Mrázková, Tereza January 2011 (has links)
The subject of this thesis is the analysis of the collective literary output of the two young authors - German writer Martin Becker and his Czech friend Jaroslav Rudiš. A part of my thesis concerns also with their lives and own works. The object is to find Czech motives in the work and life of Martin Becker and influence of German culture on the books of Jaroslav Rudiš, to concern on typical characteristics and analysis of their collective works. In my thesis I arrive at the conclusion that the Czech stay, interest in Czech language and literature reflect in works of Becker, in the similar way are books of Rudiš influenced by his interest in German authors, art, history, German language and other. In collective work are these moments interwoven and supplemented.

Kennen Sie Randegg? : Martin Walsers "Das Gespenst von Gattnau" und die Tendenz zur Versöhnung / Do you know Randegg? : Martin Walsers "Das Gespenst von Gattnau" and the tendency of conciliation

Widdau, Christoph Sebastian January 2010 (has links)
Since his Friedenspreisrede in 1998 the number of publications imputing the opus of Martin Walser to be nationalistic and anti-Semitic rises. Sometimes it is suggested that he tries to strengthen nationalistic tendendices with an exklusion of the Jewish and that there is irreconcilability between the community of delinquents and the community of victims after 1945. Walsers Radio Play "Das Gespenst von Gattnau" admits the assumption of another tendency: the tendency of conciliation.

Daniel Keyes: Flowers for Algernon - české překlady a dramatizace / Daniel Keyes: Flowers for Algernon - Czech translations and dramatizations

Melicharová, Lucie January 2013 (has links)
The thesis looks at the Czech life of the Flowers for Algernon short story written by Daniel Keyes. It aims to present an analytical comparison of the short story translations and dramatizations created in the Czech cultural environment and to define their invariants. The theoretical part of the thesis informs the reader about the life and work of Daniel Keyes and depicts the process of creation of the short story in question. Furthermore, it outlines its main themes and stylistic features, as well as its reception both in the U. S. and abroad. Special attention is paid to the reception in Czechoslovakia, or rather the Czech Republic, namely to the two short story translations (Černý, 1976; Markus, 2003) and the three original dramatizations (Říhová, 1988; Hruška, 1993; Heger, 2010). All pieces of work are presented in their broader socio-cultural context, with due regard to their authors. This contextualisation lays the foundations for the subsequent translatological analysis, which is based on Gideon Toury's descriptive model (1995). In accordance with Toury, the Czech short stories are seen as products of the target culture. Therefore, the assumed translations are first assessed in terms of their acceptability in this culture and these hypotheses are then tested by means of comparison of...
