Este trabalho tem como principal objetivo apresentar os dados encontrados no levantamento feito em revistas literárias e culturais do período que vai de 1922-1942, para conhecer as principais preocupações e contribuições dos escritores e intelectuais para o processo de modernização do teatro brasileiro. O primeiro volume contempla um estudo interpretativo, de cunho histórico e crítico, que abrange desde as características do teatro em voga na época até as tentativas de modernização e a concorrência com o cinema e o rádioteatro. O segundo volume deste trabalho apresenta o índice classificatório das matérias, elaborado a partir dos dados coletados durante a pesquisa, que permite uma fácil localização de boa parte do que foi publicado sobre o teatro na época / The main purpose of this dissertation is to present the data found and collected from some cultural and literary magazines during the period of 1922-1942, in order to understand the main concerns and contributions of writers and intellectuals in the modernization process of the Brazilian theater. The first volume brings a historical and critical interpretative study that not only points out the main characteristics of the theatrical productions of that period, but also its modernization initiatives and its competition with the cinema and the radio-theater. The second volume of this dissertation presents the classificatory index of the collected data, elaborated along with the research to provide a feasible tool for locating this material

O objetivo deste trabalho consiste em analisar os processos das adaptações de Perelà uomo di fumo (1954), de Aldo Palazzeschi. Adaptado, em 1970, por Roberto Guicciardini, para o teatro e, em 1971, para o radioteatro, as homônimas peça e radiopeça foram interpretadas pelo Gruppo della Rocca e obtiveram grande sucesso de crítica e de público. Os métodos empregados constituíram-se em discorrer a respeito de Perelà uomo di fumo romance, textos dramático e radiofônico, para apresentarmos a análise dos processos de adaptação a partir do exame da relação entre o romance e o texto dramático, e entre os textos dramático e radiofônico, o que evidenciou as tensões conceituais que o processo de adaptação cria entre um meio e outro. Essa análise foi baseada nos postulados teóricos da Tradução Intersemiótica sobretudo os de Roman Jakobson (1969), Charles Sanders Peirce (2005), Julio Plaza (2003) e Umberto Eco (2007) , dos Estudos da Adaptação especialmente os de Linda Hutcheon (2013) e Julie Sanders (2006) e dos Estudos Culturais em particular os de Thaïs Flores Nogueira Diniz (1999) e Claus Clüver (1997) , além do material levantado durante nossa pesquisa de campo: livros, troca de correspondências, manchetes em jornais e revistas da época e entrevistas, tanto as realizadas por nós quanto as já publicadas. Posteriormente, relacionamos as linhas teóricas da Tradução Intersemiótica e da Adaptação com os Estudos Culturais. Para tanto, fundamentados em algumas teorias de Pierre Bourdieu, apresentamos as consequências das adaptações para o Romance, o Gruppo della Rocca, o Teatro, o Radioteatro e, como resultado, mostramos a importância das adaptações tanto em termos político, quanto social, como cultural. Por fim, consideramos que a adaptação de um romance desde sua transformação textual até sua representação pode colaborar para a recuperação da obra literária e ser uma maneira de intervir, por meio do teatro/radioteatro, na vida político-sociocultural de uma comunidade. / The objective of this work is to analyze the processes of the adaptations of Perelà uomo di fumo (1954), by Aldo Palazzeschi. Adapted, in 1970, by Roberto Guicciardini to the theater and in 1971 to the radio theater, the homonymous play and radio presentation were performed by the Gruppo della Rocca and obtained great success from critics and audience. The methods employed were to discuss about Perelà uomo di fumo novel, dramatic text, and radiophonic text, in order to present the analysis of the processes of adaptation by examining the relationship between the novel and the dramatic text and between the dramatic text and radiophonic text, which evidenced the conceptual tensions that the adaptation process creates between one medium and the other. This analysis was based on the theoretical postulates of Intersemiotic Translation especially Roman Jakobson (1969), Charles Sanders Peirce (2005), Julio Plaza (2003) and Umberto Eco (2007) of Adaptation Studies particularly Linda Hutcheon (2013) and Julie Sanders (2006) and Cultural Studies in particular Thaïs Flores Nogueira Diniz (1999) and Claus Clüver (1997) as well as material collected during our field research: books, exchanged correspondence, newspapers headlines and magazines and interviews, either produced by us or previously published. Subsequently, we related the theoretical lines of Intersemiotic Translation and Adaptation with Cultural Studies. Lastly, based on some theories of Pierre Bourdieu, we presented the consequences of the adaptations for the Gruppo della Rocca, Romance, Theater and Radio theater and, as a result, we demonstrated the importance of adaptations in political, social as well as in cultural terms. Finally, we considered that the adaptation of a novel from its textual transformation to its representation can contribute to the recovery of the literary work and be a way of intervening, through theater/radio theater, in the socio-political life of a community.
