Entre a crise e a mudança: a constituição do ensino de leitura como objeto de pesquisa em investigações acadêmicas / Between crisis and change: the creation of teaching reading as a research subject in academic research

Ana Cristina Champoudry Nascimento da Silva 24 April 2012 (has links)
This research was conducted with the aim of analyzing how the teaching of reading is formed as a research subject in academic research in the 80s of the twentieth century. Thus, we observed twelve dissertations, defended between 1983 and 1989 in public and private institutions in the country. Data analysis was done based on a theoretical perspective based on the analysis of French Discourse. It is understandable therefore that the speech is crossed by the \"already heard\" and the \"already said\" based on what it, the discourse, is constituted (PECHEUX, 1990). Recognizing that the elements that comprise a specific state of the production conditions of a discourse are not simply juxtaposed, but maintain constitutive relations between them, were handled, to the work of analysis, specifically the concepts of interdiscourse and heterogeneity, as proposed by Maingueneau (2006) and Authier-Revuz (2004), respectively. It was observed that, to constitute the object of research in the teaching of reading, different voices were used from various speeches, constituting networks of relationships interdiscursive a process in which were associated with academic discourse (on reading), the pedagogical (on reading instruction) and political (on social and political conditions at the time of preparation of the work). There was such relationships are established between the statements about the teaching of reading in these texts of dissertations and enunciative those instances in which these discourses circulated in order to identify how the relationship between them allowed the constitution of the object in question. By analyzing the corpus of essays, it was noted that these studies are characterized by considering the teaching of reading as a means by which it would be possible (in the context of preparation of dissertations) effect changes in society. It was concluded that, with regard to the constitutional process of teaching reading as a research subject, the work observed are characterized by identifying a crisis context (school) reading for the following analysis, based on specific theoretical perspective, the causes of this crisis, and as a result, didactic proposals that would help to promote change in ways that made the formation of readers in the classroom of elementary education in this sense, the teacher of basic school is not only thematized as observed in research, but recurrently presented by researchers as one of the main recipients of their work.

Gois, Pedro Henrique de January 2018 (has links)
This thesis has as main objective the study on the constitution of the subject researcher, particularly one that acts in the area of Administration. The space-time dimension, the place where the subjects speak, the trajectories of the academic and academic formation of the teachers, the space-time dimension in the teaching trajectories and the professional choice and the relation with work done are the main points highlighted as joint analysis . Reflexivity incorporates the narrative of the experience of self, of a subject who stands for his truth, who reflects on his conduct and his action. In this regard, the thesis comprises a reading of Michel Foucault's philosophy for the area of Administration, particularly with regard to the understanding of the constitution of the subject and its relation with work and with the organizations. The period of construction of this thesis, between the years of 2013 and 2018, comprised the experience of thinking and rethinking the research, redesigning its purposes, adapting the objectives to the possibilities of developing the work and, finally, the deepening around the cut defined for the study. The research carried out at the School of Administration of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, particularly with regard to the Postgraduate Program in Administration, comprised this place as an important space for discussion and development of knowledge for the Administration area , recognized by the peers and by the institutions that refer to graduate studies in Brazil. In the research I propose a historical survey, firstly, on the place where this postgraduate program is located in relation to the set of programs in general in the country, situating the space where it is spoken when there is reference to the subjects of whom speaks throughout the thesis. After the situation of the place followed the invitation so that the researchers could contribute to the research reporting their teaching experiences, particularly regarding the connection with the teaching and the research that they developed along their trajectories with the PPGA / UFRGS. Twenty - four interviews were carried out with researchers who work or who acted in this place, analyzed together with a file consisting of minutes, historical documents, images and institutional information. Priority, with respect to these teachers, the research cut advocates investigating aspects that deal with the subject, conceptions of teaching practices and knowledge related to work. As a theoretical contribution, the literature review is based on the work of Michel Foucault and on the reflections that this author presents on the subject, on the crossings that act on the constitution of the subject and on the configuration of power and control in the spaces institutions. As for the methodological procedures, it is a qualitative study, analyzing the discursive formations present in the interviews with the subjects and the archive constructed in connection with the research. The discourse, as Michel Foucault argues, is analyzed theoretically and as a methodological subsidy for subsequent analyzes throughout the study Thus, highlighting the trajectories and experiences of researchers, the construction of the place of the PPGA / UFRGS as a space of knowledge and practices that involve academic work and the difficulties and potentialities for the development of research in the area of Administration, this research seeks an understanding of the constitution of the subject through the relation that he establishes with his work and in the light of his experiences evidenced in his life and profession trajectories. From the analysis proposed, it was possible to understand how the constitutive multiplicity marks the space researched. Through the discourse, different references on how research and teaching trajectories were constructed within the university and, specifically, in the PPGA / UFRGS, it was possible to map constitutive traits that indicate how the experience in a specific organization as analyzed is marked by difference and multiplicity of sayings, knowledge and practices. The functioning as an organization is marked by rules, legal provisions and norms that confine certain limits enunciated by the subjects, representing aspects that mark the identification or the counter identification of the subjects to these aspects over time The working conditions experienced, the relationship with the construction of the trajectory, the deviations and crossings experienced over time in the face of institutional dynamics are points that, also in a multiple and different way, mark trajectories and are signified in a peculiar way in terms of experiences singular As a whole, the regularities identified, such as the formation of common areas of interest, the positions taken over time in relation to the conditions of work, the coexistence in the work space, the limitations / possibilities observed in the institutional space are characteristics which mark trajectories differently. In this sense, the constituency of the subject researcher in administration in the PPGA / UFRGS comprises broad elements that include aspects of personal experiences of construction of the trajectories, elements of the space experienced in this university and the linking of this space with institutional dimensions beyond the university itself and participate in their organizational dynamics, such as development agencies, representative entities, associations, research groups.

