評估產業之雲端準備度 / Assessing Cloud Readiness in Enterprises

近年來雲端運算逐漸盛行且其已被許多企業採用,雲端運算所帶來的好處包含提供更好的連結、企業不同廠的無間隙合作,進而提高生產效率。透過現存論文的研究,我們發現企業導入雲端運算與使其和企業內企業流程成功結合為兩大企業成功的因素。然而,要如何導入與對雲端運算加以控制卻很少在現存論文中談及,更遑論企業在導入雲端前該做哪些準備等議題。本研究也透過文獻的探討提出兩個研究面向(管理面與科技面),文獻探討也發現,此兩面向為企業選擇導入公有雲或是私有雲的主因。再者,本研究提出兩個討論面向的同時,也與現存的雲端服務供應商討論此兩面向,希望能讓兩面向更加符合現存雲端狀況。根據這兩面向的基礎,本研究在此兩大面向下提出許多因素來探討企業導入雲端的準備度。本研究也進一步透過問卷的方式訪問現存有採用或是導入雲端的企業,問卷內容涵蓋上述提到的兩面向,進而透過所收集的資料之分析來探討真正影響雲端導入成功與否的因素是否與研究所提出的假設符合。研究結果發現,虛擬化與IT建設的有無與完善程度對於私有雲的導入成功與否有正向關係。而研究結果也指出,公有雲與私有雲兩種型態的雲端也有相互的關係。 / Cloud computing has been dedicated to providing several benefits, such as better connectivity and seemingly seamless cooperation between different plants, that improve firm performance. Previous research maintains that introducing cloud computing and combining it with companies’ processes are two of the prime factors that lead companies to success; however, the manner of implementing this technology and exerting control over it are rarely discussed, especially with regard to the preparation before a company’s official launch of cloud computing. A literature review enables us to propose two dimensions—technological and managerial concerns—of factors driving companies to introduce cloud computing through both private and public clouds. Moreover, after proposing the two dimensions, we examine them by conducting interviews with several companies in the hopes of making these dimensions more applicable and pragmatic in business. Because the purpose of this research is to prepare companies to implement cloud computing, we design a questionnaire based on the dimensions and undertake a survey with several companies that have implemented cloud computing to determine the underlying factors influencing the performance of cloud computing. The results of this research show that both of the virtualization and IT infrastructure readiness factors have positive impacts on private clouds, and the results also indicate a relationship between public and private clouds, which means companies that have adopted public clouds are more likely to succeed in adopting private clouds.

Anbieter von Cloud Speicherdiensten im Überblick

Durch die immer stärker werdende Flut an digitalen Informationen basieren immer mehr Anwendungen auf der Nutzung von kostengünstigen Cloud Storage Diensten. Die Anzahl der Anbieter, die diese Dienste zur Verfügung stellen, hat sich in den letzten Jahren deutlich erhöht. Um den passenden Anbieter für eine Anwendung zu finden, müssen verschiedene Kriterien individuell berücksichtigt werden. In der vorliegenden Studie wird eine Auswahl an Anbietern etablierter Basic Storage Diensten vorgestellt und miteinander verglichen. Für die Gegenüberstellung werden Kriterien extrahiert, welche bei jedem der untersuchten Anbieter anwendbar sind und somit eine möglichst objektive Beurteilung erlauben. Hierzu gehören unter anderem Kosten, Recht, Sicherheit, Leistungsfähigkeit sowie bereitgestellte Schnittstellen. Die vorgestellten Kriterien können genutzt werden, um Cloud Storage Anbieter bezüglich eines konkreten Anwendungsfalles zu bewerten. / Due to the ever-increasing flood of digital information, more and more applications make use of cost-effective cloud storage services. The number of vendors that provide these services has increased significantly in recent years. The identification of an appropriate service provider requires an individual consideration of several criteria. This survey presents a comparison of some established basic storage providers. For this comparison, several criteria are extracted that are applicable to any of the selected providers and thus allow for an assessment that is as objective as possible. The criteria include factors like costs, legal information, security, performance, and supported interfaces. The presented criteria can be used to evaluate cloud storage providers in a specific use case in order to identify the most suitable service based on individual requirements.

