Correcting Iron Chlorosis in Pyracantha

Doerge, T. A., Gibson, R. January 1988 (has links)
The alkaline nature of most Arizona soils contributes to widespread iron deficiency in exotic ornamental plants, such as pyracantha. An experiment was conducted in 1987 to evaluate the effectiveness of two soil-applied iron fertilizers (FeEDDHA chelate and a jarosite-type iron silicate, Ironite\) and three rates of foliar- applied FeEDDHA in controlling iron chlorosis symptoms in established pyracantha vines. Soil-applied FeEDDHA was the most effective in reducing iron chlorosis symptoms, followed by the foliar chelate treatments. The iron silicate material had no significant effect on iron chloroses symptoms compared to the untreated control. Both soil and foliar applications of FeEDDHA chelate made in the fall can effectively control iron chlorosis symptoms in established pyracantha.

This project aims to investigate the views of the researcher professors related to project management research financed with public funds. Specifically sought to know their reactions and expectations against the approval of the project, the key management practices, the difficulties to manage and the suggestions for improving this process. The methodology was developed, through a qualitative, exploratory, descriptive and analytical cutting type cross study. The information obtained through semi - structured i nterviews were recorded and transcribed. The subjects belonging to the Campus São Paulo of the Federal University of São Paulo, were selected intentionally and raffled among registered researcher professors as coordinators of projects and sub - projects financed by FINEP from 2005 to 2015. We interviewed 10 researchers using the saturation criterion. The data was analyzed through content analysis technique. The approval of a research project results in a sense of appreciation, pleasure and well - being, even though carrying a number of concerns for the researchers, with emphasis on bureaucracy considered to be a crucial point for the resource releases. The researchers believe that this process demands planning, organization and accompaniment and it requires sta ff support with preparation to the standard rules and legislation. They report that they learned management in practice without specific training and a major difficulty is the delay in the fund liberation, which affects the research progress. They suggest new or improved administrative structure of support to management at the University, the hiring of technical support, the previous definition of the purchased equipment installation site, the creation of a supplier database for quick access, agility in research and the creation of mechanisms for greater recognition of the researcher's work. Considering that this study’s data collect was conducted prior to the publication of the Law 13,243 / 2016, we believe that some aspects worrying the very researchers of this institution may be minimized in the near future. We believe that with the results of this research and the feasibility of new recommendations of the Legal Science Framework Law, changes can be implemented, contributing to the creation of new practices within the institution and, consequently, for the improvement of processes management of research projects.

Huang, Steven Unknown Date (has links)
關鍵字:創新研發管理、服務管理、專案管理、知識管理 / According to the industrial globalization trend, the initial models of level-cooperation and low-cost region development (production globalization) have been changed. Instead, the industry has been significantly developed to the new strategy of market opportunity (market globalization) along with worldwide resource integration (research & development globalization) that builds up a competitive foundation for global commercial opportunities. Rapid technology movement and spreading have formed a highly competitive market, which is the primary fact of facilitating the hi-tech manufactures to focus on the business cooperation. In knowledge industry, because the scale of product system is getting grown and completely integrated, a unique and significant production influence has been settled to reduce risks via the professionalism cooperation and resource integration from all regions. Under the trend of industrial globalization and intensive cooperation, the main strategy implementation of manufacture is to develop its core capability as well as competitive superiority. In recent development, majority of manufactures in Taiwan makes their first step to the globalization by investment to Mainland China. As a result, in this research, we apply a mechanism, Action Research Method, to explore the concept behind the knowledge industry’s globalization. It is executed through the management experience from pre-established sub-company to draw up a scheme, including innovation and research management, service management, and human resource management. From the constant adjustments according to running status of sub-company, the ability of core competency is expected to be solid and concreted. In addition, it strengthens the target of paramount execution that can be the standard model using in other countries and business areas in the future. Wissenschaftsmanagement en blog

Gaiser, Birgit, Panke, Stefanie, Kühnen, Angela, Chatzoudis, Georgios 23 May 2014 (has links) (PDF)

The influences of budgetary system in a selection of large Chinese companies in the industry of electronic household appliances

Fu, Xiao January 2012 (has links)
Budgetary control has been used and researched for years by both Western academics and practitioners. In China, it is re-emerging as a tool to implement management control, but might be used in different ways both in terms of understanding and operation. The research objective of this thesis is to examine the applicability of Western theories of change in management accounting in the context of budgeting in Chinese corporations. Challenges can exist because of the differences between Western assumptions and Chinese reality. The current thesis focuses on difficulties Chinese companies encounter in practical and deeper ideological ways: firstly, Western market-based ideology conflicts with an ideology which has been shaped by central-planning for decades; secondly, difficulties stem from the different cultural context of China which emphasizes hierarchical politeness, kinship ties, trust based on personal relationships, collectivism and social harmony, diligence and individual modesty, and less developed modern legal regulatory systems – these all contribute to China’s own way of doing things. This thesis also focuses on the transition process in China. Based on the assumption that budgetary changes do not happen in isolation from other management accounting changes, this thesis discusses these changes which synchronically took place while the case-study companies were implementing budgetary systems. This thesis adopts a longitudinal and in-depth qualitative case study research design, after adjustments made during the learning experience of the pilot study. It takes an interpretive and constructive philosophical underpinning, which allows the researcher to observe and understand the process of change, as well as the differences between Chinese practices and Western theories. Findings show that certain Western management accounting theories of change and Western theories of budgeting work in the case study Chinese corporations. Management accounting theories using an interpretive approach (for example, Berry et al., 1985; Scapens and Roberts, 1993; Ahrens and Chapman, 2002) lead the researcher to interpret management accounting practices from the practitioner’s points of view, and they have provided a range of terms to explain success or failure of management accounting changes. This approach together with Scapens et al.’s Institutional theory approach in management accounting have been found especially useful, in explaining the differences between Chinese vs. Western context. Furthermore, the contingency theory approach in management accounting gives a ‘platform’ which allows the researcher to assess a wide range of possible factors and their relationships with budgetary systems in studied companies. This approach is found useful in this thesis to present changes in other management accounting perspectives. Last but not least, this thesis finds existing Western literature in technical perspective of budgetary objectives, budgetary evaluation and participation, and budgetary effectiveness useful in a different context of China. By describing the change management process, an aspect which is not addressed frequently in the research literature, this thesis argues that to sufficiently understand Chinese companies’ budgetary changes, one also needs to understand unique cultural, social-economical and religious circumstances, and to adjust literature and methodology to adapt to these circumstances. This thesis provides an empirical experience concerning these issues. This thesis contributes to the understanding of management accounting change in China, and the tension which exists when Chinese companies are moving into Western management accounting practices.
