This Master thesis is within the area of innovative production. The authors are Master students at Mälardalen University in the field of production and process development. The purpose of the thesis is to design a production development process and to apply it in the case study performed at ABB Control Products in Västerås, Sweden. The new production concept developed is needed due to several changes in production of large size contactors that will take place during 2012; a new product size will be introduced, a new design of current products will be implemented, and production capacity for future increasing demands must be investigated. The approach to generate the production concept has been based on theoretical methods and models with focus on the lean philosophy. Through the theoretical framework a process for production development has been designed with the stages; Planning and Preparation, Current State Analyze, Concept Generation, Concept Analyze and Selection, and Visualization of Concept. The outcome of the thesis project is a mapping and disturbance analyze of current production, and a new production concept with an automation solution and a new balancing of the production line included. Finally the new production concept has been visualized in a 3D-simulation model. The main differences of the new production concept compared to current production is that conveyors are used as transportation system through the entire production process and two parallel flows is used in the production line in aim to shorten the lead time.

Esta definição não auxilia no trabalho da (e)Educação de adolescentes e nada diz sobre estes sujeitos. Estudos anteriores trouxeram a definição das adolescências e marcaram sua diversidade e multiplicidade. Este trabalho propõe a eliminação da adolescência, como definição de um sujeito, no campo da (e)Educação, fazendo com que os trabalhos avancem no sentido diminuir os efeitos da utilização da definição, sendo uma delas a sua própria morte, de diversas maneiras. Da Educação de adolescentes ou sobre eles, passamos à possibilidade da educação, como processo pedagógico e da Educação como instituição, com adolescentes, sem passar pela definição de adolescência. Michel Foucault é o autor central e quase único com o qual esta tese dialoga. No primeiro capítulo são apresentadas as noções da invenção da adolescência como problema; da aproximação da adolescência e anormalidade; das instituições de sequestro; da escola e do presídio como lugares de diciplinarização dos corpos; do sujeito de direito numa reflexão crítica sobre o Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente (ECA). O segundo capítulo traz as noções do biopoder e da biopolítica, apontadas como outra forma de poder que atuam sobre a população, também dos e das adolescentes; e as noções do liberalismo, neoliberalismo e capital humano, centrais na compreensão da constituição da adolescência como período da formação do indivíduo produtivo. No terceiro capítulo, incorporam-se conceitos de Gilles Deleuze e Félix Guattari aos de Foucault, na tentativa de acrescentar novos elementos para constituir na (e)Educação formas de resistência e linhas de fuga. / Abstract: The object of the research here developed is the interpellation of adolescence as a stage in human development, defined by science and "invented", that is, instituted in the 20th century, therefore named the century of adolescence, as the moment of definition, characterization and institutionalization of the ways of educating an forming these new subjects. The defended thesis is that this definition does not help with working on the Education of adolescents and says nothing about these subjects. Previous studies evolved towards redefining adolescence, thus marking its diversity and multiplicity. The advance proposed by this paper is to eliminate adolescence as the definition of a subject in the field of Education, aiming for diminishing the effects of the use of such definition, where one of them is its own death, under different forms. From Education of or about adolescents we then go to Education as a pedagogical process and Education as an institution with adolescents, without going through the definition of adolescence. That way, we can recover the innovating potential of Education in contributing to the changes in the lives of individuals and in the reality surrounding them. Michel Foucault is the central and virtually only author with whom this thesis dialogues; through several of his works, from different times in his academic production, I could have access to the contents necessary for the elaboration and finalization of this thesis. In the first chapter the following ideas are presented: the invention of adolescence as a problem, with Cesar (1998) as a reference; the approximation of adolescence and abnormality, with Foucault (2001) and his genealogical study on the notion of an abnormal individual, arising in the late 18th century, as a reference; the kidnapping institutions, based on Foucault (2000); schools and prisons as places for the disciplining of bodies, aiming for the production of docile bodies for producing capital, with Foucault (1987) as a reference; and, finally, the subject of rights in a critical reflection about the Child and Adolescent Statute (Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente - ECA), with Foucault (2003) as a reference. In the second chapter, I present the notions on biopower and biopolitics, based on the studies of Foucault (2008), as different forms of power acting on the population, including the adolescents. The notions of liberalism, neoliberalism and human capital are central in understanding adolescence as the time of forming a productive individual. In the third and last chapter, the concepts of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari (1992) are incorporated to those of Foucault (2006), in an attempt to add new elements that may contribute to constitute forms of resistance and lines of escape in Education. The concepts addressed in this chapter are: the construction of concept as a function of Philosophy and the field of immanence; the care of oneself, parrhesia, ethos and problematization. After years of research about power and its forms of exercise in institutions, Foucault (2006) presented another possibility to face reality and the established politics; he went back to the Greeks and recovered the notion of caring of oneself, better translated into settling oneself down, interconnected to the knowledge of oneself and the practice of oneself. / Doutorado / Psicologia, Desenvolvimento Humano e Educação / Doutor em Educação

The Master’s thesis deals with the approaches to the introduction of the principles of lean manufacturing and especially the concept of Just in Time (JIT). It is structurally divided into theoretical and practical part. While the theoretical part focuses on the theory of lean manufacturing and the details about steam turbines, the practical part gradually deals with the introduction of the company, production portfolio, supplier analysis and especially the production process. The practical part ends with the selection of proposals for changes in the production concept, including partial economic evaluations with regard to customer requirements to meet delivery dates, quality and required costs.

Este trabalho aborda a evolução do móvel seriado para fins residenciais no Brasil, notadamente produzidos com painéis de madeira reconstituída. O período abrangido é o mesmo da utilização efetiva destes painéis que vai de meados do século XX até os dias atuais. O enfoque do estudo centra-se na origem e desenvolvimento dos painéis bem como seus elementos de revestimento ou acabamento; a passagem do sistema de produção do móvel de artesanal para o industrializado, com as descrições básicas de suas etapas produtivas atuais e o sistema de comercialização comumente empregado neste tipo de móvel, bem como as novas formas alternativas, apontando os fatores que direta ou indiretamente interferiram no aspecto formal dos produtos. Analisa o estágio em que a atividade de design se encontra neste setor e sua posição perante os demais elementos intervenientes. Por fim, o trabalho enfatiza a efetiva contribuição dos painéis de madeira reconstituída na consolidação e aprimoramento do setor moveleiro, colaborando na implantação de processos racionais de produção em larga escala, os quais puderam proporcionar o acesso do mobiliário a praticamente todas as faixas da população. / This study focuses on the evolution of home furniture in Brazil, mainly those manufactured with wood based panels used in serial production systems. The period covered is the same as the effective usage of such panels, i.e., since mid-twentieth century to the present days. It concentrates on the origin and development of the types of panels and their coating or finishing alternatives, the switching of furniture production systems from artisanal craft to the large-scale production lines, the basic descriptions of the current stages of production and marketing systems commonly used for this kind of furniture, as well as new alternatives, pointing out factors that directly or indirectly have interfered in the formal appearance of the products. It also analyzes the current stage of the practical usage of design in this sector and its position regarding other elements involved. Finally, this study emphasizes the effective contribution of wood based panels in the consolidation and improvement of furniture industry, collaborating with the implementation of rational processes of large-scale production, which could allow the access to the furniture market to virtually all income classes.