Vláknité mikromycety ve výuce na nižších sekundárních školách / Fibrous Micromycetes in Teaching at Lower Secondary Schools

Bábiková, Věra January 2021 (has links)
Filamentous microfungi play an important role in the environment and they can have either a positive impact on a man, e.g. in a form of medicine or food production, or a negative one, when filamentous microfungi may cause diseases or deteriorate food. Pupils usually start learning about filamentous microfungi in form 6 of a primary school, or they get some tangential information in the first year of an eight-year grammar school. In addition, in most of student's books, microfungi are incorrectly referred to as moulds, which is an unprofessional term. The objective of my thesis is to elaborate two practical tasks for the presence form of study in which pupils find out the difference between unicellular and multicellular fungal organisms, acquaint themselves with the fungal phytoparasite - mildew, take the substrate, make native and coloured mounts which are then observed under the microscope. The other two practical tasks have been elaborated for the distance form of study via exploration tasks, which can be carried out at home conditions. It means creation of a mycological garden and observation what kind of bakery products is more prone to be affected by microfungi. The other elaborated tasks relate to across-the-curriculum use of the filamentous microfungi topic in Maths and Czech, in which some...

Rozvoj dovednosti žáků plánovat postup zkoumání v přírodovědném bádání / Development of Students' Skills in Planning Procedure of Exploration in Science Inquiry

Příhodová, Karolína January 2022 (has links)
Research-oriented teaching is a constructivist form of teaching, where the student is not only passed on the material passively, but the student is actively involved in solving the problem. In the role of researcher, he makes hypotheses, conducts experiments and draws conclusions. The main goal of this work was to find out the development of students' skills to plan the research process in science research at the 2nd Dobříš Primary School. The work was divided into three parts. In the introduction to the theoretical part, the aim was to introduce readers to research- oriented teaching in biology lessons at the second level and the characteristics of concepts. The practical part was focused mainly on observing and evaluating the development of the ability to plan progress on already created topics for BOV. It was found that more than half of the students are able to formulate the procedure correctly for a given task and the rest are able to create a partial procedure or none at all. It would therefore be appropriate to focus on deepening knowledge and practical skills in research- oriented teaching. KEYWORDS Research-oriented teaching, research, process development, biology

A Mixed-Methods Inquiry into Science Teachers’ Perceptions of the Effects of Professional Development Experiences on Implementation of Research-Based Instructional Practices