繼網際網路蓬勃發展後,人們的工作與生活更為便利。雲端運算問世之後,更多企業與個人將雲端運算做資料備份與發佈的平台。企業使用雲端的方式有以下三種:即公有雲、私有雲及混合雲。企業使用公有雲(Public Cloud)將服務與資料儲存交由雲端提供商託管,例如使用Google Docs、G-mail,以減少企業內部的成本。企業亦可建置私有雲(Private Cloud),以提供檔案備援與內部服務。另外,企業可結合公有雲與私有雲以構成混合雲(Hybrid Cloud),即使用公有雲儲存敏感度不高之資料並將敏感度較高的資料存至私有雲或本地端。 本研究將探討企業在使用混合雲時遇到的帳號以及檔案內容與授權問題,實作上公有雲應用服務以Google Docs為例、私有雲以Hadoop為例、本地端則以Linux-base電腦為例。本研究使用開放標準OpenID 與O’Auth達到對公有雲的帳號認證、檔案授權,以開發出一個跨本地端電腦或私有雲與公有雲帳號與檔案內容權限之管理與同步系統。本系統可解決在公有雲、私有雲與企業內部系統多重帳號的困擾與企業人員外部存取與內部存取時的權限不足或檔案版本不同的問題。 / Drawing on the rapidly growing Internet technology, people now work and live in a more convenient way. Due to the progress of cloud computing, more and more companies as well as people are using cloud computing as a platform in order to backup and publish data. There are three ways that how enterprises deploy cloud computing: public cloud, private cloud and hybrid cloud. In order to reduce costs, enterprises now days store their data using public cloud and entrust to the public cloud providers, such as using Google Docs, G-mail. Enterprises can also build private clouds to provide files and internal services backup. In addition, enterprises are able to combine public cloud and private cloud into hybrid cloud. We are used to store less sensitive data on the public cloud, while using private cloud or local storage to store highly sensitive data. This study aims to design a system that can solve the problems regarding authentication, file content synchronization and authorization, while enterprises benefit by using hybrid cloud storage. System is designed by taking Google Docs as an example for the public cloud, Hadoop as the example for private cloud, and Linux-base computer as an example for local storage. This research addresses the open standard, namely: “OpenID” and “O’Auth”, in order to solve data content and non-consistency permission between public cloud, private cloud and local hosts.

A computação em nuvem é considerada um paradigma computacional da atualidade. Sua adoção vem crescendo nos últimos anos, contudo ainda é incipiente nas organizações brasileiras. Por ser uma tecnologia inovadora, a computação em nuvem vem recebendo maior atenção da academia nos últimos anos, contudo a abordagem do assunto na literatura de Sistemas de Informação ainda é considerada baixa, apesar de crescente. A presente dissertação tem o objetivo de analisar os fatores de adoção da tecnologia, estabelecendo uma relação entre elementos de teorias de base e fatores de adoção. Foram identificados na literatura elementos teóricos e fatores relacionados à computação em nuvem, sendo realizadas associações entre tais fatores e elementos. Os elementos teóricos identificados na revisão da literatura são oriundos da teoria dos custos de transação, teoria da dependência de recursos e teoria de difusão da inovação. A pesquisa realizada é de caráter exploratório, por meio de estudos de casos múltiplos, realizados em três empresas que já adotaram computação em nuvem. O estudo utilizou como fontes de evidências entrevistas semiestruturadas, documentos e consulta a sites corporativos das organizações pesquisadas. Para análise das entrevistas foi utilizada a técnica de análise de conteúdo, com o auxílio do software MAXQDA10. Os resultados do estudo apresentaram como fatores de adoção de computação em nuvem: confiabilidade, escalabilidade, economia, privacidade e segurança. A pesquisa também contribui para o preenchimento da lacuna na literatura de Sistemas de Informação, oferecendo subsídios para estudos quantitativos que confirmem os fatores levantados. / Cloud computing is considered a new computational paradigm for many researchers and practitioners. As considered an innovative technology, cloud computing adoption has been gathering more attention in the academy. However, this subject in the Information Systems literature still has little attention, although increasing. This dissertation intends to analyze the adoption factors of cloud computing and establish associations between technology adoption factors and theory elements. Initially were identified in the literature of economic and organizational theories some elements related to the Diffusion of Innovations Theory, Transaction Cost Economics and Resource Dependency Theory. Then, the technology adoption factors were related directly to the cloud computing features. Consequently the theory elements were associated with the technology adoption factors. This research was exploratory, through multiple case studies in three companies that already adopted cloud computing. The data collection was made by interviews and documents analysis. To analyze the seven interviews this research used the content analysis method, using the software MAXQDA10. Thereafter, was conducted an association between the theory elements and the technology adoption factors. As main results, were confirmed as adoption factors in cloud computing: reliability, scalability, security, privacy and economy. This study also contributes for fill in a lack in the literature, as well as offer information for future quantitative researches about the technology adoption factors.

