Determinants for Successful Boothmanship & Booth Design: A Book Review of Exhibiting Marketing and Trade Show Intelligence

Hahn, Isabel, Kodó, Krisztina January 2017 (has links)
The book provides a deep insight into the successful organisation, management and marketing of booths at trade shows. By giving practical examples and explanations, Solberg Søilen aims at examining previous research and exploring factors and aspects which can lead, if properly applied, to successful boothmanship. Findings were, that the book is written rather as a guidebook for inexperienced readers in the field of marketing and trade show intelligence. Whereas the exhibiting of marketing is discussed in detail, the topic of “trade show intelligence” is not covered in depth and, thus, the title is rather misleading.Overall, the book is easy to read and follow due to the provided examples, tables and graphs, which enhance the reader’s understanding.

Periodontal Resident Self-Assessment of Ergonomics Before and After Videotaped Surgeries

Marantz, Corin 23 May 2012 (has links)
Objective: To examine whether self-assessment of videotaped surgeries helps improve periodontal residents’ ergonomics. Methods: Residents (n=8) provided self-assessments of their own ergonomics while performing periodontal surgery using a questionnaire with open and closed items. Results were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative means. Results: Comparison of responses resulted in a change between Pre-video Surgery 1 and PSV1 (p<0.05) and between the three occasions for flat foot and horizontal shoulder positions (p<0.05). Resident goals were most numerous for improving positions of shoulder, back and neck and most notable responses for failure to achieve goals were the need for surgical access and being too focused the procedure. Conclusions: Videotape review is a valid means of self-assessment. Intervention solely in the form of a questionnaire and videotape review was insufficient in its ability to change the residents’ ergonomics. Barriers to implementation of proper ergonomics were identified.

First chapter Alzheimer's disease briefly describes a definition, risk factors and symptomatology of the disease. Most of this chapter characterizes an etiopathology of the disease focused on amyloid theory. Finally there are also mentioned current approaches to therapy of Alzheimer's disease and those, which stay in clinical trials. Next part is dedicated to physiological functions and substrates of the β-secretase. This diploma thesis evaluates the current state of scientific research of synthetic inhibitors of β-secretase, describes the most important methods of testing inhibition and activity of β-secretase in vitro and outlines the issue of development of new inhibitors using in silico method. Dostál, Ondřej January 2012 (has links)
1 Abstract Protection against improper conduct of a contracting authority in a public tender The aim of this thesis is to analyze the system of protection against improper conduct of a contracting authority in a public tender in the Czech Republic. This is a hot topic since the public eye at present focuses on corruption in public administration and public procurement is often mentioned in this context. The work consists of four chapters. The first chapter discusses the basic principles of public procurement, and highlights their importance for protection against improper conduct of a contracting authority. The second chapter of the thesis deals with the sources of legislation of protection against improper conduct and defines the term review procedures as a generic term. The third chapter provides an introduction of the authorities providing protection against improper conduct of contracting authorities and their responsibilities in overseeing public procurement. The fourth chapter contains individual means of protection, which can be used by a supplier to correct errors of the contracting authority. These means of protection are objections against the conduct of the contracting authority, the administrative procedure before the Office for Protection of Competition and an action against the decision of the...

Biologické a s biologií související koncepce agrese se zvláštním přihlédnutím k její hormonální regulaci. / Biological and related theories of aggression and its humoral regulation

Bradáč, Ondřej January 2013 (has links)
Aggression is a phenomenon which acquired a substantial share on attention of biological literature, especially since the beginning of 20th century. In this thesis, various approaches to the problem from the field of biology are summarized. Intensified attention is dedicated to the theoretical concepts of aggression, especially the concepts consulting the problem of aggression from the evolutionary point of view and to the research on the field of hormonal regulation of aggression, stressing out the role of the hormone testosterone, and to particular hypothesis, which take account on its mutual relationship with behavior. The empirical part of the thesis is dedicated to verification of premises of the challenge hypothesis according to the relationship between testosterone and aggressive behavior. Significant findings of the empirical part refer to the existence of a link between basal level of testosterone and aggressive tendencies and to the existence of a negative link between basal level of testosterone and its increase in reaction to a competitive situation.

Dědková, Eva January 2013 (has links)
Remedial and supervisory measures in tax procedure The major aim of my thesis is to characterise and analyze each legal means of protection used in tax procedure with putting emphasize on conditions of using them and ways of protection they providing especially the taxable entities. The next purpose is to compare the selected aspects of the remedial and supervisory measures according to the current and previous legislation. The main part of my work focuses on the remedial and supervisory measures regulated by a Tax Procedure Code, but there are briefly mentioned other legal means of protection contained in the same act and also the judicial means of protection regulated by the relevant procedure codes. The analysis of these legal instruments is based on diction of the legislation and also the relevant judicial decisions. The thesis points out the disputable provisions of their regulation in the Tax Procedure Code too. My thesis is composed, besides Introduction and Conclusion, of other five chapters, mainly dealing with each of the remedial and supervisory measures. Suverenita parlamentu : podstata, vývoj a důsledky pro soudní přezkum normotvorby / The sovereignty of Parliament: its substance, development and consequences for the judicial review of rule-making

Píša, Radek January 2013 (has links)
My thesis deals with the legal concept of sovereign Parliament, the very keystone of British constitution according to A. V. Dicey. This model has been challenged both normatively and descriptively. Concerning the normative point of view, concept of unlimited sovereignty is incoherent. Descriptively, courts don't simply take the parliamentary supremacy for granted, even if they say so. Relationship between the Parliament and courts is certainly more complex than Dicey suggested. Goals of this thesis are rather tentative. Since the popularity of this topic among British constitutional lawyers, comprehensive analysis is implausible due to the limited space. This paper aims to gather fundamental theories and disputes regarding the parliamentary sovereignty and its relationship with courts. In other words, it explores connection between the Parliament and courts in contemporary British constitution. First chapter analyses the constitutional conventions, which forms the basics of several other fundamental concepts in UK constitution. It suggests that there are no clear boundaries between law and conventions. Second chapter focuses on the general concept of sovereignty and Diceyan classic theory of Parliamentary sovereignty. There is also a brief explanation of sovereignty's connection to Scot's law....

Známé kriminální kauzy ve světovém filmu: od reality a novinových (TV) zpráv k filmovému zpracování, až po filmové recenze. / Films based on the world well-known criminal cases: from reality, paper and TV news to feature films and film reviews.

Hrbek, Jan January 2016 (has links)
The thesis focuses on two criminal cases and their film renditions. It introduces the reader to the cases of Frank Lucas and George Jung on the basis of period testimonies, informations from media and the biographies of the two felons. The thesis sheds light on real parallels in their personal lives as well as their professional lives and explains the differences in their operations, including the time after their release. The thesis intentionally focuses not only on the activities that got them to court but their personal lives as well. Those are especially important to the part of the text that focuses on the film renditions of their lives. The movies, American Gangster and Blow are being dissected based on the dramaturgical decisions, the narrative and the praise they have been given by journalists and general public.
