Jaroslav Švelch Abstract Media convergence - continuous merging of media determined by new technologies development - is one of the most significant phenomenons nowadays. The theoretical portion of this thesis describes technological, economical and content aspects of convergence. It is emphasizing Henry Jenkins's definition, which characterizes convergence as change in audience behavior, their active media content consumption. This contrast between passive audience of old traditional media and active audience of convergence media is a premise of following empirical portion of the thesis. It aims to assign socio- demographic characteristics to these contradictory descriptions. Audience of MF DNES, Rádio Impuls and TV Nova are elected as representatives of traditional audience and their profile is compared with iDnes.cz, Impuls.cz and nova.cz users characteristics. This master thesis is concerning the role of the manager in working with children and young audience in the world of theatre. The first chapters undertake the definition of the theatre for children and theatre played by children and brief history of this genre in the Czech Republic. It describes the history and rich tradition of festivals and parades in this area for different age categories until presence. The following chapters are dedicated to the relationship of theatres with their both audiences, current and potential. The thesis also appoints different possibilities of working with the audience and its development, its active engagement through interactive elements and impulses and building the long-term relationship with them. It defines the role of the manager in working with children and young audiences, it describes the activities of organisations concerning the theatre for children, dramatic education and concerning working with the audience and its development. In following chapters, there is description of specific needs of children and student audience and their characteristics. In next chapter there, is the analysis of the level of using marketing instruments and managerial attitudes in theatres, and the possibilities of financing activities of theatres aimed at children audience and youth. By studying the literature and conduction of my own quantitative research, I learnt about the level of cooperation between theatres and schools, and I evaluated the attitude of theatres towards children and youth audience and I was curious if the theatres are nurturing their future spectators.

Als Richard Wagner in Riga an seiner ersten großen Oper Rienzi arbeitete, war er der Ansicht, daß hier keine Möglichkeit bestehe, ein Bühnenwerk von solchen Anforderungen aufzuführen. Das Stadttheater, in dem von 1782 Opern- und Theatervorstellungen stattfanden, war seiner Meinung nach nicht geeignet, die "große tragische Oper", die zweifelsohne entscheidende Anklänge an die Große Oper Spontinis und Meyerbeers aufwies, aufzuführen. Lag es an der Räumlichkeit des Gebäudes oder spielten da andere Tatsachen ihre Rolle?

Operntheater und -truppen sind im Vergleich zu dramatischem Theater und Schauspieltruppen viel seltener: ich schätze die Proportion Opernhaus zu Theatereinrichtungen etwa 1:7. Auch in Lettland ist das so. Aber eine genauere Prüfung dieses Zustandes zeigt auch andere Möglichkeiten und Gesetzmäßigkeiten.

Wenn es sich also bei diesem dritten Jahrhundertviertel auch um keine abgeschlossene Epoche handelt, so verspricht seine Betrachtung doch Aufschluß über die institutionellen Rahmenbedingungen einer entscheidenden musikgeschichtlichen Weichenstellung: Gab es vor 1750 noch kein einziges musikalisches Bühnenwerk in russischer Sprache, so bringt das folgende Vierteljahrhundert nicht nur den ersten russischen Operntypus überhaupt – die russifizierte \"opera seria\" –, sondern auch seine Überwindung zugunsten der russischen komischen Oper, die die Produktion der folgenden Jahrzehnte dominiert und im 19. Jahrhundert zur russischen Nationaloper führt.

Der vorliegende Beitrag ist eine Skizze, die das bereits in der knappen Zeitspanne von 1881 bis etwa 1900 mehrfach wechselnde Verhältnis zwischen russischen und italienischen Operntruppen in Petersburg zu umreißen versucht.

Die hier durchgeführte Analyse des Repertoires der Schlesischen Staatsoper dürfte es demnach ermöglichen, weitreichende Schlüsse in Bezug auf das Fungieren dieser Institution in ihrem Milieu zu ziehen.

Diploma thesis "The history of television audience research methodology in Czechoslovakia and in the Czech Republic" deals with measurement methodology of TV ratings with focus on the recapitulation of the whole process of data acquisition. In the first part of the work, the author approaches theories about audience measurement and social use of television. The following part already concentrates on the development of the audience measurement methodology from the diary method to electronic measurement. The diary method measurement is divided into three periods: measurement before 1970, surveys in 1970 - 76, measurement after 1976. As for electronic measurement author deals with measurement methodology and development of new technologies. The work is enclosed by the brief summary of the audience measurement methods in other selected countries.