Felton, Norma D 16 May 2014 (has links)
Abstract This was a modified integrated mixed methods study of teachers’ perceptions of factors that influence transfer of research-based teaching strategies into classroom practice. Participants were made up of 66 respondents to a researcher made survey, “Survey of Teacher Attitudes toward Change and Classroom Implementation of Research–Based Strategies”. Respondents were divided into two groups based on participation in Louisiana Systemic Initiatives Programs (LaSIP): LaSIP, N= 39 and Non-LaSIP, N= 27. Answers to five research questions were based on analysis of quantitative data from a survey, recorded on a five-point Likert scale and qualitative data from analyses of transcripts of three personal interviews, two focus group discussions and five short-answer questions on the survey. SPSS software version 9 and Atlas.ti version 7 were used in quantitative and qualitative analyses, respectively. Concurrent quantitative and qualitative strands of data were integrated throughout the study. Findings from quantitative data included the following: (1) Teacher perceptions of features of the LaSIP were predictive of reported frequency of use of research-based teaching strategies (RBTS); (2) Reported frequency of use of RBTS was not significantly different in LaSIP versus non-LaSIP teachers, except in reported use of alternative assessments. (3) Both LaSIP and non-LaSIP teachers indicated that implementation of RBTS increased student achievement (4) LaSIP teachers identified factors such as opportunity to collaborate with colleagues, time to acquire content knowledge, practice with material and supplies as features of the LaSIP that influenced implementation of RBTS. (5) Perceived barriers to implementation of RBTS included lack of equipment and lack of teacher input into planning of professional development. and modeling of RBTS as factors that positively influence classroom implementation. Analyses of qualitative data supported many of the findings due to quantitative analyses. Additionally, qualitative data provided more in-depth information concerning teacher perceptions of barriers to implementation such as lack of teacher input into planning and implementation of professional development, and lack of time for in-depth learning during professional development activities. Key Words: Teacher Professional Development, Research-based Teaching Strategies, Classroom Implementation, Science Pedagogy, Mixed Methods, Student Achievement

Action research in higher education: The advancement of university learning and teaching.

Zuber-Skerritt, Ortrun Dorothea, mikewood@deakin.edu.au January 1987 (has links)
This thesis aims to contribute to the improvement and advancement of university learning, teaching, and staff development; to integrate educational theory and the practice of university teaching; and to contribute to the establishment of a new, emerging paradigm in higher education. The strategy towards achieving these aims comprises (1) an alternative research methodology in the interpretive, non-positivist paradigm; (2) an integrated framework drawing on a variety of previously unrelated theories to form an alternative model of university education; and (3) reference to the dialectical relationship between educational theory and teaching practice and their integration through action research in higher education. The thesis is not so much a critique of the traditional paradigm and of existing functionalist-structuralist approaches to higher education, but more a development and clarification of an alternative, dialectical, human action approach to higher education. The original contribution of this thesis to the theory and practice of higher education lies in the development (1) of an alternative model of university education based on an integration of previously unrelated domains of theory; (2) of a theoretical model of professional development as action research (the CRASP Model: Critical attitude, Research into teaching, Accountability, Self-evaluation, Professionalism); and (3) of action research projects in higher education. Action research is research by the university teachers themselves into their teaching practice, i.e. into problems of the curriculum and student learning. The case studies included in and appended to this thesis show that in one educational setting at least it was possible to improve and advance university learning and teaching through action research. The evidence for this advancement is provided in a number of previously published case studies compiled in the Appendix.

No Researcher Is an Island : Collaboration in Higher Education Institutions

Ljunggren, Maria January 2013 (has links)
The developing knowledge economy affects organizations within the innovation system where higher education institutions (HEI) are regarded as a significant part. There is a large amount of research that focus on different aspects of collaboration such as the outcome, the process and its infrastructure. To emphasize HEIs role in the national and regional innovation systems concepts such as Mode 2 and Triple helix, and the Knowledge triangle, have developed. These concepts have also heavily influenced Swedish innovation policy.   This thesis is set to analyze collaboration work between Swedish HEIs and the public and private sectors, and to understand how collaboration: i) occurs in practice in research and undergraduate education; ii) is influenced by policy efforts, and; iii) influence HEI’s internal and external social capital building. Firstly, research and teaching links is analyzed to highlight the integration of collaboration, research and education within specific research profiles. This is because previous research has neglected collaboration and its effect on undergraduate education. Secondly, social capital theory is used as a framework for the analysis. Social capital theory is used to obtain a thorough understanding of individual researchers’ attitude to collaboration and participation in collaboration activities.   The results indicate that short term projects had long-term effects since it established new education programs and projects. Collaboration also effects undergraduate education through research profiles with their integration of research and education in groups within as well as outside the HEI. The results also show that social capital building through top steered initiatives is complex. In the HEIs there was no relation between researchers expressing a positive attitude towards different forms of collaboration and a high participation level in collaboration activities. This suggests that building of external social capital within HEIs is not related to the nature of the internal social capital. There was interfaculty differences in both the researchers’ attitude to collaboration activities and participation in collaboration activities. As expected, professors had more opportunities and ability for collaboration. They also indicated a resistance to use a central infrastructure for collaboration to build external social capital. The opposite was demonstrated for professors from the humanities who had little experience of collaboration. They still did not to use the infrastructure to a large extent. Suggestively policy makers should encourage a more efficient external social capital building through earmarked funding for collaboration on a department level rather than on the HEIs’ central level.

