Através do estudo de algumas obras sobre a temática racial desenvolvidas por Octavio Ianni, buscamos compreender a linha de pensamento acerca do conteúdo no período entre 1957 a 1961. O trabalho consiste na investigação de determinadas obras, por meio de uma reconstrução histórico-sociológica na intenção de entender as diferentes perspectivas metodológicas utilizadas pelo autor em sua dissertação de mestrado e em sua tese de doutorado, quando se apropria do eixo de análise marxista para a análise do sistema escravocrata e sua abolição no Brasil. Os trabalhos sobre a questão racial desenvolvidos por Octavio Ianni trouxeram grande contribuição ao modo pelo qual o tema vinha sendo pesquisado desde que fora abolida a escravatura no Brasil. Os estudos ajudaram a diagnosticar não apenas este fenômeno mas também o desenvolvimento capitalista em curso no Brasil desde o final do século XIX. / We make in this research an analysis about Brazilian social political thought formed at Cadeira I de Sociologia Uspiana. Through the study of some works about the racial subject developed by Octavio Ianni we seek to comprehend a thought line about the content in the period between 1957 and 1961. The dissertation aims the investigation of specific works through a sociological-historic reconstruction intending to understand the different methodological perspectives used by the author in his master’s degree dissertation and PHD thesis, when adopting the Marxist perspective to analyze the slavery system and its disintegration in Brazil. The works about the racial question developed by Octavio Ianni brought important contributions to the way which the subject has been researched in Brazil since the slavery abolition. The studies helped to diagnostic not just this phenomenon but also the capitalist development since the 19th century

The research?s producer problem is constituted in: how Biology?s teachers of UFSCAR and UEFS had broke the historical silence of the racial question in Biology Higher Education? The research problem is sedimented in the fact of that historically the racial question constituted as a silence in the teacher?s formation of Sciences/Biology and biologists and can be affirmed that of general form still it is present. In order to answer the problem, conversations with two professors of the UEFS had been realized and a professor of the UFSCAR, that works or already they had worked with the racial question in the major?s courses where they teach. To help to think the research better, it was chosen to talk with a professor of the course of Biology of the UFRRJ, that in the case, does not work with the racial question in classroom. In intention to supply a bigger support to the research, I talked with one Biology?s student and one biologist, both of different institutions. As contributions, the research presents: the importance of considering professors?s narratives for practical to the racial question and as these practicals can help to think different possibilities for the Biology higher education of Biology. / Esta pesquisa insere-se no campo de estudo da Educa??o das Rela??es ?tnico-Raciais, especificamente em sua rela??o com o Ensino Superior de Biologia. O problema gerador da pesquisa se constituiu em: como docentes de Biologia da UFSCAR e UEFS romperam com o sil?ncio hist?rico da quest?o racial no Ensino Superior de Biologia? O problema de pesquisa est? sedimentado no fato de que historicamente a quest?o racial se constituiu como um sil?ncio na forma??o de professores de Ci?ncias/Biologia e bi?logos e pode-se afirmar que de forma geral ainda est? presente. A fim de responder o problema, foram realizadas conversas com dois docentes da UEFS e um docente da UFSCAR, que trabalham ou j? trabalharam com a quest?o racial nos cursos de Licenciaturas onde lecionam. Para ajudar a pensar melhor a pesquisa, escolheu-se conversar com uma docente do curso de Biologia da UFRRJ, que no caso, n?o trabalha com a quest?o racial em sala de aula. No intuito de fornecer um suporte maior ? pesquisa, conversei com uma graduanda em Biologia e uma egressa, ambas de institui??es diferentes. Como contribui??es, a pesquisa apresenta: a import?ncia de se considerar as narrativas de professores para pr?ticas relacionadas ? quest?o racial e como estas pr?ticas podem ajudar a pensar diferentes possibilidades para o ensino superior de Biologia.

A partir da análise de duas de suas obras História do Brasil (1900) e A Língua Nacional (1921) busco compreender o esforço de um letrado do final do século XIX e início do XX em contribuir para constituição (ou reconstituição) e divulgação de elementos distintivos da nacionalidade brasileira. Principalmente através do saber historiográfico e lingüístico. A História do Brasil e A Língua Nacional são as duas obras em que João Ribeiro colocou em prática a intenção de interpretar e compreender o Brasil como um país autônomo em sua especificidade histórica e lingüística. Esta especificidade, segundo ele, se deve basicamente a formação miscigenada da população brasileira. / The subject of the present study is the construction of the brazility in the work of João Ribeiro. Departing of analysis of two of his works History of Brazil (1900) and The National Language (1921) I find to understand the effort of the erudite man, in the ends of the Century XIX and begins of the Century XX, to contribute for constitution, reconstitution and divulgation of the distinctive elements of the Brazilian nationality. Mainly through of the historiographic and linguistic knowledge, The History of Brazil and The National Language are the two works that João Ribeiro puts in practical his intention of the to interpret and to understand the Brazil how an autonomy country in its historical and linguistics especifities.
