Mezi doslovností a purismem - překlady německé rodinné korespondence Karla Havlíčka / Between Literalism and Purism - Translations of Karel Havlíček Borovský's German Family Correspondence

Kukrechtová, Barbora January 2016 (has links)
This thesis analyzes the Czech translations of Karel Havlíček's German family correspondence. The translations are from the turn of the 20th century, from the 1940s, and from the present day. In the introduction, the present-day situation concerning the publication of Havlíček's correspondence is outlined. After that, the thesis focuses on the skopos theory as the main theoretical base for the analysis. Then the thesis turns to the life of Karel Havlíček with a focus on his student years. In the analytical section, the individual translators and the origination of the translations are introduced. Selected translations are then analyzed. The primary objective of the thesis is the evaluation of translation strategies and methods used by the translators of Karel Havlíček's family correspondence with regard to translation conventions and social and historical changes.

The works investigate forms of short fiction as well as less central issues of literary theory and creation: the fictional works and the essays discuss short-short story and minifiction, gestures and the notes of a writer. The longest essay examines the contemporary theorization about minifiction, relating Hispanic American authors, to trace and problematize options for terminology, genre relations, formal, structural, and pragmatic characteristics. It also observes the consequence produced by the theoretical perspectives chosen to address these mentioned forms. On the other hand, the essays on notes and gestures develop examples for a theoretical-critical proposal within Creative Writing; the first case affiliated to the personal essay, a contemporary descendant of Montaigne, and the latter to the writing manual, teaching aspiring writers technical artifices and analyzing its different effects based on concrete cases. This Thesis presents artistic Creative Writing and theoretical Creative Writing works, for examining different possibilities within this relatively new research area in Brazil at PhD level, and the intersections of theory, criticism and creation.

This papers objective is to evaluate the usability and the information architecture of the Moodle Mandacaru interface, now being utilized in the Center for Studies in Public Health in the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). Specifically in the Specialization Course in Labor Management and Health Education (CGTES), and to propose improvements for future versions. The study was based on the concepts of usability evaluations using predictive techniques, using ergonomic criteria for inspection via checklist LabUtil, and prospective, using the cooperative evaluation and satisfaction questionnaire. The research methodology is descriptive and its mixed approach, in which are utilized quantitative analysis, collected in satisfaction questionnaires and interpretative analysis, collected in interviews on site with 5 students of the course. To help in the organization and direction of the research it was used a framework called DECIDE, where a specific sequence of orientation, execution and analysis in the evaluation process was drawn .Data collection was organized in three stages: (1) the preparatory phase, the organization of actions that will guide the subsequent steps; (2) the first stage, with the realization of a diachronic analysis of the object under study and ergonomic inspection; (3) the second stage, with the implementation of cooperative evaluation coupled with the satisfaction questionnaire. Data analysis in the first stage, through environmental diachronic analysis showed a significant improvement in visual appearance, content organization and use of new technologies in previous versions, however the inspection via checklist presented a percentage of approximately 33% non-compliance with the ergonomic criteria in Ergolist, presenting flexibility, user control, feedback and minimal actions as one of the interface problems. The results of the second step showed a consistent with most points of the previous stage, adding a personal touch user satisfaction with regard to usability and aspects relevant to the environment.