Členovci jako modelový taxon v učení o přírodě na 1. stupni ZŠ / Arthropods as a model taxon in learning about nature at primary level

TŮMOVÁ, Jana January 2016 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the arthropod strain as a suitable taxon model in learning about the nature at the first grade of a primary school. The methodological analysis of using the animal strain explains the reasons why the arthropods are used in teaching natural science lessons and provides specific characteristics and manifestations of living organisms, which are possible to be demonstrated on it. The second part of the literature review presents the status of learning about the nature according to the Framework educational program and representation of arthropods in czech textbooks of the natural sciences. The thesis is a collection of newly created exercises for a first degree pupils of primary education, using the selected representatives of arthropods. These tasks use the methods of the direct study of nature and the elements of contemporary popular research-oriented teaching.

Sociologia do ensino de sociologia: os debates acadêmicos sobre a constituição de uma disciplina escolar / Sociology of the teaching of sociology: the academic debates about the constitution of a school discipline

Neuhold, Roberta dos Reis 18 September 2014 (has links)
The formation of Sociology as a school discipline is an example of how different social forces concur to fabricate the curriculum. This research focused on one of these social forces the academic-scientific field with the purpose of analyzing the participation of intellectuals and scientific societies in the making of the teaching of Sociology as an object of research in Social Science and Education. The investigation included documental research, followed by an effort of bibliographical review which provided theoretical and methodological substrate. Its main sources were the journal Sociologia, the graduate programs, the annals with seven editions of the Brazilian Congress of Sociology and the Directory of Research Groups in Brazil of the Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq) (National Council of Scientific and Technological Development). The materials were collected, treated and analyzed based on a qualitative approach, resulting in a map of the academic production, organized in two intellectual contexts: between 1939 and 1955, a moment when Sociology as a discipline was acknowledged by intellectuals as part of the process that institutionalized Sociology as a science and a profession; and between 1993 and 2013, when the issues related to the path of schooling of Sociologyset foot in the research agenda of graduate programs. In whole, the research identified over 200 articles, 56 theses and dissertations and 22 research groups. Conclusion was that between 1939 and 1955, the academic milieu problematized the universal and scientific functions of the teaching of Sociology, and at the same time there was an interest in methods to disseminate the knowledge of the Social Science. Despite such production, the teaching of Sociology did not manage to set up independent investigative projects. Most of the works played a political role in taking a position in the debate about where Sociology stands in the framework of sciences, to establish a scope of professional activity for the social scientists and present concerns about the didactics of Sociology in higher education. Thus, the assumption that the teaching of Sociology turned out as an invisible object of research was confirmed, or illegitimate in Bourdieu´s words, in the academic-scientific field. Such invisibility is associated with the very hierarchy between, on one hand, research activities and the training of Sociology graduates, and, on the other hand and in subordinate position, teaching activities and the training of teachers. In the case of contemporary production, there is process underway to set up a scientific area, according to António Nóvoa, from a perspective that is academic (production of graduate programs), scientific (organization of research groups and scientific events) and curricular (setting up disciplines, lines of research and graduate courses). However, this production is still restricted to some groups of researchers, with little evidence of related theoretical-methodological options and with no acknowledgement by social scientists and pedagogues from research areas already established. The dissertation is divided in three chapters, in addition to the Introduction and Conclusion. The first chapter Teaching of Sociology and the scientific societies proposes to think about how Sociology became a school discipline based on the experience of countries like Brazil, Portugal, the USA and France under the light of debates about the curriculum as a social construction. The second Contemporary academic debates (1993-2013) and the third chapters Intellectuals and the teaching of Sociology (1939-1955) make an assessment of the academic activities that circulated among specialized journals, scientific events and, recently, research groups and graduate programs.
