia supernova, weak gravitational lensing, galaxy power spectra, and Lyman-$\alpha$ forest -- to the most current catalog, and run Monte Carlo Markov Chain calculations to obtain the likelihood of parameters. We also simulate mock data to forecast future observational constraints.

January 2008 (has links)
Abstract: The identification and qualification of the microstructural constituents present in the welded joint are very important for the relationship between the microstructure of the weld beads with the mechanical properties, particularly toughness. Working with variations of pulse parameters, peak current and peak time, and also preheating temperature, had been quantified the constituents acicular ferrite and microphases present in weld metal; being both considered controllers of toughness. The results of this work demostrated that greater amounts of acicular ferrite had been occurred in the lowest levels of pulse parameters and preheating temperature. As for microphases, it has a reduction of the amount with the increase of pulse parameters and preheating temperature. It was observed, also, the influence of the cooling speed in the final microstructure of the weld metal. The samples were welded by the metal gas arc welding, using pulsed arc and tubular wire. As metal base was used HSLA structural steel plate (COS-AR 50), with "X"-groove and bevel angle 30º. The addition metal was the tubular metal-cored wire "E70C-6M" with diameter of 1.2 mm. / Mestre

O pré-aquecimento do universo: da ressonância paramétrica à turbulência / Preheating of the universe: from the parametric resonance to turbulence

José Antonio de Azevedo Crespo 11 October 2013 (has links)
Inflation can resolve a few problems of the Standard Model of Cosmology, while still preserving the successful from Big Bang model. In the simplest version, inflation is driven by a scalar field, the inflaton, which causes the universe to expand exponentially fast. Afterwards, the inflaton decays and reheating of the universe occurs. However, some authors suggest the existence of an intermediate phase, called preheating. The decay of the inflaton has a rich non-linear dynamics. In the first stage, the parametric resonance produces exponential growth in some modes. This changes the homogeneous inflaton dynamics, producing a restructuring the resonance charts of the equation of motion of the perturbative modes. Therefore, there is energy transfer to other modes, until the universe thermalize. This energy transfer is typical of a turbulent system. Since the evolution is non-linear, a implementation computational of numerical methods is convenient. In this context, spectral methods have proven to be an excellent tool for studying this kind of system. This thesis presents the results of the numerical scheme developed for the model with the quartic potential, that will be the basis for other studies to be undertaken. As shown, this scheme has proven to be extremely accurate and efficient.