Für Geschäftsbereiche mit hohen Anforderungen an Vertraulichkeit und Datenschutz zur Verarbeitung ihrer sensitiven Informationen kann für die Nutzung von Public-Cloud-Technologien keine Benutzerakzeptanz ausgewiesen werden. Die Ursachen dafür erwachsen aus dem inhärenten Strukturkonzept verteilter, begrenzter Verantwortlichkeiten und einem fehlenden Cloud-Anwender-Vertrauen. Die vorliegende Arbeit verfolgt ein Cloud-Anwender orientiertes Vorgehen zur Durchsetzung regelnder Policy-Konzepte, kombiniert mit einem holistischen Ansatz zur Herstellung einer durchgehenden Vertrauensbasis. Der Aspekt Vertrauen erhält eine eigenständige Konzeptualisierung und wird zu einem Cloud-Anwender-Instrument für die Gestaltung vertrauenswürdiger infrastruktureller Eigenschaften entwickelt. Jede weitere Form einer Policy entwickelt ihren verbindlichen regulierenden Wert erst durch eine unlösliche Verbindung mit den hier vorgelegten Konzepten vertrauenswürdiger Entitäten. Ein ontologisch formalisierter Beschreibungsansatz vollzieht die für eine Regulierung notwendige Konzeptualisierung einer domänenspezifischen IT-Architektur und qualifizierender Sicherheitseigenschaften. Eigenständige Konzeptklassen für die Regulierung liefern den Beschreibungsrahmen zur Ableitung integrierter Trust-Policies. Darauf aufbauende Domänenmodelle repräsentieren eine vom Cloud-Anwender definierte Erwartung in Bezug auf ein reguliertes Cloud-Architektur-Design und reflektieren die reale Welt auf Grundlage vertrauenswürdiger Fakten. Vertrauen quantifiziert sich im Ergebnis logischer Schlussfolgerungen und ist Ausdruck zugesicherter Cloud-Sicherheitseigenschaften und geregelter Verhaltensformen.

Governance a management služeb cloud computingu z pohledu spotřebitele / Cloud computing governance a management from consumer point of view

Cloud computing brings widely recognized benefits as well as new challenges and risks resulting mainly from the fact that cloud service provider is an external third party that provides public cloud services in multi-tenancy model. At present, widely accepted IT governance frameworks lack focus on cloud computing governance and do not fully address the requirements of cloud computing from cloud consumer viewpoint. Given the absence of any comprehensive cloud computing governance and management framework, this doctoral dissertation thesis focuses on specific aspects of cloud service governance and management from consumer perspective. The main aim of doctoral dissertation thesis is the design of methodological framework for cloud service governance and management (Cloud computing governance and management) from consumer point of view. Cloud consumer is considered as a medium or large-sized enterprise that uses services in public cloud computing model, which are offered and delivered by cloud service provider. Theoretical part of this doctoral dissertation thesis identifies the main theoretical concepts of IT governance, IT management and cloud computing (chapter 2). Analytical part of this doctoral dissertation thesis reviews the literature dealing with specifics of cloud services utilization and their impact on IT governance and IT management, cloud computing governance and cloud computing management (chapter 3). Further, existing IT governance and IT management frameworks (SOA Governance, COBIT, ITIL and MBI) were analysed and evaluated in terms of the use of cloud services from cloud consumer perspective (chapter 4). Scientific research was based on Design Science Research Methodology with intention to design and evaluate artifact methodological framework. The main part of this doctoral dissertation thesis proposes methodical framework Cloud computing governance and management based on SOA Governance, COBIT 5 and ITIL 2011 (chapter 5, 6 and 7). Verification of proposed methodical framework Cloud computing governance and management from cloud consumer perspective was based on scientific method of case study (chapter 8). The main objective of the case study was to evaluate and verify proposed methodical framework Cloud computing governance and management in a real business environment. The main contribution of this doctoral dissertation thesis is both the use of existing knowledge, approaches and methodologies in area of IT governance and IT management to design methodical framework Cloud computing governance and management and the extension of Management of Business Informatics (MBI) framework by a set of new tasks containing procedures and recommendations relating to adoption and utilization of cloud computing services.

Många företag idag använder molnet som en del i deras systemarkitektur. Det har blivit allt vanligare att verksamheter flyttar sina applikationer till molnet som gör det möjligt att nå både information och applikationer över internet. Det finns flera olika sätt att använda sig utav molntjänster. Verksamheter kan själva ta hand om infrastrukturen och själva införskaffa den hårdvara som krävs för att driva verksamhetens applikationer och göra det möjligt att nå applikationer och informationssystem över internet. Det finns också möjlighet att hyra en plats i stora datacenter från en tredjepartsleverantör, vilket också kallas för det publika molnet. Att hyra en plats i det publika molnet är fördelaktigt av många anledningar, bara genom att få tillgång till flera datacenter världen över till en låg kostnad är en av dem. En annan är att kunna utnyttja den prestanda som finns i det publika molnet utan att själv behöva göra några investeringar i hårdvara eller infrastruktur. Att själv investera i den infrastruktur som krävs för att ha ett moln med datacenter över hela världen skulle vara väldigt kostsamt för en verksamhet. Det är då mycket kostnadseffektivare att hyra in sig i en tredjepartsleverantörs datacenter. Detta innebär dock att verksamheten måste anpassa sig tredjepartsleverantören samt att den information och de applikationer som verksamheten har hamnar i samma datacenter som andra verksamheters. Den här studien ser närmare på de funktioner i molntjänster som tredjepartsleverantörer kan leverera samt vilka fördelar det kan föra med sig vid utveckling av informationssystem. Studien syftar till att följa upp på verksamheter som under en tid använt sig av molntjänster från en tredjepartsleverantör för att sedan låta dem beskriva vilka fördelar de upplevt. För att genomföra studien har intervjuer med personer som under en längre tid arbetat med molntjänster som levererats av en tredepartsleverantör. Även tidigare forskning på ämnet har studerats. Sedan har även en analys sammanställt den insamlade empirin för att skapa sig en bild över hur relationerna mellan teknikens funktioner och fördelar påverkat arbetet med utveckling av informationssystem. Detta leder fram till en slutsats som presenterar de fördelar samt det resultat som verksamheter kan förvänta sig för utveckling av informationssystem genom användning av en publik molnarkitektur från en tredjepartsleverantör. Den här studien visar att funktioner inom publika moln kan på flera sätt förbättra utvecklingsprocessen för informationssystem. Tekniken kan bidra med funktioner som kan korta ner tiden det tar att sätta upp testmiljöer samt att få applikationer i drift. Det kan också leda till sänkta kostnader genom en fördelaktig pay-as-you-go modell men kan även leda till en inlåsningseffekt mot tredjepartsleverantören. / Many companies today are using the cloud as part of their system architecture. It has become increasingly common for businesses to move their applications to the cloud which makes it possible to access both information and applications over the internet. There are several ways to use cloud services. Businesses can acquire the necessary infrastructure and hardware required to run their applications and make it possible to reach the applications over the internet. There is also the option to rent space in data centers from a third-party provider. This is also referred to as the public cloud. Renting space in the public cloud is beneficial for many reasons as you can get access to multiple data centers worldwide at a low cost. It is also possible to take advantage of the performance of the cloud available if needed without making any investment in hardware or infrastructure. If a business would invest in the infrastructure required to run their own cloud in data centers all over the world it would be very expensive. It is a lot cheaper to rent space in a third-party provider's data center. However, this means that the business must accept the third-party provider’s terms. The information and applications that the business have in the third-party provider’s data centers will be stored together with other clients. In this study we look at the functions of cloud services that third-party providers have to offer and what benefits it can bring for development of information systems. This study aims to follow up on businesses that have used cloud services from a third party and then have them describe what benefits they experienced from using the technology. To conduct this study interviews have been done with people with lots of experience working with public cloud services from third-party providers. Previous research on the topic have also been studied. An analysis compiled the collected empirical data to create an overview of the relations between the technology and how it can benefit and affect the process for development of information systems. This leads to a conclusion that present how an organization's processes for developing information systems may be affected by the acquisition of public cloud services from third party suppliers. This study shows that functions in the public clouds can significantly improve the development process of information systems. It can provide functions and benefits that can reduce the time it takes to set up a test-environment and also shorten the time it takes to implement applications. It may also lead to reduced costs due to its beneficial pay-as-you-go model but may create a locked-in-effect to the third-party provider.
